That’s why An Wuyang appeared fearless. He felt that it wasn’t suitable for them to live together, given the ambiguity of their situation. After all, two people who had been intimate were sharing a room, which was already quite ambiguous. But since the other person had already moved his luggage in, he didn’t want to seem troublesome by refusing.

An Wuyang, who considered himself considerate and sensible, raised his hand and then put it down, saying, “Okay, but I might not sleep very well. If you don’t mind, I’d be happy to share your room.”

These words had a touch of wickedness and a sly undertone.

Huo Yunchuan, after placing his luggage, nodded and said, “I might be even less honest when I sleep, but I’ll try to control myself.” He needed to stay calm.

“Um? Oh, you can put your clothes there, I’ll arrange them myself,” An Wuyang hurriedly approached, taking back the underwear that belonged to him from Huo Yunchuan’s hand and putting it behind him.

It was quite embarrassing.

When the cotton underwear that his fingertips had just touched was taken away, only a soft sensation remained.

“No need, let Aunt Zhang take care of it for you,” Huo Yunchuan explained when he met the young man’s inquiring gaze. “She’s the housekeeper.”

“Okay…” An Wuyang looked at him and then cast a hopeful glance toward the living room where they had their breakfast. They had breakfast waiting for them on the spacious table.

“…” Huo Yunchuan chuckled dryly, glaring at him and saying, “You’re incredibly naive.” Then he put on his usual expression and added, “Let’s go.”

An Wuyang was left bewildered but followed along.

He knew that being called “naive” was not a compliment. It was probably similar to the way his sister saw him, meaning she found him annoying. If it were before he turned sixteen and faced such disdain, he would probably have cried.

However, over the past two years, he had experienced some things and learned not to mind it. Now he was living happily because he had come to terms with being an ordinary person. He had reconciled with the outside world and with his inner self.

The current An Wuyang had quit his job, no longer worrying about making money, and was leading a relaxed and joyful life.

He poured a warm glass of soy milk and placed it in front of Huo Yunchuan. “Mr. Huo, this is for you.”

The Huo CEO, who had just seemed quite disapproving, received the glass of soy milk as if he had found a treasure. What made it even better was that An Wuyang had bought the soy milk with his own money.

“Thank you,” Huo Yunchuan said, holding the glass and taking a slow sip, which also seemed to soften the often calm look in his eyes. At the same time, it made his handsome facial features less severe.

“Many people must have told you… you’re very handsome,” An Wuyang praised him spontaneously, sitting across from him, and he didn’t see anything wrong with complimenting someone genuinely.

“Cough, cough, cough…” A mouthful of soy milk went down the wrong way, and Huo Yunchuan coughed violently, almost choking.

“Are you okay?” An Wuyang was flustered, quickly pulling out a tissue and handing it to him, while also wiping off the soy milk that had sprayed on his own face. It was an embarrassing moment.

“Cough, cough…” Huo Yunchuan leaned on the table, finally recovering after a while. His eyes were moist as he stared at the young man. His thoughts were in turmoil. This person had praised him twice in one morning, calling him either a true man or handsome. He was about to die from this.

“Mr. Huo, there’s a piece of paper stuck to your forehead,” An Wuyang pointed out and then reached over to remove it. “Ah, it’s the paper liner from the steamed bun.”

As his fingertips brushed across Huo Yunchuan’s forehead, they stayed there for a moment, gentle and soft.

Huo Yunchuan felt as though he’d been struck by lightning. His body stiffened briefly, and then he stood up, his voice sounding unusual. “I’m going to wash my face.”

“Alright,” An Wuyang replied after a moment, and then realized that his own face had been affected as well. He got up to follow Huo Yunchuan.

When he saw that the bathroom door wasn’t properly closed, he was about to say “Huo…” but what he saw immediately rendered him speechless.

After secretly observing for a few seconds, An Wuyang, who had left in shock, couldn’t help but think: “Mr. Huo is indeed a real man.”

He found his way to the kitchen and washed his sticky, hot cheeks. As men, inadvertently seeing Mr. Huo’s “treasure” didn’t make him shy, but it did make him a bit uncomfortable as he remembered the reason he was here.

Fortunately, when Huo Yunchuan came out, he seemed no different from his usual self. He just didn’t make much eye contact with An Wuyang.

At exactly 8 o’clock, the housekeeper, Auntie Zhang, whom Huo Yunchuan had hired, arrived. She was a middle-aged woman with short hair, looking pleasant and amiable.

“Hello, Mr. Huo,” Auntie Zhang greeted with a warm smile, then her gaze turned to An Wuyang. This must be the person Mr. Huo wanted her to take good care of. He looked surprisingly young and gave a sense of surprise.

“Hello, Auntie Zhang. I’m called Wuyang,” An Wuyang introduced himself. He was actually quite cheerful and not as introverted and reserved as his family thought.

Auntie Zhang nodded. “Young Master Wuyang, it’s nice to meet you.”

An Wuyang felt awkward and uncertain. He turned to the somewhat dazed man beside him and said, “Say something.”

Huo Yunchuan snapped out of it and also gazed at Auntie Zhang. He said, “Listen to him, just call him Wuyang, it’s fine.”

Taking advantage of the opportunity, An Wuyang asked, “So, can I call you by your name too?” After all, it was strange to keep calling him “Mr. Huo” all the time.

Huo Yunchuan, who was already numb from all the teasing, nodded, clearing his throat lightly. “You can call me whatever makes you happy.” He glanced at his wristwatch, then told Auntie Zhang, “Take good care of him, you know what to do.”

“Yes, Mr. Huo, don’t worry,” Auntie Zhang replied with a nod, casting a meaningful look at An Wuyang at the same time.

Huo Yunchuan had discussed the situation with Auntie Zhang and sternly emphasized the need for confidentiality.

“I’m heading to the office,” Huo Yunchuan said, lifting his foot to leave. He took a couple of steps, then stopped and said his goodbyes to An Wuyang. “I’ll be back at 5:30 in the afternoon to have dinner with you. Auntie Zhang will take care of you during that time. If you need anything, just give me a call.”

“Wait, Huo… Yunchuan,” An Wuyang, who had been oblivious to these arrangements, approached him and looked at Huo Yunchuan’s face. “Can I go out normally during the day?”

He wanted to defend his personal freedom. If the answer was no, he’d have to fight for it.

Hearing his name from An Wuyang’s mouth for the first time, Huo Yunchuan’s breath stopped briefly. He took a deep breath and said, “When you want to go out, call me, and I’ll take you out.”

“Alright,” An Wuyang nodded and stepped back. He said goodbye softly, “Goodbye, come back early this afternoon.” Being alone in an unfamiliar environment with his only acquaintance leaving immediately, he felt a bit uncomfortable.

Seeing the angelic face filled with reluctance, Huo Yunchuan’s heart ached, and he wished he could decide not to go to the office today. But, in the end, it was better to get it over with sooner rather than later.

“Goodbye,” he walked past An Wuyang, opened the door, and left.

“Um…”

As soon as he heard the angel’s voice, Mr. Huo immediately pushed open the door that he had just closed, looking nervous. “What is it?”

An Wuyang said, “Baby says goodbye to you,” raised his hand, waved, and gave a little smile. “That’s all.”

He closed the door with a huff, entered the elevator, and Huo Yunchuan, who was on his way to work, realized it. He found a secluded corner, shook his shoulders, and laughed freely.

He updated his long-neglected Moments (a feature similar to a Facebook wall) with a single post: “Happy.”

Jiang Shaofei, who was the first to see the update, had heard a bit about An Wuyang’s moving yesterday and left a comment, “Congratulations! [Go for it/][Go for it/]”

Ji Mingjue, upon seeing the update, was utterly bewildered. “Damn, these two are communicating through secret signals behind their brothers’ backs!”

He commented, “Yunchuan, what good thing happened? You only told Shaofei and not me!”

Chen Chu stayed in the office and left a comment casually: “I don’t know either.”

Jiang Shaofei could also see these comments, but he didn’t express his opinion. He could only remain silent.

Huo Yunchuan chose to keep this information to himself for a reason. He wanted to wait until the results of the checkup were available before telling his close friends.

Besides, he didn’t want to inform Ji Mingjue, the bigmouth of the group, for fear of a slip of the tongue.

This idea ran through Huo Yunchuan’s mind, and his expression darkened because Ji Mingjue lived right across from his home. Keeping it from him would require moving out.

An Wuyang, who had never left his own home since he was born, watched as Huo Yunchuan left, leaving him alone with the unfamiliar Auntie Zhang.

“An Wuyang, Mr. Huo mentioned that you just moved in today. Do you have luggage to unpack?” Auntie Zhang asked gently, her tone warm. She gave the child a quick look and noted his delicate and handsome features.

As for other matters, she was just a housekeeper and had no intention of being nosy.

An Wuyang nodded and said, “Yes, I have two boxes. I’ll unpack my clothes myself. After all, it’s better to take care of personal belongings.”

After greeting Auntie Zhang, he entered the room, and everything around him was unfamiliar. It was a world of difference from his small room back at home.

He indeed felt a bit out of place.

An Wuyang took out his phone and called his mom. After a long ring, she finally answered, “Hello?”

It was his mother’s familiar voice, and he greeted her, saying, “Mom? I’ve arrived at my classmate’s house. Have you all eaten?”

“Is that you, Wuyang? We’ve already eaten,” Ding Wei replied. “Just behave nicely at your friend’s place, be polite and considerate, and be a bit more diligent. Don’t act like you’re a guest. Do you understand?”

An Wuyang responded, “Yes, I understand.”

He wanted to ask his dad and siblings what they were up to, but his mom said, “I’m quite busy at the moment. I’ll hang up now. Enjoy your time with your friends.”

An Wuyang sighed and said, “Okay, Mom. Goodbye.”

Beneath him was a soft and expensive Simmons mattress, but he couldn’t help but miss home. If nothing unexpected happened, he wouldn’t have many chances to return home in the next two years.

He wasn’t sure if everyone who had just left home felt this way, but he could only describe his inner feelings as heavy and suffocating, as if he couldn’t breathe.
