Emmett lay comfortably in the front yard of Albert’s villa, revealing his form once more.

Looking at him with stinging eyes, I realized that this was the end of Emmett, as Albert had once talked about.

“…I told you not to cry.”

Emmett murmured with all his strength as he held Albert’s hand and smiled.

Emmett’s body began to slowly fade away.

Albert held Emmett’s hand in a daze, his hand wavering in the empty air. His face contorted slowly.

“No… you can’t…”

You were supposed to come back. You told me you will.

His softly muttered words carried so much pain.

Noire, who had been by Emmett’s side, also gradually became translucent.

…It was time for the dragon’s final catastrophe. As Noire’s form slowly melded into the air, a fierce wind swept through the surroundings.

Our hair and clothes fluttered wildly in the wind.

Raising my hand to shield my face, a massive shadow appeared before my eyes.

I opened my eyes, which had been narrowed.

In a daze, Albert still tried to scan the place where Emmett had disappeared, but he soon noticed the huge shadow and slowly raised his head.

Under the dazzlingly bright sky, there was a dragon.

If a dragon cub was cute, a full-fledged dragon exuded an atmosphere beyond comparison.

There was an aura emanating from the otherworldly presence.

The pure white dragon, with its entire body radiating a sense of beauty and intimidation like a sculpture, was unlike anything I had ever seen.

A sight only seen in books. The future I had desired.

The clear pupils of the dragon looking at me were gently curved. The dragon lowered its head toward me. It slowly settled down.

“Step back—”

“It’s okay, Albert.”

I stopped Albert. I knew who the figure that had appeared before me was.

Instead, I raised my hand to the dragon, and at my eye level, I gently petted the dragon’s head as he lowered his head toward me.

The dragon, as if in a good mood, shook his head slightly. When our eyes met, the dragon smiled.

[ Long time no see… ]

The voice of the young one, filled with so much longing, was much more mature than before. However, the drowsy tone remained the same.

A sense of relief washed over me as I first heard his voice. I was all choked up to see him again after such a long time.

I knew that, just like me, Blanc had overcome his trial.

“You’ve worked hard.”

As Blanc found me, my body became complete.

At the same time, I understood. The current me had powers similar to Albert’s before I came back to the past.

It had only been a short time since I became the dragon’s contractor.

As time passed, my powers would continue to grow stronger, depending on the dragon’s latent abilities.

I began to understand magic circles without needing to consciously think about it.

From the moment I reunited with Blanc and resonated with him, my mind became clear. It felt like the fog that had clouded my mind had lifted.

Was this how Albert felt? Magic wands no longer felt necessary.

Blanc, who was looking at me determinedly, murmured.

“Now, I can show the appearance that Jung-in liked…”

I remembered Blanc’s promise when I saw Albert’s upper body before leaving the tower.

I was already so immersed in the touching moment, but I was soon pulled back to my senses.

No, Blanc. I’m not a pervert! You don’t have to show that!

I protested vigorously, shaking my head, and Blanc tilted his head to the side as if to ask why I was reacting like that.

After expressing my intentions for a long time, Blanc, looking at me, finally spoke in a clear voice.

“It’s time to go back now.”

The time Emmett had already warned me about.

Before leaving today, I made an effort to create as many good memories as possible with Albert.

I wanted there to be many happy memories for him so that he could remember them.

I wanted to see the future Albert.

As much as I wanted to return quickly before, I wasn’t yet a complete contractor, so all I could do was trust and wait for Blanc.

A month had passed since I arrived in the past.

When Albert and I had talked deeply about our lives back in the restaurant, he told me that the person he had met when he was young had stayed with him for about a month.

His words aligned perfectly with the situation.

Now it was time for us to part ways.

I bit my lip. It wouldn’t be easy to say goodbye to him.

For the sake of his future, I needed to leave immediately, but I couldn’t imagine how Albert would endure this difficult time as he would be left alone.

Nevertheless, it had to be done.

“Albert.”

Albert was taken aback by my words. He held onto my wrist tightly, as if he had already anticipated what was coming.

“You promised not to go.”

“Albert, we have to part ways.”

At my words, Albert’s face was filled with hurt. It felt like my heart was being torn apart.

“Don’t go. Please, don’t go.”

He shook his head as if denying reality. He clung to my wrist with both hands, almost hanging on.

“How can I bear it if you leave? How can I endure it all by myself?”
