They had descended into depths of the castle. Each floor had numerous rooms that were spread out over the extent of itself. Every one of these rooms that they searched along the way was completely vacant.

No signs of life, nor riches. Making them feel dejected. Eventually, they reached the lowest level. Only to be confronted with fifteen-foot tall doors. They were gorgeously decorated stealing their breath away as they gazed at them.

They depicted a scene from some long-past war. Vampires and heroes at each other's throats. The dead were spread all over the place and in the centre stood a solitary female vampire.

Kace had to admit that she was certainly attractive. Enough so that she even stirred his dormant male hormones despite only being a portrayal. His reverie was interrupted by Grugda eagerly forcing the doors open.

The doors swung open without a sound. It was so smooth it seemed as though they had never been left closed for as long as they had. 'It's a wonder they never seized!' Kace clamoured in his mind.

With highly anticipated breaths they strode through to the other side. Entering a room that was far smaller than they had believed it would be. Again there were no signs of riches. However, withing the centre stood an upright sarcophagus. The lid was a block of ice that fully encased the woman within.

She looked strikingly similar to the breathtaking beauty that had been depicted on the doors. Causing Kace's heart to involuntary to begin racing. Grugda was the first to approach her. With curious eyes, he examined her final resting place

Behind the sarcophagus, against the rear wall. Another door was apparent. It glowed with runes that according to Grugda was some form of magical lock. It would require the item that was set to act as its key to open.

"You don't think that she has the key to you?" Kace reluctantly jabbed a thumb to the woman.

"She could. Do. It would do. No harm. To find. Out." He replied while stroking his chin.

The pair began to look for a way to possibly open it. Being worried that if they were forceful about it they may damage the very item they were searching for.

Grugda jumped as a patch of the smooth stone that formulated the rear of it swiftly slid aside after he pushed on it. Revealing a block that glowed with a single orange rune.

"That must be the key!" Kace cried out with ecstasy. Relieved that they would not have to disturb her in her eternal rest. "The question now is should we take a peek at what's behind that door or do we deliver it to Yul?"

"Hmm. We should. Probably see. What it is. That monster wants. So bad."

Reaching out his hand Kace carefully removed it. Praying the whole time that it was not a trap that was left behind. Sweat dripped from his forehead to the ground as it slid out with a click.

Luckily nothing transpired from the action. Holding the ruled tablet in his hand he slowly approached the door. Unsure of what to expect he constantly checked over his shoulder to make sure Grugda was close by.

Starting at the door he brought himself to a standstill. Gently lifting the tablet towards it his arms began to shake. Just as they were about to touch a slender yet firm gripped his arm tightly.

His head snapped to the side to see who was responsible. Only to be greeted with the visage of the woman from the sarcophagus as a large amount of water slowly dripped from her features.

"What do you think you are doing?" She hissed. Her voice as clear as a bell, sounding beautiful even though she was quietly seething with rage.

Now that her eyes were open Kace became mesmerised in their crystal clear grey colouring. Like something was doing its best to draw him in. He felt his mind go numb as he could only stammer in response. Growing red in the face from embarrassment.

Grugda on the other hand was even more shocked. A pool of water had leaked out from the sarcophagus and was slowly soaking his boots. Despite the water on the ground, this woman had completely bypassed him without his noticing. Not even making the slightest splashing noise that should have given her away.

When neither of them deigned to answer her question she easily threw Kace like a ball directly into Grugda. All while taking hold of the tablet that seconds ago had been in his hands.

Grugda let out a groan as Kace slammed into him. Sending them both sliding across the floor of the room. When he recovered from the tumble he was still suffering from a severe case of a brain fart. His eyes were now drawn to her long pale legs and silver hair.

She, on the other hand. Was starting at him in disgust. It was a look that many men had given her before and quite frankly she was sick of it. With a blur, she instantly closed the distance between them. Sending her foot crashing into Kace's jaw.

His head snapped back violently as he was once again blown through the air. His eyes practically shaped like a pair of hearts. As he slammed into the wall and slid to the ground, he could personally witness her approaching him like an unbridled storm.

Grabbing him by his hood she lifted him into the air. Staring coldly into his golden eyes. Even for one who had lived a long life such as herself, she had to admit that they were an unusual colour. Stirring a deeply rooted memory within her mind.

"One last chance, who are you?! Why are you here?!" She demanded as she raised her hand, preparing to strike him at one wrong word.

Staring back into her expression he could almost weep with self-pity. 'It's no use! I'm going to say it!'

"Please! Marr..." He began to say earnestly before her hand crashed into the side of his head. Before passing out from the blow, he watched as this fiery woman approached Grugda. Seeing them have an almost friendly chat before his vision faded to black...
