Xixi’s parents and elder sister walked over to see the baby, too.
Watching the touching sight, Qin Chu had complicated feelings inside.
He remembered Mian’s date of delivery was several days earlier than Xixi’s.
Now that Xixi’s baby was born, he wondered how his Mian and their baby were doing and where they were right now.
He wondered if Mian would be scared or sad when she gave birth to their baby without him staying by her side.
Standing in a corner, Qin Chu watched Xixi’s family silently.
Rick couldn’t bear to let go of the infant. Xixi’s mother asked to see the baby three times, but he looked as if he didn’t hear her.
“Rick…” Nie Lingxuan reminded him in a loud voice.
“Huh?” He finally snapped back to his senses.
“Give us the baby. We’ll give her a bath. Wait here for Xixi; she will want to see you.”
“Oh. Okay.”
Hearing her instruction, Rick handed the baby to his mother-in-law reluctantly.
Holding the baby carefully, Xixi’s parents and sister walked off.
Qin Chu and Rick waited at the door. About 15 minutes later, Xixi was pushed out of the OR.
With a waxen complexion and messy hair, she had tears in her eyes.
Rick walked over immediately and bent to kiss her forehead.
“Xixi, thank you. Our daughter is very pretty. We’re a family of three now.”
“Yeah.”
Xixi nodded as tears came out of her eyes.
“Why are you crying? Are you in pain?” Rick was alarmed.

“Do you feel any discomfort?”

The surgeon explained, “Don’t worry. Many new mothers are emotional and cry when the babies are born… Congratulations. The baby is healthy, and the operation is successful. Take good care of your wife.”
