CHAPTER START---

Sitting in the hallway of Central Hospital was a surreal experience for Kyoka Jiro.

She has one Earphone Jack plugged into her phone, quietly listening to music as she sat on her chair.

There were nurses and doctors constantly moving around, even this late at night. The hospital was constantly getting a flood of new patients into the emergency room.

Holding her backpack beside her she glances at the door to the side of where she's seated.

Behind her, on the other side of the simple wall, Endeavor was laying in bed after getting healed by Horizon.

But the instant Endeavor was stable and they could only wait for him to wake up, a nurse rushed over and led Horizon to the other side of the hospital.

Dozens of people were severely hurt by the League Of Villains attack earlier today. Now it was nearly midnight and Horizon hasn't stopped working to heal people.

For all his talk about not caring about others, Jiro saw him taking command of the situation immediately and constantly moving around saving lives.

Seeing respected doctors and nurses differ to him, it was surreal. As if suddenly he was even further ahead of her, he already seemed beyond comprehension, but no she knew she could never describe it.

She did notice one thing, however, a few times each hour, there'd be a few nurses rushing children in the direction of the Miracle Ward.

Horizon's office was currently chaotic which is why she's here sitting in the hallway.

But she could hear the happy and relieved cheers of patients and their families every time he shows himself.

'No we're still in Central Hospital,' Jiro responds to a text from her mom. 'A lot of people got hurt so Horizon is helping to heal them, he said he should be done soon.'

'Alright, just remember not to be too far away from him.'

Jiro rolls her eyes at her mom's message, 'I'm not a baby you know, I'm training to be a Pro Hero too.'

'And we're very proud of you, but please don't go too far from him.'

Jiro sighs, 'yes mom, I'll call you from Horizon Tower.'

As Jiro is finishing up her conversation she sees a nurse rush by, with a small Horizon logo on the shoulder of her uniform.

She looked worried, clutching the clipboard to her chest as she all but sprints down the hallway. Minutes later she's pushing a young boy in a wheelchair toward the Miracle Ward.

'She must be one of the people Horizon has to help him organize everyone here,' Jiro realizes. 'I don't think I've seen any adults go toward the Miracle Ward, aside from the people he helped that came in with Endeavor.'

Jiro sits back and thinks about it for a moment.

'He really doesn't care about people...well, adults. But he's got a soft spot for kids. No wonder he always spoils Eri so much, even if he says it's just to annoy Eraser.'

Jiro shakes her head, realizing her being here makes him easier to see through.

'All that acting like a jerk, and it turns out he's just a big softie deep down.'

"What's with that stupid look on your face?" Horizon snaps her out of her daydream, causing her to jump to her feet in surprise and look at him.

"Uh, I, um..."

Horizon sighs and shakes his head, "Endeavor is awake so let me just go talk to him then we can leave."

"Alright, I'll be here!" Jiro says excitedly, just wanting to get to Horizon Tower and take a nap, then get ready for the concert tomorrow.

Entering the room Horizon sees Endeavor laying in bed staring up at the ceiling, he had a scar on the left side of his face, from the top of his forehead, down over his eye, almost down to his jawline.

"If you change your mind I can always remove the scar," Horizon says.

"It's deserved," Endeavor says.

"Right, well if you ever feel like not punishing yourself just let me know," Horizon saunters over to the chair beside Endeavor's bed and takes a seat, finally getting a moment to relax since leaving UA.

They enjoy the silence for a moment, gentle moonlight trying to break through the curtains, keeping the room slightly dimmed.

"How is everyone?" Endeavor asks.

"A few Pro Heroes got badly hurt, two died, not from your agency but they were nearby," Horizon says. "All the smaller Nomu got dealt with, and Japan saw your fight. Cheering for the new #1 Pro Hero, congratulations."

"I see, and the civilians?"

"All evacuated and got out safe, since the attack was concentrated onto your Hero Agency, and the Pro Heroes."

"That's good," Endeavor says. He tries to get up, but immediately lays back down, feeling his entire body sore. "How badly hurt was I?"

"Well, without me, you'd be in here for at least another week, but no permanent damage either way. But since I got to you, tomorrow you can get out of here. But your Hero Agency is a mess..."

"It can always be rebuilt. Did any more attacks happen?"

"Nope, they just wanted to kill you, kick Japan the same day we officially got the new #1 Pro Hero, smart move," Horizon says. "But, the villains, like most people, don't realize that you're kind of freakishly powerful. It's just when you stand beside people like All Might and I, anyone looks like less than they are."

"It worked to our advantage this time," Endeavor says. "That Nomu that attacked me, it was one of the High-End Nomu you got information on. It was able to speak and think clearly, it wanted to kill me more than anyone else."

"Mhm, that means the consciousness was still somewhat intact, damn, doing some research on it would have been helpful. But you cremated it, not even DNA survived the attack you did."

"The Quirks," Endeavor closes his eyes and tries to remember. "Super Regeneration, Super Power, Muscle Enhancer, some kind of storage Quirk it used to release the other Nomu. A body manipulation Quirk that let it harden and sharpen its muscles, and an air pressure Quirk."

"6 Quirks that we know of, good thing it went after you, almost anyone else would have died immediately," Horizon thinks about it for a moment. "But now they know relying on the basic blunt force type of Quirks won't work against you. They'll start to specialize Nomu for specific Pro Heroes."

"Mhm, what about you, could you have handled it?" Endeavor opens his eyes to glance at Horizon.

Horizon takes a deep breath and raises one hand, opening his palm to collect a small flow of green radiation in his palm.

Endeavor looks more intrigued than worried.

As Horizon's official Pro Hero mentor and boss, he knows more than most people about Horizon's abilities, and the 'Gamma' series is no exception.

But this is the first time he's ever seen it in person.

'Cellular destruction, a scary ability,' Endeavor thinks.

"I think I'd be fine against that Nomu, so long as it's just one," Horizon crushes the radiation in his hand, harmlessly dispersing it as he shrugs.

"You said Gamma attacks were difficult to do..."

"They are, but I've been practicing a lot," Horizon says.

They share another moment in silence.

"I saw on the news that he was there," Horizon says, and Endeavor immediately frowns at the memory.

Dabi, he appeared from a Warp Gate to collect the Nomu after the fight.

"He tried to get the Nomu, and promised to 'destroy' me," Endeavor says. "But he didn't make any direct mentions of 'that', or anything else."

"He tried to attack?"

"Of course, but too many Pro Heroes were there, and Burnin was able to get me out of there."

"So he was sent to get back the Nomu but couldn't recover it. Makes sense, the League of Villains was just testing a new weapon on you. Some of the Nomu I've encountered were clones, imperfect, but it means they can make more of at least the Quirk Factors."

"So we can expect more of these, and more frequently, that's concerning. We need to take more proactive measures to deal with the League Of Villains," Endeavor says.

"I'm sure Pantu will want to talk to you for a debrief, but yeah, I've been itching to start hunting them down myself."

"Well you can start when you get out of here, when you get a lead I'll follow up, she doesn't want me leaving Tokyo too much."

"I assume you'll be in Tokyo this weekend."

"I'm taking Jiro to a concert," Horizon says rather casually.

"Jiro?"

"Classmate, it's...a long story."

"Hmm, I thought you were dating Ryukyu."

"Lots of people think that," Horizon chooses his words very carefully, since Jiro is just outside the room and can likely hear them. "But yeah that's my weekend plans, anyway, I'll give you another checkup the next time I see you."

With that Horizon gets up and begins walking to the door.

"Thank you, for everything," Endeavor says.

Horizon stops, hand on the door handle, then looks at Endeavor, "It's part of the job, oh, and Shoto looked worried about you when I left UA, so give him a call..."

Endeavor actually manages to smile hearing that, "I will, th---"

Horizon exits the room before he can thank him again.

"Honestly these fucking Todorokis," Horizon mutters as Jiro stands beside him. "Alright, let's get out of here."

ROOM!

He places a hand on her shoulder.

SHAMBLES!
