The Elders had nothing left to say. Whether Mei Chao Bing’s plan would work could indeed only be found out when that day came.

Elder Baili simply sighed and then waved for him to leave. “Alright. We’ll leave it up to you. If you need any help, simply say so. We’ll coordinate with you. Now, just go and prepare on your own and spend some time with Fen’er.” Just thinking about how his little disciple and Mei Chao Bing would either be soon separated or the former be in grave danger, he wanted to head over to the headquarters of the demonic sect and choke that damned Feng Bai Xiao. Unfortunately, even if he wanted to, he knew that he couldn’t. The disparity between their strength simply was like that.

Mei Chao Bing nodded at the two Elders and finally left the room. To be honest, he also felt anxious about what was to happen. If it had only been him, he could have faced this with calmness but Yun Bei Fen was involved as well. He didn’t dare to tread anything but lightly.

Returning to the courtyard, Mei Chao Bing found Yun Bei Fen demonstrating his new skills to Xiao Hui and a very bored-looking Da Hei. Seeing his own spiritual beast at the side, Mei Chao Bing heaved a sigh of relief. Well, maybe Yun Bei Fen wasn’t completely helpless. He knew a few skills now and with Da Hei around, he would also be a bit more secure. Although that might not be of any use if Yun Bei Fen was really grabbed by the demonic practitioners. After all, they certainly wouldn’t let him keep Da Hei.

Mei Chao Bing sighed again, this time not feeling as relieved. He should have thought of all these things before he left the Teng Yong Sect. Yun Bei Fen’s second senior martial brother certainly would have had a solution about how to smuggle a spiritual beast in undetected. He just seemed like he would have experimented with something like that long ago.

Unfortunately, it was too late now so he could only focus on the things he could still do while in the border region. At the moment, that only seemed to help Yun Bei Fen with his practice. Later … it would depend on how he managed to deal with his Master.

Mei Chao Bing shook his head to get rid of those thoughts and then went over to sit down at the side of the courtyard, watching Yun Bei Fen practice who was demonstrating his skills with even more relish now that his beloved senior martial brother Mei had arrived to be part of the audience.

Mei Chao Bing looked for signs of something that could be improved but when it came to sword skills, his little bunny was indeed able to copy them perfectly after trying enough times. When he started to practice his spiritual skills though … well, it truly seemed that it was more difficult for him to grasp that.

Mei Chao Bing had no idea how to help him with this. Not in a short amount of time, at least. Usually, disciples would learn them over many years after they entered the sect, continuously improving their grasp on them as they matured and learned more. Yun Bei Fen had never had that chance though and needed to learn all of it at once. Of course, the other problem was his low level which really couldn’t be helped.

When he arrived at this thought, Mei Chao Bing narrowed his eyes. In fact … maybe this could be changed. Wasn’t the reason his Master intended to trap him that he wanted to raise the levels of the people on the demonic side? Well, in that case, why wouldn’t it also work on the righteous side?

Naturally, this way of doing things wasn’t good if done in a big way because it would expose too much information and cause more problems going forward. But if it was only Yun Bei Fen … it might be alright.

Mei Chao Bing took a deep breath, trying to calm down. The idea was there but it would be difficult to execute. For one, he didn’t know exactly how his constitution worked. Somebody of a low level might not be the best person to work with to try this out. After all, if it went wrong, they wouldn’t know how to protect themselves. He didn’t want to see that, especially so if the person in question was Yun Bei Fen.

Two, just raising one’s level didn’t help much if the skills weren’t in place. So even if he raised Yun Bei Fen’s level this way, it might not help much. After all, he might be unable to control the sudden gain in strength.

The only benefit of this idea would be doing it secretly so the other side might be caught off-guard. But then, that would only happen if the people guarding Yun Bei Fen didn’t pay attention to his level or they had a way to mask that which … brought him back to how it would have been great to think of this while still at the Teng Yong Sect.

Mei Chao Bing sighed once again, lamenting that it might have been better to take Yan Hong Min along. Having this kind of resourceful disciple at their side sure would have opened up more ways. Well, since Yun Bei Fen’s second senior martial brother couldn’t help them, he needed to find other ways. Since he currently couldn’t do anything about the second problem, it would be best to deal with the other one first.

He continued to ponder the matter while Yun Bei Fen showed him how far he had gotten with the rest of his spiritual skills and also the arrays that white jade had taught him. When his little bunny finished, Mei Chao Bing got up and nodded.

“Not bad. I can see that you’ve made a lot of progress.” He went over and rubbed his head, thinking that he really had to act. “Alright. I want you to practice for a while longer. In the meantime, I’ll go and take care of one more thing. After I’m done, I’ll come right back and we can check again, alright?”

Yun Bei Fen pursed his lips but still nodded. Anyway, he also knew that right now wasn’t the right time to just latch onto Mei Chao Bing. He just had to work hard for a few more days and then, they could all return to the Teng Yong Sect and he’d have Mei Chao Bing all to himself.
