In this state, we could still cause chaos among the people. But as Blanc suggested this seriously, I agreed.

I was curious about how Blanc would look as a human though.

After closing his eyes and focusing, Blanc instantly polymorphed into a human.

“Wow…”

I was so used to Albert’s dazzling features already, so I thought that I wouldn’t be impressed by anything else anymore.

But I couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration at Blanc’s transformation.

Before me stood a beauty with an elegance different from Albert’s handsome looks.

Everything about him harked back to his pure white characteristics. His hair, flowing down to his waist, resembled his silvery mane but with a hint of pale blue.

His light sky-blue eyes were bright, too.

And despite the appearance of a snowy winter, his eyes, slightly raised as if drowsy, exuded a warm atmosphere like a spring breeze.

The pure white robe he was wearing also looked truly regal.

His slightly raised eyes met mine as he spoke,

“Shall we go?”

“…Do clothes just automatically appear?”

Upon hearing that he would polymorph, I was worried that it meant he wouldn’t be wearing clothes.

This was a crucial matter considering how Blanc had always been somewhat awkward with human concepts.

“I polymorphed according to… the image in my mind.”

So, Blanc would need to buy clothes. This gave me a reason to revisit Crowell’s shop later. I felt my heart swell, thinking that this could be another source of happiness I could bring into Blanc’s life.

“Let’s go shopping for clothes later.”

Blanc nodded eagerly with a passionate expression on his face.

“Okay. I liked that hat, but I lost it, and I’m sad…”

Blanc sighed, reminiscing about the hat Crowell had given him. I felt the same way.

“All right, let’s go.”

Blanc and I descended quietly onto the street, dissolving our invisibility spells as we merged into the crowd. It was hard to believe that this bustling marketplace used to be an open field just less than a year ago.

I couldn’t fathom what events had transpired over the past year. Was this normal?

Before meeting Albert, I decided it was important to gather information about the current situation. I listened closely to what people would say.

However, everyone around us was just praising Albert.

“Long live to His Imperial Majesty!”

“Emperor Albert is truly extraordinary…”

However, the title they used to address him sounded strange. It wasn’t ‘His Royal Majesty’ but His ‘Imperial Majesty’.

It wasn’t a title typically used for addressing a king, but rather someone who ruled multiple nations as an empe…ror.

…What?

As far as I knew, this book’s content didn’t include any conquests of other countries. It was a healing romance fantasy where the female lead captivated the tastes of the king and those around him with the power of Korean food.

The more I listened, the more anxious I became. I needed to get to the palace as soon as possible, but the conversations around me were getting more and more shocking.

“His Majesty just passed through Kotuar and is on their way to conquer the northern and southern countries, right?”

“Now he’s become the emperor who unified the entire continent. How fortunate are we to live in the country where His Imperial Majesty was born…”

The voices filled with awe reminded me of Schubert. It seemed like Albert’s devoted fanbase had expanded exponentially.

No, but… Why did he start unifying other countries? Could he have had dreams of conquest during my absence?

I found it hard to believe that he had dreamed of unifying nations while I was away. This was ridiculous. I needed to reevaluate my thoughts.

He wouldn’t have given up on me so easily. I still vividly remembered his determination to do everything in his power to keep me from dying.

What if Albert thought I was still alive?

So, he embarked on a mission to find me? He searched the entire continent, conquering nations along the way?

The idea seemed implausible. I reconsidered my assumptions.

If Albert knew I was alive, this would be a different story. I had no way of knowing what had happened to Rosé’s dark magic circle.

Regardless, my determination to meet Albert had grown stronger.

However, there was a problem.

Albert wasn’t in the capital right now.

I could ask around to find out his current location and teleport there, but there was a chance we might cross paths while he was on his way back to the capital.

For now, it might be best to wait for his return.

I also needed to meet people like Liam, Schubert, and Mercy to gather more information.

Right now, I was essentially an unknown foreigner with no identity.

I had money— Or well… it was all in Rosé Artius’s name. Becoming a dragon’s contractor didn’t suddenly make money appear, and using magic to create money was illegal.

Thinking about the other people I left behind… The first person who came to mind was Mercy.

She was someone who had tried to attack Rosé alongside Albert, and we had an easygoing, sister-like relationship.

Of course, she might be surprised by my changed appearance. But I had Blanc with me.

If she wouldn’t believe his polymorphed appearance, he could just show his adult dragon form. And the markings on the back of my hand could serve as evidence, too.

Proving my identity shouldn’t be too difficult.

If I could just meet them.
