Blair chuckled a bit while his life points lowered. “My Maiden in Love’s effect activates! She can’t be destroyed by battle when she is in attack mode! And the monster that attacked her gains a Maiden Counter!”

Zane squinted while thinking from what I could tell from this distance, but came to a conclusion. “Then I attack your monster with my Cyber Dragon!” He declared his attack and much of the same happened again.

Another counter was placed on the Cyber Dragon, and Zane placed a card face down to end his turn. I looked over to see Blair was sweating a bit. He seemed like he was in over his head, and full of anxiety. I couldn’t watch the poor kid get beaten to a pulp without even getting a single hit point on the top dog. If he got a high score, then he should do some damage. I walked over to them dueling, which caught Blair’s attention first, and then Zane looked back to notice me. “Yo!” I yelled as I came over.
Zane frowned a bit while seeing me, and Blair seemed to be confused and even more anxious than before. “Is this, your doing?” Zane asked me. I gave him a look of confusion then shook my head while scoffing. “No, surprisingly enough, I do have a life outside of you.” Zane rolled his eyes while looking back towards Blair. “I’m here to give him some advice.” I pointed towards Blair, and Zane scoffed from remembering my ‘advice’ earlier.
Blair was confused and seemed to be embarrassed that I found him like this. He looked down, and refused to meet my gaze after I walked over to him. I sighed and hit his arm. He jumped a bit while rubbing his arm. “You’ve already given up.” I said to him as he just stared down at his feet. “I don’t know why you want to duel Zane, nor do I care. But what I don’t like, is seeing how someone who got high scores on their transfer tests, not get a single point of damage!” He jumped a bit from my change of tone, and I saw his gaze move over to my feet.
“Are you gonna just let him beat you without even touching him!?” I asked Blair as he shook his head slightly, and mumbled something. “I’m sorry what? I couldn’t hear you over the waves.” I asked in a slightly mocking tone to get him to speak up. “No…” He said it a little louder, but still quiet. “Are you asking me, or telling me!?” I yelled to get him more prepared. “No! I want to tell him my feelings!!” He yelled as he looked up at me with fire in his eyes.
“That’s the spirit!!... Wait what?” I said as I did a double take to see Blair take off that hat of his to showcase all of the hair she was hiding under it. An orange bandana that kept her hair in a ponytail helped remind me of who she was. I felt so stupid from not seeing it earlier. “Blair… Is a girl.” I sighed and covered my eyes with my hand to hide the shame of not seeing this trope a mile away. Zane was shocked too, he recognized Blair as soon as he saw her natural appearance.
“I Draw!!” She yelled with new fervor. “Now I activate the equip spell, Cupid’s Kiss! I equip it to my Maiden in Love to have her when she attacks your monster with a maiden counter to have him fall in love with her, and join her!! Next I activate my other equip spell, United we Stand!! This adds 800 attack and defense points for every other monster that I have on the field!!
“Next I use my other spell card Double Attack!! This allows me to send one monster of a higher level to the graveyard, and gives my Maiden of Love another attack for this turn, and I sacrifice my Ancient Elf!! And finally I attack your Proto-Cyber Dragon with my Maiden in Love!!” I looked down to see all of the spells on the field, and watched as the Maiden in love cutely slapped the giant metal Dragon. When she did I saw the life points of Blair fall lower as she smiled.

The dragon slowly came over to her side of the field, and as he did I saw Maiden’s attack increasing substantially.

“It’s still not enough, but once I play my last equip spell, then my love will be shown to you!!” She yelled in a giggly expression as she pulled out her last spell card. “Happy Wedding!!” I couldn’t help but smile at Zane’s embarrassed expression from all of these cards, and how this girl was declaring her love. “I can activate this equip card, only on my Maiden in Love, and with that happy day she gains the attack points of my sweet Zane’s monster!!” She smiled more happily as Maiden in Love gained the Dragon’s attack points to her own.

Both Zane and I were surprised from the sudden increase in damage, managing to outclass his Cyber Dragon. “Now!! My Maiden in Love will destroy the barriers of your heart!! Maiden! Attack his Cyber Dragon!!” We all watched as Blair’s Maiden in Love ran up to the giant dragon, and gave it a loving hug as it disintegrated, and Zane lost his Life Points.

Blair giggled more as her smile widened. “Now I attack you with Proto-Cyber Dragon!!” Blair pointed towards Zane, as his love struck monster followed Blair’s orders. It flew over quickly, and whipped Zane with its tail.

I watched in awe, from how this girl could really make the top student sweat. “Now I place one card face down, and end my turn!! Your move honey!!” I scoffed from the sudden change in demeanor she had, and how much Zane was embarrassed from it all. He only had a frown, but I could tell he was embarrassed. “I Draw!” Zane yelled as he took another card from his deck. He looked at his cards for a second before nodding with a plan.
“First I summon Cyber Phoenix in attack mode!” I then saw a giant metal bird soar through the air onto the field.

“Next I use the spell card pot of greed, to draw two more cards!” He did just that, and nodded again at his hand. “I activate the spell card polymerization! Fusing both Cyber Dragons in my hand to create Cyber Twin Dragon!!” With that I saw both Cyber Dragons appear on the field, and watched as both morphed into each other, and with a blinding flash, I saw a Cyber Dragon with two heads, and way more attack points.

“I hope that trap can do something Blair.” I said while staring at the beast in front of us. “Now! Cyber Twin Dragon! Attack Proto-Cyber Dragon, and win this Duel!!” It was at this point that Blair yelled. “Not so fast! I activate my trap! Defense Maiden! If there is a Maiden monster on the field, you have to attack her instead!! And if you do attack her, then your monster will fall in love too!!” The trap card went up, but I didn’t feel like it would save her.
“Unfortunately for you… My Cyber Phoenix makes all traps, and spells targeting machine type monsters useless…” Zane said as his Cyber Twin Dragon continued his attack on the Proto-Cyber Dragon. And with that the Duel was over.
