Adeline paced back and forth in the parlor nervously.

She was biting down on her lower lip so hard that it started bleeding.

‘How did she escape that underground abyss?’

Panopticon was both a prison and a labyrinth. One would have to know the exact way to get out of there before actually escaping. However, since the designers and guards of the Panopticon who know the way have already died long ago, it is virtually impossible to escape from there.

But, how the hell?

‘How could Lily Everett…?’

She wouldn’t have had the ability to do that.

…Of course, there was one thing that bothered Adeline.

Lily had the ability to sense spirits.

‘…Could it be that the rumors about the Panopticon were true?’

Rumor has it that, in the depths of the Panopticon, a legendary spirit rests.

There have been some idiots who jumped into Panopticon believing only those rumors in recent years, but none of them returned alive.

So, she thought that rumors about the legendary spirit are just mere superstitions…

‘…If Lily had entered a contract with that spirit, it would be easy to get out of the Panopticon.’

But Lily Everett… How could such an worthless illegitimate child make a contract with the spirit? Nonsense. She’s Lily.

She did not assume from the beginning that Theodore would personally go down to the Panopticon and bring Lily. Because Theo can’t do that.

It was surprising that Theo would be looking for Lily so much. But still… he’s not going to risk his life to save that wench. Theo wouldn’t think that much of Lily.

‘After they separate anyway, Theo will forget everything. Like Lily Everett.’

Adeline smiled a little nervously. Her hands and feet were cold and a little sweat broke out on her forehead, but she tried to stay calm. Because when Theo comes, she has to show her calm side.

‘Lily will soon die because of the poison and the curse. Then she’ll keep her mouth shut, so what I did will never be revealed. Even if I get caught…’

Adeline glanced around and took a small crystal vial out of her pocket.

A transparent liquid with a subtle tinge of pink.

It was a love potion.

‘If I just make Theo drink this… Then everything will go my way.’

She really didn’t want to go this far.

Originally, she wanted to win Theo’s heart the right way… But even if she couldn’t succeed, she figured that it didn’t matter. As long as she could have the seat next to him.

As time goes by, Theo will get used to her, and they will become a good couple.

However, the moment when she witnessed Theo showed sincere kindness to Lily.

She couldn’t stand it any longer.

From then on, Adeline put all her energy into perfecting this love potion. She was confident in making magic potions. The poison that Missus Seymour had fed Lily had also been made by her.

They were no ordinary poisons, but ones containing special magic that strengthened the curse. Even if she had taken the antidote and recovered by now… The poison’s magic will strengthen the curse and drag Lily down to the doors of death.

Adeline was looking forward to that.

May the damned Lily Everett die this time. May she completely disappear from this world.

‘Everything will be perfect once Lily is gone.’

When she bit her lips like a habit while repeating obsessively.

Ta-dak, ta-dak…

“……!”

There were low footsteps in the hallway outside the door. It must be Theodore.

Adeline hurriedly opened the lid of the teapot and poured the love potion. The red tea completely covered the color of the potion, and since the potion had no taste or scent, Theodore would not find out.

Now… Theo just needs to drink it.

One sip. Just one sip.

Adeline quickly sat down. She waited for Theodore with a neat face as if she hadn’t done anything.

Click.

Finally, the door opened. The nervous Adeline, gulped dryly.

And beyond the open door… Theodore appeared.

Adeline stood up with a reflexive smile and studied Theodore’s expression closely.

As expected… He wasn’t looking so good. It’s all because of that damn Lily Everett. He was running all over the place, not even sleeping, looking for her.

‘He’s upset…’

If Adeline was instead his wife, she wouldn’t have made him suffer so much. As expected, Lily only harms Theo. She’s an ominous woman who was obviously born with bad luck. She couldn’t let a woman like that stay by Theo’s side.

Adeline moved towards Theodore, full of resolve.

“Theo, how is Lily? Has she recovered? I’m really worried… I hope she’s safe.”

“…….”

As always, Adeline’s acting was top-notch. Her voice, expression, and gestures were full of concern, looking at it, it seemed that she really cared about Lily.

But Theodore just stood there with no response. Usually he would have answered something quickly.

“Theo…?”

Adeline, who thought Theodore was acting strange, called him. Then Theodore, only blinking, passed her and sat down.

Adeline belatedly realized that Theodore was looking at her with such vitriol in his eyes.

…Suddenly, chills ran down her spine, as though she’d been doused by cold water. Adeline was flustered, but she ignored it and went over to sit across from Theodore.
