Mei Chao Bing didn’t need to wait long to find out. In less than ten minutes, they already stood at the edge of the Teng Yong Sect. Right now, the gates were deserted, not one of the disciples usually standing there to guard them anywhere in sight. Well, he should not have expected anything else. After all, this wasn’t the actual Teng Yong Sect, it was merely a dream even if right now, it might not seem like it. He turned to look at blue butterfly, wondering what she would do next.

The guardian of the Jian Chun Sect also turned to him, faintly raising her brows. “Right now, where are you?”

Naturally, she was talking about where in the Teng Yong Sect he currently was so Mei Chao Bing didn’t waste any words and just led her over there. It was weird. This way of traveling where one step could cover a long distance … he had trouble getting it right at first. When wanting to go up that hill where he lived, he accidentally overshot, coming to stand on the other side. He furrowed his brows and tried again, finally reaching the entrance after all.

Blue butterfly smiled at that. “Not bad. Most people need longer to get the hang of it. No wonder you are right in the middle of all of this.”

Mei Chao Bing wasn’t sure if he should be happy about that or not but he still nodded. Then, he opened the gate for her and walked into the house. Going to the room where he had been, his expression turned strange when he saw himself actually lying there. “Is this supposed to be happening?”

Blue butterfly folded her hands behind her back, looking at his sleeping figure. “Well, it’s not always as simple as this. It depends a bit on the person themselves. When coming here, you were clearly thinking that you were in here, sleeping. Your expectations formed this. After all, I already booted your lover out. This is your dream now.”

Mei Chao Bing looked at her, not sure what to make of that. “Should it not be your dream?” After all, he was only the one who had been pulled inside of it. The one who actually controlled it … wasn’t it blue butterfly?

Blue butterfly shook her head though. “You are thinking of this much too simply. As a guardian with that kind of ability, I don’t really have dreams of my own. What I’m doing … is not exactly dreaming. I am awake and merely visit the dreams of others. I can weave new ones, sure, but it’s still not the same as a normal one.” She sighed when she said that. “I truly miss that, you know? I believe that when I was young, he still had dreams like that. Now, they’re all gone. It’s one more thing that this ability took from me.”

Mei Chao Bing nodded even though he wasn’t sure how to feel about that. As for himself, he probably could’ve done without dreams. How many nights had he seen Elder Wu getting killed? How often had he seen himself being deserted by everyone in the Teng Yong Sect? It would’ve been so nice to just not dream at all if these were the dreams that he had to suffer through.

But then, most people always wished for what they didn’t have and begrudged the things they did have. Blue butterfly might have been content with having the kinds of dreams that he had. At the very least, she could have been a normal person. To her, that was something that she probably would’ve preferred.

He told himself not to think about it too much and then just raised his brows at her. “Well, we’re here now. What are we going to do?” She hadn’t explained anything so he was left to guess. But honestly, right now, he wasn’t sure what it could be. Finding himself in his dream … that was far past any of his expectations.

Blue butterfly smiled and then motioned at the him on the bed. “Well, now, we’re going to get the next passenger. First, we have to wake you up though.”

Before Mei Chao Bing could ask, she had already slapped his back. He stumbled, and the next moment, he woke up and sat up on the bed. His gaze darted around and he finally raised his brows at blue butterfly again. “This …”

She shook her head and just waved at him, turning around and walking out of the room. “Well, let’s go. There’s not that much time left tonight.”

Mei Chao Bing still had no idea what exactly was going on but he still scrambled out of bed and followed her out of the house, hurriedly tying his outer robe.

That ‘next passenger’ should be the black warrior, right? He hadn’t expected to see him again anytime soon but thinking about it for a moment longer, it wasn’t too strange.

Clearly, the question about Luo Lin he had asked before had put her in a bind. She wanted to find out what the deal with that was but she didn’t know where to start. So now, it seemed that she was getting help. And instead of pulling everyone into a dream toward the end of the night, she just went to gather everyone at the same place.

It was smart. It was also something that was only possible because of her ability. It really was convenient, although he wasn’t sure how it would play out in the end. This matter … it seemed a bit too simple. After how much had already gone wrong since this whole mission started, he just didn’t believe that it could be this simple.

He kept quiet, not bothering to mention any of these thoughts. He just told himself to trust in blue butterfly’s judgment and followed her to the area where the black warrior was waiting.

When they approached, he actually got to his feet. “You came by. I thought that you would just pull him into a dream. How come things ended up like this?”

Blue butterfly smiled brightly. “Well, things turned out to be different. Anyway, we gotta go to the border region. Well, that, and we also need to get the other two. So, let’s not waste any time.” Saying so, she dragged Mei Chao Bing over to the platform, sat down next to the black warrior, and closed her eyes.

Mei Chao Bing had no idea what was going on but he sat down as well at the wave of the black warrior and figured that he should just follow instructions. At the moment, all of this was out of his hands. Now, he could only trust that they would know what they were doing, no matter how strange it might seem to him.
