[Garden Talk]

Amid my Tayte-onium deficit, finally…

“Barrett!!”

“Tayte!!”

The Ehrenbergs had arrived.

“It’s been a while, Eureka.”

“How have you been?”

“Is your maid training going well?”

“Yes! I am working hard every day to become a fine maid like all of you!”

Marina, Prim, and Rebecca also appeared delighted to be reunited with their junior, Eureka.

After greeting Tayte’s parents, Tayte and I immediately headed to the garden together.

There, Sally, a newly hired gardener, was diligently tending to the garden. She was the granddaughter of Robb, who had served the Albers House for many years and retired the last year.

“Sally.”

“Oh, Lord Barrett. And who might this person be?”

“This is Tayte, my fiancée.”

“Ehh?!”

Her surprise was understandable. She must have heard Tayte’s name before but had never seen her since she was only recently hired.

Upon learning that the girl I brought with me was my fiancée, Tayte, Sally quickly greeted her.

Then, after calming down a little, she began to show us around the garden.

“Wow~, it’s so beautiful!”

Tayte looked around the garden with sparkling eyes.

Despite my past involvement in the Horticulture Committee, my knowledge of flowers paled in comparison to Tayte’s due to my brief membership. Tayte, on the other hand, instantly noticed something different about the garden compared to before.

“I-I can’t put my finger on it… but it feels like this garden has been reborn.” There didn’t seem to be any significant changes compared to when Robb tended it, but I could feel something was different. Apparently, it wasn’t just me; my three maids and Eureka were also exploring with wonder on their faces.

“You’ve done a wonderful job here, Miss Sally.”

“Do you really think so?”

“It looks the same as before, but there’s a breath of fresh air.”

“You can tell that much?”

Tayte not only possessed extensive knowledge of plants and flowers but had also visited many different gardens, giving her a keen eye for details that we hadn’t noticed.

“Yes… I can see your touch everywhere, like here and here,” Tayte said, pointing out subtle changes from her previous visit. They were minor things, and even we, listening on the sidelines, struggled to discern, but Sally hung on to every word with unwavering attention.

“Just as I heard from Grandpa… you’re truly amazing…”

Sally’s expression as she looked at Tayte now radiated pure admiration.

“Young Mistress Tayte is being stolen, Lord Barrett.”

Eureka teased me.

“Well, it’s alright, as long as they’re enjoying themselves.”

“How magnanimous, Young Master!” Marina remarked.

“Young Master is adopting the demeanor of a composed husband-nya!” Priim said.

“Or rather, since Sally is a woman, she can’t be his love rival, to begin with.” Rebecca’s logically added… and yup, Sally didn’t seem to see Tayte in such a light.

Well, anyway, after Tayte and Sally finished discussing the garden, let’s go over our plans for this summer break again.
