[To the Villa]

The next day, we traveled to the villa.

We had lunch upon arriving, and afterward, Tayte and I decided to go to the lake that we visited last year as well.

Of course, my three maids plus Eureka accompanied us. I hoped we could be alone, but well, it couldn’t be helped.

We could finally enjoy our summer break in earnest after the short-term study-abroad trip to the Salencia Kingdom.

Speaking of the short-term study abroad, we were going to invite the student council of Randolph Academy to join our school festival this fall. The plan was for President Annette and her fellow members of the student council to watch events such as the martial arts tournament and have fun until the final after-party.

――Wait, what was I thinking?

It was summer break now.

And I was out with Tayte.

I needed to enjoy the moment.

“Wow! It’s beautiful!”

“The scenery here hasn’t changed.”

We’d only been here last year, there weren’t that many changes.

But I guessed that was a good thing.

“Barrett! Let’s get closer to the lake!”

“Hahaha, sure.”

I headed to the lake shore with the excited Tayte.

Marina and the rest stayed behind to prepare for tea time. I had the Holy Sword in case of an emergency, so we would be fine.

Come to think of it, I ran into Raul here last year. He had been on a training journey, but I had heard this year he was going west to visit a merchant who was an acquaintance of Sir Klaus.

Apparently, the merchant was a wielder of a Demon Sword much like Raul, and was frighteningly strong.

I was kind of curious as to what kind of person they were.

Eureka, Raul’s girlfriend, seemed to be lonely in his absence, but understanding Raul’s determination to get stronger, she chose not to follow him on his training journey and instead fulfilled her own duties. Knowing Tayte, if Eureka had wished to follow Raul, she would have allowed her… but she didn’t want to impose on Tayte’s kindness. What a professional.

As we strolled along the lakeside, we chatted about random stuff, enjoying the leisurely atmosphere.

Despite it being midsummer, occasional cool breezes wafted through the area, a perk of its highland location. The climate here was incredibly pleasant, making it an ideal spot for a summer retreat.

“I want to come back here next year!”

“Me too—we’ll officially be married by then.”

“Huh?”

“Ah.”

Crap.

I accidentally blurted out my thoughts.

Well, it wasn’t a big deal: it was a fact… Plus, I got to see Tayte’s adorable blush. Good job, me.

Still… I couldn’t help but daydream about my newlywed life with Tayte.

I was destined to inherit my father’s position eventually, which meant I’d have to dedicate more time to studying. My free time would be limited, but with Tayte by my side, I was confident I could enjoy it.

But there was only one problem.

《The One Who Knows the Truth of This World》— she would undoubtedly pull something during the academy festival.

Just who was she? And what was her end goal? …I needed to uncover the truth as soon as possible.
