Bai Yao has always generally kept a cool composition, but he finds himself wholly stunned and dumbfounded. He doesn’t know if he should open his eyes or not. He does, however, know that Mu Mu’er is giving him a kiss.
On the lips.

The boy doesn’t know he should close his eyes, and they’re quite widened as they kiss. Their eyes lock. The little guy is joyful, satisfied, and in love.

The kiss doesn’t last very long, as Mu Mu’er backs off a little, breaking into a big smile with his arms still around Bai Yao’s neck.

“Mu’er wants to, too,” he says.

He might not be aware of what ‘love’ entails, but he knows he likes Bai Yao the most in the entire world. He wants to see him happy every day, and be with him every day.

Before Bai Yao can ask why, Mu Mu’er continues.

“Mu’er wants to have kisses and hugs with Yaoyao, and also…” he then yells loudly, “be Yaoyao’s boyfriend!”

Bai Yao’s chest is warm. In fact, it’s puffing up, filling his body. There is a bright, starry spark in him, spreading throughout his body.

A breeze creates a melody of the chime, the only sound around the quiet neighbourhood, but it is also quite loud and lively around.

It’s true what they say. You only live once. Falling in love is exactly what it sounds like. There is no denying it, covering it, worrying about it, or being scared of it.

Love is a secret that cannot remain one.

Bai Yao leans down some more to put their foreheads together, while trying to keep his cool.

Before he can say a thing, though, Mu Mu’er is kissing him again; he freezes up again in response, letting the little guy brush his lips across his own again and again. He wants to kiss him back, but he’s also worried about scaring him.

The boy isn’t a great kisser, but he can lick. He’s sticking the tip of his tongue out again, to give him a lick on the little crease on his upper lip. Still frozen, he finds Mu Mu’er burying himself into him, looking up with puppy dog eyes.

Mu Mu’er has always told him he likes him, ever since he gave Bai Yao that persimmon.

Bai Yao kept wondering if he was wrong, and if the boy did or did not know what love entails. He must know. He knows better than anyone. Than anyone, that his ‘like’ isn’t one just between friends.

He may be no cleverer than a child, but he knows what like, what love is. He might not have the eloquence to express it, but every look, every sentence he conveys is expressive of his yearning to be with him forever.

The kiss on the beach, if Bai Yao wasn’t too overly tall that he was out of reach even for Mu Mu’er on tiptoes…
Would have landed on his lips.

He cannot put his feelings into words, but that does not mean he does not harbour the sentiment.

Bai Yao thinks that——When one is in love, you love his every inch of being. From his hair follicle to his every movement, they’re all cute and beyond fault.

This is what Bai Yao thinks of Mu Mu’er already. He likes Mu Mu’er down to every strand of hair. It’s not that he only finds himself suddenly in love, but now, the label of ‘boyfriend’ has allowed his feelings to dictate his actions with great vibrance, without restraints.

And the like will grow, too, until all of Qiaohai knows, that a snow leopard has got himself a little sea otter, and they are doing their best as a couple.

Mu Mu’er has waited patiently, but still, no answer comes. His brows furrow a little, and he asks again, “Mu’er cannot?” He tilts his head, “cannot even try? Mu’er wants to try, to be boyfriends with Yaoyao.”

He really wants to. Since the first time he said he likes Yaoyao. But Yaoyao is a big dumb, even dumber than Mu’er is. He thinks he doesn’t understand, and they should go about it slowly.

Bai Yao is going to answer, but finds the two spots of almost identical red on Mu Mu’er’s plump cheeks utterly distracting. They’re pink. They feel warm. He wants to give it a little suckle.

“Blushing?” Bai Yao leans forward some more, that his gaze is level with Mu Mu’er’s, and smiles.

Bai Yao’s face zooming into his vision has made Mu Mu’er blush even more, and he closes his eyes to dodge, “no, no blushing. Mu’er is not shy at all.”

“Then what’s with the flushed cheeks?”

Mu Mu’er quickly covers his face with his hands, peeking out from between his fingers. Even his fingertips appear to have been overtaken by a skittish pink.

He’s just like a sea otter rubbing his face.

“Mu’er, do you remember what Yaoyao once told you?” Bai Yao still doesn’t answer him, but instead asks in turn. He takes hold of Mu’er’s fingertip, and puts his lips to it, while saying, “Yaoyao, likes, you.”

Mu Mu’er held the initiative the entire time they were kissing just now, and Bai Yao did not kiss back. Now, with a smile, he lowers his head to kiss Mu Mu’er again.

Different to Mu Mu’er. Passionate, uncompromising, but also gentle.

He’s put his whole body of love into the kiss, brushing his own tongue past Mu Mu’er’s lips, giving them a cursory knock with the light touches.

The little guy finally parts his slightly red lips a little, allowing Bai Yao to make his move. He runs his tongue along his little canines, along everywhere he is let in, hoping to leave his mark everywhere within, to show others, that the boy is his.

This kiss between Bai Yao and his little sea otter is quite a lot longer. He does not want to let go. He wants to kiss him until the end of time.

Until only the other remain in their eyes, until they both realise, how much they love each other.
