He stood next to her with his arms on the wall, looking down at her from his tall vantage, and slowly asked, “Are you emotional because I’m against my mother’s recognition of you as a goddaughter?”

“No. Absolutely not.” Gu Siyi immediately denied it. “How could I be upset about such a trivial matter? It doesn’t exist!”

To show fidelity, a bright smiling face was raised. Xia Zhijun looked at her quietly. She felt that the maintenance of her false smile was about to freeze. Finally, she was unable to keep it up, so she stopped smiling and pursed her lips.

Xia Zhijun tapped her forehead with his fingers and continued. “Gu Siyi, you are not good at lying. Because your emotions are written all over your face.”

Gu Siyi pretended to be oblivious. “Really? They are?” But the color of her ears betrayed her poor acting skills. Through the bright moonlight, Xia Zhijun could see every subtle change on the girl’s face.

He raised his hand and pinched her small and round earlobe. Gu Siyi, who was looking left and right with a guilty conscience, was startled as if she were a cat with a tail that got stepped on. She raised her eyes suddenly, staring at Xia Zhijun in a daze and her eyelashes trembled.

Xia Zhijun’s mouth closed with a smile and his thumb and index finger gently pinched her hot earlobe playfully, as if he did not intend to let go. “I also heard that people with their ears pinched can’t tell lies. I want to hear the truth.”

Gu Siyi’s earlobes were getting hotter and hotter. Under this kind of psychological pressure, her little cleverness and hypocrisy could no longer be held. She looked at Xia Zhijun’s toes and quieted her voice. “I am … well, just a little unhappy….”

“Why?” He continued to ask, his hands weren’t idle, the corners of his lips smiled a little vile, but with a bit of satisfaction.

“I feel like I have been denied as if you reject me in your heart. Why do you object to me being your limited-edition-sister Actually, I don’t care. I don’t have to have this status. I just think that it would be better to have more contact with you in the future. So, you can rub off some of your study god aura on me… If you don’t like it forget it, I really don’t have any complaints, sorry if you think I am annoying.” She finally emptied everything held in her heart.

Xia Zhijun chuckled lightly. “So, you actually do have a fragile heart.”

Gu Siyi panicked, took a step back, got out of his grip, and instantly returned with confidence. “I said it doesn’t matter to me! How can I have a glass heart?!”

Xia Zhijun leaned against the wall but smiled silently as if admiring a pet that had been teased to anger.

“I won’t talk to you anymore; I’m going back to sleep.” Gu Siyi muttered and turned away.

“First of all, I don’t hate you.” The young, lazy and refreshing voice came from behind.

Gu Siyi paused.

“Second, there are many ways to get closer to me.”

“For example?” She looked back at him curiously.

“For such a simple question, do I need to write down the answer?”

Gu Siyi snorted lightly. But when she heard Xia Zhijun say that he didn’t hate her, she was still very happy. She walked to the door of the room and turned her head to see that Xia Zhijun was still standing there, leaning lazily against the wall, looking at her with extremely dark deep eyes.

Gu Siyi said: “Go to sleep – Oh, and you play the piano very well.”

The next day, when Gu Siyi was having breakfast with the Xia family’s mother and son, Peng Ling answered the phone.

She put down the phone, looked at Gu Siyi guiltily, and said, “There is something wrong in the unit. I need to be there immediately. I can’t accompany you today.”

The original plan was for her to take them to the science and technology museum in the morning, then to the art exhibition in the afternoon.

“It doesn’t matter, auntie’s work is important, we can go to the museum next time.” Gu Siyi hurriedly said.

Peng Ling smiled, then turned to Xia Zhijun. “You take good care of your sister and head back to school together in the afternoon.”

Xia Zhijun didn’t say a word, his expression showed a hint of coldness.

After Peng Ling left and the two of them finished their breakfasts, Gu Siyi turned to the boy next to her with a question in mind. “Then what are we doing today?”

“Whatever.” Xia Zhijun said lightly, getting up and heading upstairs.

Gu Siyi followed him intently. “Are you unhappy?”

“No.” He didn’t bother looking back.

She didn’t believe him for a second. “Why are you upset? Is it because auntie left?“ Gu Siyi asked almost tauntingly. “No way? You can’t live without your mother when you are such a big man?”

Xia Zhijun paused and turned to look at her, with an impatient expression between his eyebrows and a cold tone. “If you grew up and were to let go of pigeons countless times, wouldn’t you have a psychological aversion to this kind of thing?”

Gu Siyi stared at him blankly, digested his words for a few seconds, and spoke. “Oh, it turns out that you have a glass heart.”

Xia Zhijun: “…”

He took a plush doll and threw it to Gu Siyi.

Gu Siyi caught it and held it firmly in her arms, followed his footsteps upstairs, smiling and persuading. “When I was a child, my parents were often away from home, and they didn’t do what they promised. I’m telling you, the most annoying time was when my mother told me that she would buy me a limited-edition Barbie doll if I got the top ten in the class.”

Xia Zhijun entered the room, Gu Siyi followed him in and continued. “I tried hard to study and had the good luck to get the ninth place, but she said she didn’t expect that I would win, and she couldn’t buy it without pre-preparation. I was angry at the time and wow did I cry a lot. But I worked so hard to get to ninth place, and I took a huge risk in the examination room to peek at the first placed person’s test paper.”

“Huh.” Xia Zhijun couldn’t help but laugh, then he turned around and knocked her head curtly. “Brilliant.”

Gu Siyi clutched her head and said, “you said you weren’t angry? I put my heart and soul into it, and she took it so lightly. So, they are sometimes immature parents, but let’s not think about it, or we’ll get angry easily.”

“You don’t need to educate me.” Xia Zhijun sat in front of his computer and turned it on. When he looked at the black screen, there was a cold light.

He didn’t care anymore. Even if they were busy and blind, they had caused him to suffer without ignorance. The past is in the past. However, today was Gu Siyi’s first visit to the house. He hoped that instead of going back and forth between promises, he could spend a fun weekend with this pure girl.
