Chapter 22

We arrived at the scene to see that a battle had broken out in the middle of the street. A half dozen female adventurers were facing off against three times their number of attackers. Burnt bodies littered the ground from the recent explosion, many of them seemingly civilians caught up in the crossfire.

I would say it was sexist to automatically assume the all girl group were the good guys, but the crazed blood thirsty look of the other side was giving off nothing but bad vibes.

I recognized the red haired girl leading the defenders from when Tsubaki took me to the Guild the first time. The Astrea Familia, a Familia of Justice Waifus. Even though they were outnumbered, their superior power and skill were evident. There was even a blonde elven girl only a few years older than me smacking around a man three times her size.

John looked like he wanted to help them, but seemed to realize that they were under control.

“Let the Astrea Familia deal with the Evilus. We need to get the civilians away.”

We did just that, for a moment I wanted to join in on the fight, but I could tell right away that I would be outclassed and in the way.

I had only ever seen Level Ones in combat before, and I could easily tell that at least four of the girls were above that, probably Level Two. They fought off several opponents at once, their skill better than anything I had seen before. The red haired girl was spouting something about being beautiful and amazing while standing proudly over a pile of enemies. A black haired girl that seemed to be from the Far East (this world's Japan) overpowered a sheep-kin man that looked like a sumo wrestler, and the young elven girl from before was fending off two people at the same time.

I pulled survivors away while watching them clean up the final stragglers of Evilus. Some other adventurers and civilians joined us in the effort.

Letting the rest of her Familia tie up the Evilus the red haired girl walked up to us. She had a bright confident appearance. I thought that even if I called her something terrible or insulted her she would brush it off or twist the words into some form of praise.

“Thank you guys for getting the people out of the way. The Astrea Familia’s wouldn’t want droves of citizens to confess their love after seeing our amazing skill and beauty,” she said with what could only be called a shit eating grin.

John moved forward, his hand outstretched. I was impressed. I thought John wouldn’t have the confidence to talk to such a pretty girl.

“Captain Alise Lovell right? It was no issue, thank you for protecting the people.”

“Ah sorry you need to at least be Level Three have twenty million Valis saved up and a face to match a Gods in order to court me. Perfection requires Perfection after all. I do appreciate the confession however.”

This girl was delusional.

John obviously thought the same thing because he retracted his hand and took a step back.

The girl, Alise, noticed me.

“Ah, what a cute boy! Don’t worry this onee-chan will protect you from any bad guys. Justice will always prevail in the face of evil. Actually I have a gift for you.”

She pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to me.

Alise Lovell, The Scarlet Harnel, Captain of the Astrea Familia, Defender of the Innocent and Sword of Justice.

It was her autograph…

“I’m trying something new, I’m sure that several kids want to prove that they have met me so I decided to start giving out autographs. One day you can give it to your children, or maybe frame it and make it a family heirloom,” Alise said with a satisfied smile.

“Captain please stop, I think you’re scaring the boy,” the Far Eastern girl said. “We need to hand these guys over to the Guild.”

She had walked up with the elf and prum. The masked elven girl gave me a little acknowledging nod. Ma had told me that most forest elves were really big on the whole elven pride and culture thing. Which wasn’t really a bad thing in general, but it often led to bigoted racists within their communities.

I gave the elf a piece sign in return.

The Astrea Familia gave their final goodbyes and headed off with the criminals.

There was a lot of… Personality within their group. I looked to my party, four people with less character than Tenten from Naruto. At least John actually had a name.

I looked at the autograph in my hands, then stuffed it into John's pocket when he wasn’t looking.

“Hmm, pretty balanced increase,” Hephaestus said examining the paper along with me.

“Is that normal?” I asked.

I had specifically made my weapons and armor in order to have a more balanced Status.

“Most of our Familia members will have good Strength and Endurance and usually decent Dexterity as well.”

I was surprised at how much my Magic had increased, but overall was a bit disappointed. I attributed a lot of that to me playing supporter for the first half of the day.

A hand landed on my head patting it softly.

“It’s alright, this is good for what was supposed to be an easy dive. I’m actually a bit surprised that they let you fight so much,” Heaphaestus said soothingly. “Speaking of, here you go.”

She put down a pouch that jingled with money.

“It’s an unspoken rule here that if someone does well on their first time in the dungeon that the party will give them all the earnings of the day.”

I wondered if those from the Astrea Familia had gains like this their first time, what about the Loki and Freya executives? I guess she could still tell that I was a bit disappointed because she stood up.

“Hey Kova let’s do maintenance on your weapons then maybe you could help me in the forge for a little.”

Now that was the way to get someone's mind out of the gutter. Being the Goddess’ of the Forge’s assistant? Any day of the week.

“Absolutely!”

-A/N-

One of my favorite characters that was killed off before the story even started.

What age for Kova do you guys think I should start doing the R-18 stuff?

I'm not really sure what most people would like.
