An Wuyang slept for a little over twenty minutes until he was awakened by Huo Yunchuan.

As he woke up, he looked around, feeling disoriented in the white surroundings, only then recalling that he was in the hospital and had actually fallen asleep.

Beside him, Huo Yunchuan’s voice was there, and it seemed he even touched his face. “Come on, let’s go eat.”

“Okay.” An Wuyang remembered that not too long ago, he had bitterly called Huo Yunchuan a beast in his mind, but now, getting his face touched had become almost routine.

Realizing this change, he shivered slightly.

On the surface, it was merely a matter of getting used to it, but in a less flattering way, it was a sign that he lacked others’ care, and just a bit of attention could make him light up.

However, this wasn’t a bad thing; in fact, it was something to be happy about.

He yawned and got up, running his hand through his messy hair, still looking drowsy, as he walked out of the office.

Behind him were Huo Yunchuan and Jiang Shaofei, the two of them chatting as they walked.

An Wuyang heard them discussing some aspects of life and work and, at the same time, noticed a vigilant, watchful gaze following him.

“He’s quite introverted…” Jiang Shaofei’s hushed whispers reached An Wuyang’s ears sporadically.

In the front, An Wuyang pursed his lips and continued walking with his arms crossed.

Internally, he was refuting, “Not introverted, just bridging the generation gap.”

“You drive,” Huo Yunchuan tossed the car keys to Jiang Shaofei, who was visibly miffed. After all, he was invited to dinner, not to be their chauffeur.

“Darn it…” Jiang Shaofei muttered while holding the keys, feeling slightly annoyed. Was he invited to dinner or to be their chauffeur?

“What are you saying?” Huo Yunchuan glared at him.

“Oh, right, right, pay attention to prenatal education, sorry, sorry,” Jiang Shaofei quickly apologized and even glanced at An Wuyang. Indeed, even if he didn’t consider prenatal education, he needed to consider the child who hadn’t yet reached maturity.

At first, An Wuyang was a bit puzzled by their conversation, but he quickly adjusted and replied, “It’s okay. We had plenty of classmates at our school who used foul language, and their vocabulary was quite extensive.” The use of explicit language was not unfamiliar to him.

“Haha,” Jiang Shaofei couldn’t help but glance at Huo Yunchuan to gauge his reaction.

“How extensive was their vocabulary?” the man asked, his tone slightly sulky.

As an honest kid, An Wuyang’s thoughts immediately returned to his high school days. The boys in his class who liked to use explicit language often had conversations like this: “What the f*ck, your mother, f*ck your ass…”

Hearing these phrases in his clear, youthful voice was somewhat embarrassing.

The atmosphere in the car fell quiet.

Jiang Shaofei once again realized why Huo Yunchuan claimed that An Wuyang was trying to seduce him. It wasn’t seduction; it was blatant teasing!

Huo Yunchuan helplessly covered his eyes, throwing out the mental images of profanity, and pleaded, “Don’t learn from them; these aren’t good words.”

An Wuyang blushed and replied with an embarrassed “okay.” He had probably said those words because he was frustrated with Huo Yunchuan and Jiang Shaofei treating him like a child.

In reality, they seemed to have forgotten an important fact: he wasn’t a virgin, and he was about to become a father.

The restaurant they visited for lunch today was a new one that An Wuyang had never been to before. Given that it was farther from Huo Yunchuan’s apartment and workplace, it was not a place they frequented for good food and drinks.

An Wuyang and Jiang Shaofei rode together in the same car. After a brief chat, their relationship had improved significantly, to the point where they were now on a first-name basis.

“Shaofei, we’ll go in ahead,” An Wuyang said before getting out of the car.

Jiang Shaofei dropped them off at the hotel entrance and then went to park the car. “Go ahead, I’ll be right there,” he said.

Huo Yunchuan walked into the hotel with An Wuyang, his broad hand holding the slender shoulder of the young angel. His inquisitive mood was immediately replaced by a sense of pity as he realized just how skinny that shoulder had become.

However, he couldn’t help but ask, “He’s Shaofei-ge, I’m Huo Yunchuan, who do you really want to call? Whose affection do you feel?”

An Wuyang replied, “Well, you also call me An Wuyang, don’t you?”

Huo Yunchuan: “…”

Meanwhile, outside the hotel, Jiang Shaofei finished parking the car and bumped into Ji Mingjie. The latter was leisurely strolling about, seemingly carefree, with his sunglasses hanging from his face.

Good-looking as always, but oozing an air of nonchalance.

“Hey, Old Jiang,” Ji Mingjie called out, waved at the doctor, and casually removed his stylish sunglasses. “What’s going on? Why did Yunchuan suddenly invite us for dinner? He seems pretty anxious.”

Jiang Shaofei chuckled, about to respond when a familiar voice interrupted him.

“Hey, why are so many people here?” Chen Chu had arrived as well, well-dressed and carrying a briefcase. He walked up to Jiang Shaofei, who had been calling him, and asked, “Why the sudden dinner invitation, and in such a hurry?”

This had caused him to rush over from the courthouse.

Seeing that everyone was present, Jiang Shaofei felt lazy to explain further. He pointed inside the hotel and said, “Since you’re all here, why don’t you go inside and find out?”

Ji Mingjie clicked his tongue and said, “Why the secrecy?” His flirtatious eyes blinked as he turned to Chen Chu and said, “Old Chen, do I smell a whiff of a celebration in the air?”

Chen Chu was taken aback but smiled and replied, “If that’s the case, it’s not a bad thing.”

However, he couldn’t fathom what good news could be associated with Huo Yunchuan. Money, he already had in abundance, enough for multiple lifetimes. Power, those who knew Huo Yunchuan understood that he had no interest in it. That left just one thing… love?

Chen Chu shook his head, thinking he might be going crazy or that perhaps Huo Yunchuan had gone mad.

Huo Yunchuan, the already-mad dad, sat with the little angel in the private dining room, looking at the menu.

An Wuyang had a pair of delicate, pale hands, holding the slightly dark menu, making his complexion appear even paler, almost devoid of color, which tugged at the heartstrings of those who saw him.

There were many items on the menu that he liked but couldn’t eat, such as oily and heavily flavored dishes. He didn’t eat them, and he didn’t let others order them either. If these dishes were brought to the table and the smell made him nauseous, it would be a troublesome situation.

He also avoided eating cold foods since it might affect his health. Thankfully, his favorite prawns were on the menu, so he ordered two plates of them.

He murmured absentmindedly, “I like eating prawns, but they’re just a bit difficult to peel.”

Huo Yunchuan glanced at him and said, “Do you think I don’t exist?”

The little angel blinked his clear, black-and-white eyes and smiled playfully.

When Jiang Shaofei and the others opened the door and entered, the first image they saw was An Wuyang’s cheerful face. He smiled brightly, showing his little fangs, and his eyes sparkled like stars.

Even Jiang Shaofei, who was no stranger to him, was momentarily stunned. He thought, “This kid is not introverted; he’s just selective with people.” In front of Huo Yunchuan, he was incredibly childlike, dependent, and no wonder, Huo Yunchuan doted on him so much.

Then, Ji Mingjie and Chen Chu reacted. Counting on their fingers, they realized it had been over a month since they last saw An Wuyang.

Typically, people forgot those they met briefly, especially if they weren’t significant. After such a long time, they should have forgotten. However, when they looked at the teenager in front of them, they immediately recognized him. He was the young hostess from the private room on the night they last met, the one who was being playfully teased by Huo Yunchuan.

He was only eighteen at the time, and now, here he was again, surrounded by this group of older men. Could it be that the wild beast Huo let him out to play before starting school?

“Yunchuan, what are you doing?” Ji Mingjie considered himself to have strong principles and immediately started mocking the guy in front of him. “By doing this, does he still have time to go to school and study?”

This boy was still so young; how could he say such things?

Huo Yunchuan furrowed his brow, thinking that Ji Mingjie knew everything. “Going to school can wait. I’ll arrange a leave of absence for him in a few days.”

But Ji Mingjie and Chen Chu were both taken aback. They felt like they didn’t even know their friend of over a decade anymore. This was just too much.

Chen Chu exclaimed, “Yunchuan, I can’t believe you would do something like this.”

The atmosphere in the private room immediately grew tense, and the finger of blame was pointed squarely at Huo Yunchuan.

As An Wuyang listened to them arguing about his situation, he felt a bit at a loss, not knowing how to handle the situation. His first step was to help Huo Yunchuan and clarify, saying, “Mr. Chen, Mr. Ji, it’s not his fault; I volunteered for this.”

Ji Mingjie and Chen Chu both retorted simultaneously, “Don’t say a word; this is an adult matter.”

They both agreed that if there was any wrongdoing, it was Huo Yunchuan’s, not the young boy’s. After all, who had matured in terms of intellect and worldview, and who was still in a growth phase? It was clear.

The only person who knew the truth was Jiang Shaofei, and he quickly stopped the two of them from berating Huo Yunchuan, saying, “The situation isn’t what you two think.”

In response, he received a simple “Shut up.” The way his brothers looked at him made it seem like they were labeling him as someone who was helping Huo Yunchuan do something wrong.

Huo Yunchuan clenched his fist tightly, feeling uncomfortable as well. He knew that An Wuyang, at the age of 18, had to sacrifice many things to give birth to their child. There was a possibility of developing an incurable disease due to the pregnancy, or even dying on the operating table.

With a stern expression and a hoarse voice, he said, “So what do you want me to do? Have the heart to abandon this child?”

Not to mention whether he could do it or not, the little angel himself wanted this child.

Ji Mingjie said, “What do you mean, ‘have the heart to abandon him’? If you don’t seduce him, will he still follow you?” This man was too shameless.

Wasn’t it clear that Huo Yunchuan was shamelessly seducing him? Just look at that night at the club, hugging and kissing him and forcibly feeding him cherries.

Bro, in an entertainment venue, the relationship between customers and the consumed is clear. However, once you step outside that door, can you please put away your perverted hands?

“Stop, stop, stop…” Jiang Shaofei listened to their senseless bickering and became increasingly annoyed. “Listen, I called you here today not to argue but to share some good news.”

Ji Mingjie and Chen Chu were already upset and sat there idly, sipping their water. They asked, “What good news?”

As a senior doctor, Jiang Shaofei officially announced, “Here’s what happened: Yunchuan is going to be a dad. Wuyang is pregnant with his child.”

Seeing their unfavorable expressions, Huo Yunchuan immediately raised the menu in his hand to shield himself from any impending splashes of water.

After announcing the news, Huo Yunchuan calmly put down the menu and said with disdain, “Are you guys clean?” He showed no self-awareness of the shocking announcement.

Ji Mingjie exclaimed, “Cough, cough, cough!” He looked at An Wuyang with eyes almost bulging out and asked, “Then, you are a girl?”

What!

He couldn’t believe it. How could a boy be this handsome? If it were a girl, everything would make sense.

An Wuyang shook his head, saying, “I’m a boy.” A genuine, full-fledged young man.

Chen Chu was utterly shocked. “If you are a boy, how can you be pregnant with Yunchuan’s child?” He couldn’t believe it; it couldn’t be true. He repeated to himself, “It can’t be true.”

“I can’t explain that myself,” An Wuyang said, looking for help and casting a glance at Jiang Shaofei, who had only recently established a relationship with him.

“This is absolutely true,” Jiang Shaofei reassured them and patted the young teenager on the shoulder. Trying to calm the situation, he added, “I’m a doctor, you can’t possibly not believe me, right?”

Huo Yunchuan didn’t say anything. He simply reached out and pulled An Wuyang closer to himself.

Ji Mingjie and Chen Chu were left speechless, as if they had lost the ability to speak. Two brothers who were usually eloquent and outspoken were now completely overcome with jealousy.

Not long ago, Huo Yunchuan had portrayed a proud and solitary image, with no signs of engaging with anyone. As brothers, they had asked him privately why he avoided relationships with people, and he had cited cleanliness as the reason, a reason they could reluctantly accept.

But cleanliness isn’t something that changes overnight!

So, Ji Mingjie subtly assessed An Wuyang. He had delicate facial features, fair skin, and could be considered attractive but not stunningly beautiful.

An Wuyang noticed someone looking at him and returned the gaze, offering a sunny smile. However, he was feeling quite nervous inside.

At this point, Ji Mingjie finally understood. This wasn’t about looks at all.
