It’s not that An Wuyang particularly liked watching Korean dramas, but the scenes were exquisitely made and the content was interesting. So he just casually watched for a moment, without any deep fascination that would make him lose his appetite.

However, just as he glanced at it for a moment, the male and female leads in the drama were arguing fiercely, and then a romantic background music started playing. They began to passionately kiss, leaving An Wuyang utterly shocked.

“Change the channel,” a suppressed command came from behind, while a hand snatched the remote control from the little friend’s hand, switching to the news channel without a word.

In An Wuyang’s memory, this scene seemed strangely familiar.

It was from a distant childhood memory when he was watching a comedy film with his father and younger brother. The movie included a rather suggestive scene with a woman wearing stockings and a bra, playfully inviting a man to taste some grapes placed on her chest.

The young An Wuyang, who held the remote control, was immediately ordered by his father to change the channel. However, his father eventually took the remote control and switched it himself.

Seeing Huo Yunchuan doing the same thing today, it reminded him of his father.

They say that the bond between a father and son can sometimes be even closer than that between a mother and son, as it combines the warmth of a parent-child relationship with a shared understanding as men.

Thinking about this, An Wuyang took a quiet bite of melon.

The man sitting beside him had a somewhat dark look in his eyes, filled with complexity and consideration. It was impossible to change the channel; Korean dramas could be detrimental to young people’s views on love and even their sexual orientation.

“Don’t eat anymore,” Huo Yunchuan took away the salad bowl from the table and put it in the kitchen.

After preparing the meal, Mrs. Zhang brought it to them, and it was only half-past five. “Mr. Huo, I’ll leave now. You can leave the dishes and cutlery in the sink for now, and I’ll come back to wash them tomorrow.”

This was Huo Yunchuan’s intention, otherwise Mrs. Zhang wouldn’t dare to ask. She understood it well in her heart. Mr. Huo was rarely home during the day, and he only had time to have dinner with his family in the evening. Naturally, he didn’t want to be disturbed.

So she left quietly.

The food was delicious, at least much better than what An Wuyang had been eating at home in the past few days. Whether it was the ingredients or the taste, he loved it.

Sweet and sour to whet the appetite, savory and satisfying, the vegetables were just okay.

Huo Yunchuan couldn’t stand watching the little angel’s habit of picking and choosing his food, so he couldn’t help himself. “Eat some greens.”

But the bok choy was lightly blanched and didn’t have much flavor. An Wuyang looked at the half-eaten piece of bok choy next to his lips. He was weighing the consequences of giving face or not giving face, but in the end, he opened his mouth and bit the tip of Mr. Huo’s chopsticks.

Huo Yunchuan tightened his fingers around the chopsticks, becoming even more cautious and feeding with great care. “How much did you eat for lunch?”

An Wuyang replied, “Two small bowls.” In addition, he added, “A whole plate of big prawns. I think Aunt Zhang ate four or five, and the rest I ate.”

With his robust appetite, the CEO was pleased, “Did you vomit?” He asked nervously.

“No,” An Wuyang chuckled. “With prawns so expensive, who could bear to vomit?”

Huo Yunchuan’s chopsticks paused slightly, and his heart sank a bit. While continuing to eat calmly, he inquired, “Are your parents okay? What do they do for a living?”

As An Wuyang was enjoying his meal, he was cautious in his response, “They are doing well. They work for a large corporation, but I’m not sure about the specifics.” He didn’t want to reveal that his parents worked under the Huo family.

“Is that so?” In other words, it seemed that An Wuyang’s family was at least a middle-class family and shouldn’t be in a situation where they couldn’t afford prawns or didn’t want to use the air conditioning, let alone a young person working a part-time job.

The older man, who had been pondering this question, took a deep breath and his mind cleared. “How often do your parents talk to you in a month?”

An Wuyang was left dumbfounded.

Talk? He slowly turned his eyes, feigning interest in Huo Yunchuan’s expression. The other man was also looking at him, but he couldn’t discern any ulterior motives.

An Wuyang cautiously replied, “Why would they need to talk to me? Apart from poor academic performance, I’m good in other aspects.”

Huo Yunchuan hesitated and tried another approach, “Do they care about your life?” In the days that Huo Yunchuan had been taking care of An Wuyang, he hadn’t seen a single phone call from home, which explained everything.

The older man had a stomach full of anger with nowhere to vent it.

If it were his own child, he would expect them to tell him and seek his help immediately if they were in a situation like this, rather than keeping it a secret and seeking help from a stranger.

An Wuyang didn’t dare to tell his parents, and the impasse came down to two points, which Mr. Experienced Huo clearly understood. One was the fear of disappointing his parents, and the other was the fear of causing trouble for them.

Nonsense.

His own precious child, how could there be disappointment and trouble…

Mr. Huo’s expression wasn’t quite right, and the atmosphere around him turned dark and cold. An Wuyang, who didn’t want to provoke him further, obediently ate his dinner while his partner served him what to eat.

When he was too full to eat any more, he turned his head and stopped eating.

Glancing at him, Huo Yunchuan’s dinner bowl had barely been touched, as he focused on feeding An Wuyang. “I’m full and want to go out to the balcony.”

Huo Yunchuan’s eyebrows furrowed instantly, but he was thinking that the large, barren balcony with not even a potted plant needed some tidying up. He made a mental note to call Chen Fang in the evening to have some flowers and plants arranged on the balcony.

Little did he know that An Wuyang had very low expectations for the balcony. All he wanted was for it to be clean and well-ventilated. He found it more than satisfactory as long as it was tidy. From the glass window, he could see the cityscape, which was very beautiful.

He looked at it mesmerized, trying to distinguish the cardinal directions and locate the direction of the south, where their house was situated.

The soft light of the setting sun cast a halo on his slightly upturned face, making him appear serene, happy, and innocent.

As soon as they finished their meal, Huo Yunchuan immediately came out to find him. Adding the previous trip he took to accompany An Wuyang, he had made six round trips in fifteen minutes.

“In the evening, this place should be very beautiful, right?” An Wuyang heard the footsteps and turned around, his dark eyes reflecting the last rays of the setting sun.

“It’s okay…” Huo Yunchuan swallowed, suppressing the wild urge within him. “Go inside and take a shower; I’ll prepare the bathwater for you.”

An Wuyang nodded and said, “Okay, I’ll be right there.”

He continued to gaze for a while and then returned to the bedroom to retrieve his pajamas – an old set consisting of a loose T-shirt with a wide neckline and thin shorts. It was the kind he was used to wearing at home, with a neckline so wide that the edges of his underwear could be seen.

Huo Yunchuan noticed that these ‘pajamas’ were quite thin. That’s why he chose to turn a blind eye to it initially; after all, it was something the other person was familiar with. Stripping it away right from the start would have made him seem ruthless and domineering.

“Alright,” Huo Yunchuan filled the bathtub and gave An Wuyang a deep look.

“Thank you. I’ll close the door then.” Once An Wuyang was outside, he gently closed the door.

Huo Yunchuan’s bathroom was spacious, and as mentioned earlier, there was a full-length square mirror facing the bathtub.

An Wuyang stood with his back to the mirror, removing his clothes methodically. Huo Yunchuan stood outside the door, listening to the occasional soft sounds from inside, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead and back.

The slender young man had fair and tight skin, with smooth body contours, a neat student haircut that revealed his ears and half of his forehead. His facial features and forehead appeared plump and substantial when viewed from the front or side, but they didn’t have any feminine qualities because of his suitably masculine eyebrow shape.

“Have you entered the bathtub yet?” Huo Yunchuan’s voice came from outside the door.

Startled, An Wuyang froze. He halted his left foot, which was about to step into the bathtub, and replied, “Not yet, I’m just about to go in.”

Huo Yunchuan said with concern, “Be careful.”

Huo Yunchuan, this loving father, was somewhat different from the cold, heartless father An Wuyang had imagined. He felt relieved, knowing that at least his baby wouldn’t lack affection when he was away.

The warm bathwater soaked his body, and the rising steam made An Wuyang feel rejuvenated. His cheeks, eye sockets, and other sensitive areas quickly turned a rosy hue.

Just as he was enjoying his bath, Huo Yunchuan’s deep voice interrupted, “It’s been ten minutes; get up and get dressed.”

“Okay,” An Wuyang couldn’t ask for more time to soak. He climbed out and turned on the showerhead to rinse his hair. “Huo Yunchuan, where’s the hair dryer?”

With a click, the bathroom door suddenly swung open, and the tall man entered, pulling the hair dryer from a cabinet. “Come over here,” he said, his voice hoarse.

An Wuyang, in his loose-neck ‘pajamas,’ stood obediently as Huo Yunchuan ruffled his hair. In no time, the hair was dry and fluffy, and it carried the familiar scent of Huo Yunchuan’s shampoo.

His long fingers lightly touched the black hair as he asked, “Who told you to cut your hair like this?” Looking somewhat helpless.

The little angel replied, “I did it myself,” and then raised his head, raising an eyebrow. “Is there a problem?”

“No,” the man said as he gazed down from above, his faint smile evident in his eyes, from the face down to the open neckline.

“Thank you, I’m going out to watch TV. I won’t disturb your bath,” An Wuyang said, running his fingers through his hair.

Huo Yunchuan snorted softly, “I’m not done yet.” He then coiled up the hair dryer cord and returned it to the cabinet.

Noticing that An Wuyang had already left on his own, he didn’t try to stop him.

As a young man who wasn’t much into exercise, An Wuyang, who had finished his bath, sat on the sofa, watching TV and munching on fruits. When he saw Mr. Huo pass by and enter the gym, he couldn’t help but admire, but he wasn’t interested in joining in. He just wanted to relax.

Huo Yunchuan had cultivated the habit of exercising daily since high school. Regardless of his face and social status, his excellent physique had attracted many admirers and suitors back in his school days, to the point that the numbers of men and women who had thrown themselves at him could’ve circled Beijing.

If it weren’t for that insane level of pickiness, Huo Yunchuan, who was over thirty, would not be hard to imagine as an experienced playboy who had seen it all. After all, he had his own physical desires, but he couldn’t find a suitable partner.

So, the younger one quietly watched TV, while the older one enthusiastically hit the gym, releasing his pent-up energy—
