Secretary Yoo led Min Jae to his own office where Chairman Lee waited. For some reason, Yoo Joong felt nervous for his boss. Especially with the rumors mentioned earlier, he wouldn't be surprised if the chairman knew about it already. Yoo Joong stole a few quick glances at Min Jae. Apparently, his boss didn't seem to worry about meeting his own father. Perhaps there was really nothing to be nervous about... maybe he was just overreacting.

Secretary Yoo knocked for a few times to announce their arrival before stepping into the spacious office with Min Jae in tow. They instantly recognized the figure of a man upon entering through the threshold. Sitting elegantly on an armchair, the old man waited patiently. He was dressed in a suit that was worth millions! Along with it, he was adorned by his dignity and perfect reputation. The chairman looked very refined that his aura was radiating power and strength. The sight of him alone was very intimidating enough already.

"Chairman Lee." Yoo Joong bowed in respect towards his superior. He had seen Chairman Lee face to face frequently as it is part of his job as Min Jae's secretary. But despite all the circumstances he'd seen him, he still couldn't get used to this man's terrifying status. He couldn't help but feel small whenever he was in the same room as the chairman.

"Leave us." The chairman ordered. His voice resonated within the office walls and Yoo Joong felt his knees slightly tremble. After blinking a few times, Secretary Yoo immediately obeyed and left to give the two some privacy.

The room was silent when Secretary Yoo departed. Min Jae remained rooted to where he was standing, neither speaking a word nor sparing his father a single glance. His hands were simply kept inside his pockets as he waited for his father's next actions. This was a behavior he adapted while growing up. Even as a young boy, he was constantly disciplined by his father that he had learned to always be silent before him unless asked.

Lee Jung Il got up from the chair. He walked past Min Jae and headed towards the great glass window that revealed the glorious city beneath. "When this used to be my office, I would always near this window and look down from this floor of the building." The old man said. Min Jae turned to face his father as he listened to him.

"I was a bit afraid of heights... Regardless, I would force myself to do it." The chairman confessed. He looked down from the window. High above sky, he could only make out tiny shapes moving about on the ground. "I had to remind myself that this company is my empire. This is something that I should always cherish--that I should always protect so that it would never crumble to the ground. We've already made it this high for us to fall... I hope you're not planning on wasting everything we've worked hard for." Lee Jung Il said in a serious tone.

Chairman Lee let out a sigh. Stepping away from the window, he slowly approached his son who still remained silent. Min Jae kept his eyes down. But when he saw his father's polished designer shoes, he lifted his gaze and met the chairman's dark eyes. Lee Jung Il's expression was unreadable. On the other hand, Min Jae struggled to keep his composure as he faced his father.

Without any warning, without even a single word, Lee Jung Il's palm rose and landed a hard slap on Min Jae's cheek. Min Jae was taken aback by the impact that he almost stumbled. Fortunately, he was quick to regain his balance. Min Jae breathed heavily as he sharply looked at his father.

"I hope you didn't expect that the rumors won't get to me." Chairman Lee mockingly said. His eyes were full of disdain as he looked at his son. "Bastard! Look at what you've done! You've tainted not just your reputation but the image of the company as well! You are the face of this business, Min Jae! How could you be so f****** reckless?!"

Another blow landed on Min Jae's other cheek. Because his father wore a ring on one of his fingers, the metal grazed across his skin. A painful sensation immediately followed after yet Min Jae paid no attention to it. Lee Jung Il's hands trembled as he was really infuriated. Having remembered something, he turned once more to his son. "Where's Eun Young?" He asked.

Min Jae refused to reply right away that Lee Jung Il raised his voice this time. "I said where's Eun Young?! Does she know about this? Where's your wife g**damn**!" He exclaimed. His face was beginning to redden now due to the outburst of his emotions.

"She left." Min Jae answered breathlessly. "She... she left."

Chairman Lee scoffed. "You ungrateful piece of sh**!" He cursed. "I didn't raise you to become like this." He said disapprovingly.

Min Jae clenched his fists tightly. All he could do was keep his emotions in. After all, he couldn't defend himself. He couldn't say that the rumors weren't true because he was yet to discover it for himself. This far different from when he was still in a meeting with the board. There, he knew the answers. He could confidently stand before them. But now, in front of his own father, he was speechless. He stood before him ashamed for what he had done.

Lee Jung Il grabbed him by the collar. With anger-filled eyes, he spoke to Min Jae. "Fix this. I don't care how you're going to f****** do it. You made this mess, go clean it up." He let him go and pushed him away.

As if on cue, someone knocked on the door. "Chairman Lee, the car's ready. I'll be out here to accompany you as you return, sir." Lee Jung Il's secretary said from the other side. Chairman Lee fixed his coat and brushed off the wrinkles that were beginning to form in his suit. In an instant, he had returned to the character of being the seamless chairman.

"Fix this immediately." Jung Il warned. "Else, I will not hesitate to take action." And with that, the man turned to his heel and exited the office.
