[After the Disturbance]

Despite the unexpected trouble, we successfully managed to escape the dungeon and make our way back to the academy.

I felt sorry for Tayte and the others for making them worried—but at the same time, I found myself unable to suppress my curiosity about the true identity of the suspicious men we had encountered in the dungeon.

Since this incident involved international students, the knights were dispatched to handle it. The involvement of the knights indicated that the matter would be treated with the utmost confidentiality, making it challenging for ordinary people to investigate. In simpler terms, our chances of unraveling the truth behind the incident seemed to be nearly nonexistent.

…But my curiosity remained.

In the original novel [The Rise of the Weakest Holy Swordsman], the protagonist Raul’s student days were only briefly covered, leaving me uncertain if an incident like this even occurred in the original story.

As much as I wanted to investigate, I mustn’t forget that we were in a foreign country. I couldn’t simply act as I pleased.

Essentially, I had very limited options currently.

After classes that day.

“Phew…”

Upon returning to my room just before dinner,

“““Young Master!!!”””

My three maids–Marina, Priim, and Rebecca–rushed toward me.

“W-what happened?!”

“That’s what we would like to ask!” Marina spoke on behalf of the three.

Apparently, they had received words that some suspicious men had attacked me, Madeline, and President Annette. In truth, we had merely encountered them, and things didn’t escalate into a battle, but it seemed that the story had been embellished as it was relayed.

“Don’t worry. As you can see, I’m perfectly fine.”

“T-that’s good-nya~…”

“Yes… truly…”

Priim and Rebecca let out sighs of relief and sank down to the floor simultaneously. Marina, too, was delighted that I was safe, tears glistening on the corners of her eyes.

Then, in a soft voice, she muttered, “I couldn’t imagine what I would have done if something had happened to Young Master at my alma mater…”

“Huh? Marina, you graduated from this academy?”

“Yes. Huh? Did I never mention it before?”

“Well, this is news to me!”

Wait, hold on.

Didn’t that mean…

“Marina… are you actually a noble lady?”

“N-no. While this academy ismainly attended by nobles, it also offers classes for training maids and butlers.”

Oh, I see.

“Incidentally, Marina’s father works as a fisherman here in the Salencia Kingdom.”

“Her mom works at the port market-nya!”

Rebecca and Priim provided me with some additional information.

That meant…

“Are your parents still in this country?”

“Y-yes. I believe they are doing well.”

“I see. –Okay then, I’ll grant you a break starting tomorrow. You should go visit your parents.”

“Huh?!” Marine widened her eyes in surprise.

Rebecca and Priim, on the other hand, broke into applause upon hearing my idea.

“I should have expected nothing less from Young Master.”

“Marina’s mom and dad will overjoyed-nya!”

“B-but–”

“If you are worried about work, don’t be. We can handle things here.”

“We’ve less work here compared to when we were at Astor Academy-nya!”

“Both of you…”

Marina said her gratitude to me, bowing her head deeply, and then thanked Rebecca and Priim.

Filial piety was important, after all.

I’d also have to give Rebecca and Priim a reason to take a break one of these days.
