Spells crashed against the city wall, debris flew throughout the air. The smell of burning flesh and screaming wounded permeated the air. Heroes were busy scaling the city walls to be slaughtered by the dozens while the exchange of spells caused the very ground to shake. Amongst all of this chaos, a solitary, sinister figure was busy enjoying himself.

"Hey! What's a little girl doing here?" One hero said to another as he raised his shield to block an arrow.

"No idea! Who cares!" His companion replied as he glanced at the blood-soaked frilly dress and wide brim hat.

"Please die!" A rough and happy sounding male voice said as the hat tilted back along with the figure's dress.

Lorget flashed his most charming smile at the stunned heroes before leaping up and driving a dagger into each of their throats. 'Damn! I liked the old colour!' Lorget thought as his dress became a darker shade of red. Any hero that witnessed his antics would instantly think it was some kind of evil spirit haunting their army. Thus the legend of 'The Girl In The Red Dress' was born.

Lorget weaved throughout the enemy forces making deep cuts in their fragile joints. Incapacitating them so that the bombardment from the walls could finish them off. Needless to say, Lorget was having a hell of a time. So much so that he had not even noticed that the rest of his tribe had pulled back to behind the walls.

The heroes rushing past him were subconsciously avoiding him. Not even thinking to try and strike him down. There was something eerie about taking out by a small figure in a frilly dress. A few nearby heroes averted their eyes as Lorget was thrown aside by a stray spell exploding nearby. 'Fuck me! Be careful where you're throwing that shit!' He thought as the edge of his dress was thrown up and over his head.

Meanwhile, on top of the city walls…

"No, you don't!" Sophia screamed as her sword clashed with a hero's axe.

The hero in question had tried to strike Kace in the back while he was preoccupied with facing his opponent. Sophia was giving her all to defend him from these surprise attacks. Their section of the wall was slowly falling under the enemy forces' control as the soldiers stationed there were forced back.

The only reason it had not fallen yet was because of Shadow's group diving around the place like a bunch of evil dolphins. Leaping out of the shadows to strike down unprepared enemies and slow down their momentum. It was the best that they could do since their abilities were better suited to ambush and assassination tactics.

Sophia grunted as she drove her knee into the man's ribs producing a sickening crunch as the man spat blood all over the area. She had broken his ribs, and in turn, they had pierced several of his critical organs. His combat capabilities declined sharply, preventing him from being able to avoid his death.

Sophia slashed down with her blade and split the man's helmet. Her blade drove deep, through flesh and bone until it stopped in line with where his left eye used to be. Grey matter leaked from the grizzly wound as Sophia tore her weapon away and let him fall limply to the ground. Despite her greater stamina that being a vampire granted her, she was already feeling out of breath.

She had never experienced how draining a real war felt, so it was something unexpected to her. Every second was spent with her senses on high alert to avoid being killed in some stupid way. The mental exhaustion that such a strained state of mind caused was absolutely no joke. She took deep and steady breaths as she eyed the new wave of heroes rushing towards their position from further along the walls.

She spared a quick glance over her shoulder to see how Kace was faring. The situation looked like it was still far from reaching a conclusion. 'All I can do for now is make sure he doesn't have to worry about his back. Let him focus on the enemy before him!' She grit her teeth as a look of resolve crossed her face. The heroes were still a decent distance away, and she had no intention of letting them get closer.

Her body dissolved to mist as it rushed to towards the oncoming threat. The woman in the lead attempted to strike the mist with the hammer that she had in one hand as she prepared her shield to defend against the counterblow. However, the hammer passed harmlessly through the mist as another woman behind her screamed.

Sophia had deliberately targeted the woman in the group that she had witnessed healing her companions earlier before their charge. Such a blow was a deadly strike to the state of the minds of the others. They had considered themselves lucky to have a healer amongst them. It gave them the courage to fight harder. As they would be more likely to survive the war as long as she was with them.

These hopes were shattered as they stared at the sword that was now driven straight through their companion's soft belly, making short work of the poor protection that the leather armour she wore offered her. All they could think of was to drive Sophia away in the hopes of being able to save their healer afterwards.

They rushed towards her just to be horrified to realise it would not go as planned. Sophia ignored them as she lifted the woman from the ground using only the blade stuck inside her. The woman went pale and screamed horrifically as the sword sliced upward and jammed against her lower ribs. This was what allowed her to be lifted from the ground.

Her screams made her companions go pale in horror as they could on watch on as Sophia's beautiful face looked determined. Before they could reach her, they watched as Sophia tossed her body over the wall. The fall would surely kill her. The heroes paused in their charge as they became the focus of this vampiress's attention…
