After swallowing the potions contents Tsubaki dragged me to my new smithy where I tried out my Enchantment while making a basic longsword. Well I technically tried to make two. On the first one I underestimated the power of my Stellar Sheen enhanced swing and smushed the red hot metal like dough, ruining it.

I was more careful with the next piece, and I could tell as I was beating away with the glowing white hammer that there was something different about the blade. I had to constantly shut the Enchantment on and off to stop myself from getting a case of Mind Down. Smithing was not a quick process.

Tsubaki, curse that big breasted demon, continued to feed me Magic Potions, and well. They tasted like shit and the probable unhealthy amount in my stomach made me want to vomit. If not for the fact that I wanted to see what would happen too I would have kicked her out. Well tried to, there was no way I could force a Level Four out if she didn’t let me.

I had to say, I was amazed, I hadn’t put on the hilt yet, but I already knew it was the best weapon I had ever made. I wouldn’t be able to wield it myself with my small body, but I still felt happy with the result.

We were both shirtless, though she had those bandages around her breasts as usual. She apparently had the same thought process as Da and I where the clothes made it too uncomfortable and trapped the heat in, then ignored the flames and sparks only a few feet away.

Tsubaki was holding it and doing a close examination, meanwhile I did a once over of her. A sweaty beautiful half-dwarf, did I just gain a new fetish?

“Damn good, better than that stiletto you made the other day. Once it’s finished up I’d say it’s pushing the limits of a normal weapon. You could almost classify it as a third-class sword.”

“Third-class?”

She nodded, putting down the blade.

“Weapons are put into different classes, like adventurers. There's the normal ones, the Third-Class, which normally only those with the Forge Development Ability can craft, which allows the smith to put a characteristic on the weapon. That's things like making it better at cutting or more durable. Second-class is pretty much the same, just better and maybe with a bit more difficult to make characteristics, and the same with First-class, some are weapons that can be made to be especially effective when used by a specific person.”

“So basically the ranking was just arbitrary?”
“Not really, even if someone has the Forge ability it doesn’t mean they can put a Durandal characteristic on a weapon. Sure they can make it more durable, but not indestructible. You need at least an F rank in Forge to make it.”

“Isn’t that kind of low?”

Like basic abilities Development abilities went from S-I. F would be the seventh out of ten ranks.

“Not really, honestly you’d struggle to find a single person with a Development Ability above E in Orario.”

I looked outside the window to see the sun setting, it had been a long day, and I still had some stuff to do.

“Tsubaki, you owe me food, can you go grab me something to eat? Preferably something without too much oil or spice.”

I didn’t want to be a pansy, but my stomach was still churning from the potions.

Tsubaki agreed and quickly left, I had fifty fifty odds on her forgetting.

While she was out I started my garden, I planted the necessary stuff for Liquid Viagra first then moved onto other herbs. I was only able to finish about a third by the time that Tsubaki returned, but it would be enough for today.

“Kovaaaa, I got us some Jyaga Marukun potato puffs and some dwarven fire whisky!”

What the fuck?

“Seriously? That’s not real food,” Not only did the potatoes look deep fried it was fire whisky, and I was six.

“Meh, just try it, they’re great. Hephaestus introduced me to the place.”

I reluctantly took a bite.

“There's no way this is healthy for a growing-”

I stopped, looking down at the snack. I took another bite, then another.

“Actually I was wrong, this is a perfectly balanced meal. Got another?”

She handed me three more then took a swig of the whisky, handing it to me. Well it's not like Da hadn’t let me try it before, just in secret so Ma didn’t find out.

Taking a drink I relished in the burn going down my throat, not so much the fire in my belly though. I made sure not to drink more than that, just letting the potato puffs fill my belly and lul me to sleep.

I awoke on the floor of my smithy, my head resting comfortably on something soft.

Please let this be what I think it is.

I sat up and was pleased to find out I was right, Tsubaki had used me as a snuggling pillow, letting me fall asleep on her breasts and had her arms loosely around me.

She was not the most graceful sleeper. I could smell the whisky on her and drool was pooled beneath her mouth, a light snore coming from her.

How cute.

I looked out the window happy that it wasn’t light out yet. I had no blankets in the smithy, so I used a sheet that would go in a weapons case and draped it over Tsubaki who smacked her lips absently.

Getting dressed in my deep blue cloak I headed out to wash up before my lesson with Rose.

Rose was sitting down, her head resting on the table in front of her as she dozed. She had been dumb to think that the kid would back off from just having to wake up early. He had obviously been eager, and not as reckless as someone his age usually was. It wasn’t the first time someone less than ten became an adventurer. They usually ended up dead within a month.

She didn’t want to be the kids advisor, no matter how cute he had been. When he inevitably got too cocky and ended up being eaten she would be the one left to suffer. She might have gotten used to older adventurers dying, but you could never get used to hearing that a child you cared for ended up food for monsters.

Still she would do her job. She had spent her free time after work yesterday making a two week study course for Kova that would teach him the basics of adventuring both solo and with a party and what he might see on the first few levels of the dungeon. There was no point in teaching him about anything below that if he got killed by a Frog Shooter because he was daydreaming about dragons.

She smelled Kova before she heard him, and not in a good way. Yesterday she had noticed that his scent was a bit odd, but dismissed it as irrelevant. Now however he had a few distinct smells on him. One which made her stomach rumble was Jyaga Marukun which she loved. The others though made him seem like an unfaithful husband. Whisky, the smell of sweat and fire and finally the fragrance of a woman coated him. She was relieved that she recognized it as Tsubaki’s.

Looking up she saw he had cleaned himself up despite the scent on him. He still wore the thick blue and red coat. His black hair sticking up wildly from the bedhead and his bright blue eyes looking at her warmly an excited gleam in his eye.

“Hi Miss Rose!”
