On the first day after returning from the United States, An Wuyu got up early in the morning to start cleaning the house. She began in the living room, then went to her own room, her parents’ room, and her two younger brothers’ rooms.

Among them, the rooms of her younger brothers were the messiest. Two boys, and they hadn’t even bothered to clean the windows.

At this moment, it was the afternoon, and her younger brother had gone to his tutoring class. An Wuyu was the only one at home.

Wearing rubber gloves, she took care of the cleaning, starting with organizing her desk and wardrobe.

She took advantage of the good weather to wash the clothes that needed cleaning.

“Hmm?” An Wuyu blinked her eyes and saw a pile of exquisite bags with prominent logos lying inside her younger brother’s closet. She was stunned when she took a closer look and saw Dior, Gucci, Givenchy labels on clothes, shoes, hats, and accessories.

One or two items would have been acceptable, but there was a whole pile…

An Wuyu’s hands trembled as she took out her phone and easily found these styles on the official websites. She got the specific prices and roughly estimated the value of this heap of things, which was worth several tens of thousands.

Her first suspicion was whether these things were genuine.

As a fashion-savvy girl, An Wuyu had once deliberately learned about identifying the authenticity of luxury brands; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to recognize these labels so easily.

She felt that they were real, but she couldn’t be certain because they were found in her younger brother’s closet, which was almost impossible.

“Jiao Jiao,” An Wuyu sent a WeChat video to her wealthy friend. “Can you take a look and tell me if these things are genuine?”

There were a total of three short videos, showing five items in detail.

In a voice message, Jiao Jiao replied, “They’re genuine. These white Jivanshi sneakers, my brother has a pair. They’re from this year’s collection and cost over nine thousand.”

She followed up with another message, “So many luxury items, whose are these?”

This was a question An Wuyu also wanted to know, but it certainly couldn’t be An Wuyu’s family’s, as they couldn’t afford such things.

“I have no idea whose they are,” she replied in a voice message. “Thank you, Jiao Jiao.”

After some thought, she put the items back in place and continued with her chores.

At around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Lafayette Castle Hotel.

Because An Wuyang mentioned that the food here was delicious, Huo Yunchuan brought him back to eat.

An Wuyang had ordered a soup he hadn’t tried before. When he opened it and took a sip, his brows furrowed, and he quickly picked up an empty bowl to spit out the soup.

Huo Yunchuan asked in surprise, “Did you burn your mouth?”

An Wuyang wanted to say it wasn’t the case and opened his mouth but ended up vomiting with a “retch” sound.

Huo Yunchuan immediately stood up, came over to support him, and led him to the private restroom in the box. “Vomit here.”

An Wuyang was leaning over the edge of the sink, trembling, and crying as he vomited.

He had thrown up all the dried figs he had eaten in the afternoon.

It was quite disgusting.

Huo Yunchuan stood by his side, supporting An Wuyang’s waist, with a furrowed brow. It wasn’t because he was disgusted; at times like this, he was beyond being disgusted. He handed some tissues to An Wuyang’s mouth to help him clean up.

Not knowing what to say, An Wuyang could only wait for the nausea to subside.

During this process, An Wuyang felt really uncomfortable. The constant retching had strained his stomach muscles, and he was in pain, even struggling to breathe.

After a long while, he weakly said, “I think I’m okay now.”

Huo Yunchuan heard him and reached over to turn on the tap, wetting a tissue for him to clean his mouth. “Rinse your mouth yourself.”

An Wuyang complied and, after doing so, raised his head to look at himself in the mirror. His cheeks were pale, and his eyes were red, making him look quite miserable.

Huo Yunchuan secretly sighed and helped him back to the table, ordering a mild soup for him.

He served vegetables and tofu to the teenager, making it easier for him to digest, ensuring that he could eat without any issues.

“Why are you only giving me vegetables?” An Wuyang was at an age when he was growing and, having thrown up everything earlier, his stomach was now empty and he was particularly eager to eat meat. “This fish doesn’t look too greasy.” He used his chopsticks to pick up a whole piece of sea bass belly.

Huo Yunchuan: “…”

It felt as if he were witnessing someone who remembered to eat but not to be punished.

However, he also thought that this sight was adorable.

The man eating alongside him observed secretly and felt tempted for a moment to record this scene.

“Why aren’t you eating?” An Wuyang asked. He had finished one bowl and was now reaching for a second helping.

Huo Yunchuan said, “I am eating.” He quietly rubbed his chest, thinking that this angelic young man who initiated second helpings was incredibly cute. “Eat more. If you like the food here, we can come back next time.”

“Okay,” An Wuyang agreed and focused on the spare ribs in his hand, not noticing Mr. Huo’s unusual reaction.

He looked at the time and put down his chopsticks as soon as it was 5:30 PM. Even if he hadn’t eaten enough, he could eat more at home.

Huo Yunchuan escorted the well-fed teenager to the 22nd floor and said, “Tomorrow is Saturday, I’ll take you for your prenatal check-up.”

An Wuyang was momentarily stunned but nodded and agreed, “Okay.” He couldn’t avoid the prenatal check-up, although he was a bit resistant and fearful.

He walked out with his head down, and Huo Yunchuan followed him. He placed his hands on the young man’s shoulders, finally doing something he had been wanting to do. He ruffled An Wuyang’s hair and said, “Don’t overthink it. I’ll be with you.”

An Wuyang had never really been touched on the head before in his life. He sighed in resignation, wondering when Mr. Huo would stop treating him like a child.

“See you tomorrow,” he said, feeling slightly better.

Huo Yunchuan replied, “See you tomorrow.”

He pressed the elevator button and watched it closely, making sure that the teenager had indeed entered his apartment before he let go.

“I’m back,” An Wuyang said, just as he usually did. He changed his shoes and went into his room.

Not long after, someone knocked on his door. He opened it to find his sister, saying, “What’s up, sis?”

An Wuyu walked in and closed the door. “I was cleaning today, and I opened your closet,” she said, testing the waters. She noticed her younger brother’s expression change immediately.

“You saw it?” An Wuyang said, understanding what she meant. “It was given to me by someone.”

An Wuyu held her arms and asked, “Who gave it to you, and how much was it worth?”

An Wuyang hadn’t really calculated the total value of all those items. Hearing his sister’s words, he was quite surprised. “Worth that much?”

It seemed that he didn’t even know the total value of these items. An Wuyang’s sister became even more frustrated. “You accepted things without knowing their value? This is a big deal!”

At first, An Wuyang didn’t think much of it, but now he genuinely regretted accepting the items. He said, “I really didn’t know, I’ll give them back tomorrow.”

An Wuyu asked, “Give them back to who?”

An Wuyang took out the whole set meant for his sister, saying, “A girl who’s interested in me.”

His sister was left speechless, examining her younger brother from head to toe. She had never really paid attention to him before, but now she noticed that he looked fair and handsome, quite eye-catching. With a bit of grooming, he could truly stand out.

“A talented girl is pursuing you?” An Wuyang’s sister said with a teasing tone. “You might want to consider it if you like her.”

After all, this was a good thing. Even if he didn’t put in much effort, he could have a better life.

“I’m not considering it,” An Wuyang said, “Don’t tell Mom.”

He knew his mom was quite practical, and if she found out that he had a suitor from a well-off family, she would definitely encourage him to pursue it.

An Wuyang’s sister asked, “What’s wrong? Is she not attractive?” Her thoughts were more modern. “If you don’t like her, then that’s up to you; just don’t regret it.”

Since it was a gift from a young girl, she advised, “You should keep the items, just make sure you clarify things and don’t offend anyone.”

In her opinion, if he hadn’t accepted them initially, there was no need to accept them now. However, since he had accepted them, there was no need to return them.

“I know,” An Wuyang decided in his heart that he would let Mr. Huo take them back tomorrow.

In the evening, the family had dinner together. Their father, An Cheng, was particularly happy, and he took turns serving dishes to his three children. He remarked, “It feels like it’s been a while since our family had dinner together.”

Upon reflection, it was true. Ding Wei smiled and said, “Isn’t tomorrow Saturday? Our family’s uncles from your father’s side are celebrating a wedding. We can attend the banquet together.”

Her husband asked, “You mean Uncle Ma?” That side of the family was quite close, and An Wuyu had no objections. He said, “Sure, why not?”

Whenever they attended such family gatherings, she would become the center of attention, outshining all the other relatives’ children.

“Let Wuyang come as well. Take the day off tomorrow,” Ding Wei said, arranging things without question.

An Wuyang was a bit confused because he remembered that he had plans to go for a check-up with Huo Yunchuan tomorrow.

“Is it for lunch?” he asked.

“It’s for lunch,” An Cheng replied.

“It’s just a bit far,” Ding Wei said, “We’ll have to wake up early tomorrow, and you might not get back until around four or five in the afternoon.”

An Cheng chuckled, “Luckily, it’s not on Sunday; otherwise, you’d have to rush back to work, which would be exhausting.”

However, their second son secretly wished it were on Sunday to avoid standing up Huo Yunchuan.

After dinner, An Wuyang returned to his room and sent a text message to Huo Yunchuan.

Mr. Huo, I have something to tell you, please don’t be angry.

With a “dong” sound, Huo Yunchuan received the message and raised an eyebrow.

“What is it?” he asked.

“I can’t go for the prenatal check-up tomorrow. There’s a family event at my house. Can we do it on Sunday?” [Frowning]

Huo, the CEO, stared at the bright expression on the other end, and an image of the other person with puffed-up cheeks from eating flashed in his mind.

“What kind of family event is it? What do you need to do?”

“It’s just a car ride and a meal. I’ll be careful with my health on the way.”

An Wuyang assured him.

“Go take a bath, I’ll call you in the evening.”

Without giving a direct response, he meant they would discuss it over the phone.

An Wuyang sighed softly. He didn’t really want to go out, because the unpredictable things that could happen on a long journey.

What if he vomits? What if he faints?

After the other person finished bathing and they were on the call, Huo Yunchuan frowned heavily and said, “No.”

His attitude was very firm.

“Mr. Huo…” An Wuyang’s soft voice came through the phone, “My family hasn’t had a group activity in almost a year. They might not care whether I attend or not, but I do.”

He cleverly added, “How about you promise to let me go, and I’ll move in with you when I come back?”

Huo Yunchuan, upon hearing this, was both stunned and annoyed, “…” Such a dilemma, how the hell is anyone supposed to make a choice.
