The Real Start of Summer Break]

“Good work.”

On the day before my departure back home, I paid a visit to the principal’s office.

As part of my summer break assignment, I needed to submit a report summarizing my study abroad experiences, and I also had a few questions to clarify. But most importantly… I had a feeling that maybe Principal Abigail had something she wanted to discuss with me privately, so I went ahead with my visit.

And my hunch proved to be entirely correct.

“I wanted to express my gratitude once more.”

“Gratitude…?”

“Yes, indeed. Thanks to your efforts, the Bramshal Kingdom and the Salencia Kingdom managed to avert a grim future. You are all heroes.”

Hearing these words from Principal Abigail, who was usually so cheerful, but now spoke with such seriousness, made me feel rather bashful.

However, it seemed that she had bad news as well.

“Oh, right. I received a somewhat concerning follow-up report from Salencia.”

“Follow-up report?”

It had to be related to the men who had been engaged in the illegal mining of magic ore.

“Is there any new information about those guys?”

“…No, actually, it’s more like they reported a witness.”

“A witness?”

“Their leader… claims he was attacked by a girl. You’re aware of that, aren’t you?”

“Y-yes.”

The ‘girl’ in question referred to 《The One Who Knows the Truth of This World》.

In truth, she had been the one incapacitating their leader, and I didn’t keep this truth secret. …But of course, I hadn’t disclosed her true identity.

“Do you really not know who that girl is?”

“Yes,” I replied immediately.

I couldn’t exactly tell others she knew the truth of this world. She herself had claimed that she hadn’t told anyone else about it, but I wouldn’t put much trust in her words.

Moreover, I still didn’t understand her motives.

What had driven her to appear before me? Perhaps she had some grand, sinister plan in mind.

For example… the destruction of this world…

“That’s quite a serious expression you’ve got there.”

“Eh? Ahh…”

I let my emotions show on my face, huh… just as usual. Breaking that habit seemed impossible for me.

“Well, I won’t pry any further… but I want you to remember this. We will always be on your side.”

“Thank you, Principal Abigail.”

She must still have had some lingering suspicions, but she decided to put them aside until I was ready to explain the situation to her. I genuinely appreciated her consideration.

Leaving the principal’s room, I made my way toward the main gate.

There, I found two carriages fully loaded with luggage.

“Welcome back, Young Master.”

“Everything’s ready-nya!”

“We can depart at any time.”

“Thanks. Well, let’s set off right away, then.”

My three maids: Marina, Rebecca, and Priim reported to me.

Originally, Tayte had planned to come along with me, but earlier in the morning, she had received a letter from her parents requesting that she stop by home first, so she had gone back with Eureka.

I was curious as to why they called her home, but for now, I would go and visit my parents.

Tayte was scheduled to come to my place several days later, so we’d see each other again sooner rather than later.

“Come on, let’s go.”

“““Yes!”””

With that, I boarded the carriage with my three maids.
