Zheng Lun didn’t even appear after they finished lunch and Shangguan Ning and Zhao Anan left.
When Zheng Jing and Mrs. Zheng saw them off at the door, they looked really apologetic. After all, their daughter had invited them home whilst she kept herself locked in the room all the time, being impolite.
But neither Shangguan Ning and Zhao Anan cared about that. They knew Zheng Lun well enough to understand that she didn’t desert them because of arrogance. They realised that she was at the edge of breaking down and couldn’t handle anything else.
After Shangguan Ning and Zhao Anan left, Zheng Jing proposed that he would drive Zhu Ruotong home.
Zhu Ruotong laughed and said, “No need, I can go home myself. Your sister is feeling unwell. You better go upstairs and check up on her. I am off.”
After she finished the words, she left.
Seeing Zhu Ruotong leaving, Mrs. Zheng let out a sigh.
She seemed to be a very broad-minded and smart girl. But it seemed that she would not be returning here again.
She thought that Zhu Ruotong and her son made a cute couple. She was straightforward and shared the same background as her son. More importantly, she was his college classmate and seemed to be a nice person.

She patted her son’s hand and said softly, “Son, go up and check on your sister. Don’t make her cry. She has been a part of the family from the moment she joined us. She is deeply connected with your sister and we mustn’t make her sad.”
He nodded and walked upstairs.
His mother always felt that Qiqi and Zheng Lun were somehow connected. They looked so much like each other that she was a gift from God who gave her another when she lost one.
Therefore, she treated Qiqi better than her real daughter. She could give whatever Qiqi wanted.
She was worried that she would lose this girl too, so she must treat Qiqi well.
She always felt that Qiqi was living the extended life of her daughter. That was why she couldn’t accept the fact that her daughter had fallen for her son.
But she knew that no one except her son would be able to console her and bring her out of grief at this moment.
Zheng Jing opened the door of his sister’s room and closed it softly.
His sister was sitting on the bed, covered with a blanket, uttering no sound.
Zheng Jing’s heart ached. He came to her side and removed her blanket.
“Lun!” He called her by the name in a low voice. His heart felt anxious that he almost lost control.
Zheng Lun’s eyes were closed and her hair was unkempt. She looked pale and traces of tears were visible on her cheeks. Her lips had fresh wounds on them.
Hearing her brother’s voice, Zheng Lun opened her eyes slowly and tears gushed out of them.
Seeing her brother’s handsome face so close to her, she suddenly sat up and threw herself into his arms and cried out loudly.
“Brother, I am so scared… are you abandoning me? Do you hate me? Am I that useless?”
Zheng Jing stiffened but held his sister tightly after a second. He patted her back gently and said with a firm voice, “Silly girl, what are you thinking? I will not abandon you. You are always my sister and I will always like you. ”
Zheng Lun was already in tears. She just couldn’t believe what her brother said.
“But you have a girlfriend already and she will be the only one in your heart. I will not! Brother, I don’t like her!”
Zheng Lun never hated anyone. But it was the first time for her to dislike Zhu Ruotong, who looked graceful and broad-minded.
She knew that she was being jealous.
She hated herself for behaving like this.
But she couldn’t control her emotions. She just could not stop liking her brother.
Zheng Jing said inside his heart –”Qiqi, I also don’t like her.”

Zheng Lun got startled. Her fragile heart cracked and broke down within a second.

“I am 32 years old and I should get married now. Mom and dad have urged me too many times and I can’t delay it any more. You are not young either and you should find a boyfriend, too.”

She held Zheng Jing’s neck, and kissed him.
Her kiss was bitter yet strong as if she had turned into a totally different person.

“Lun, we can’t do this. You know clearly that we are siblings and we mustn’t kiss.”
