The next day, it was finally time for Theo and Helvi to go on their honeymoon.

Instead of the usual three rounds, they stopped at one the previous night, as they would have to get up early to prepare, and could do it when they arrived at their destination.

If they left Nemophila around the time when the sun rose, they should arrive after noon.

Because of this, they would be having lunch on the road, and would have to prepare it as well.

Since Theo had been preparing lunch lately so they could eat with Xena and Celia, it was decided that Helvi would be making it that day.

She had never really cooked before meeting Theo, but learned quickly with him.

Helvi even became good enough to cook more elaborate things by herself, without Theo’s guidance.

“Alright, done.”

“Good job Helvi! I can’t wait for lunchtime!”

“Fufu, do not raise the bar so high.”

Helvi took off the white apron she wore in the kitchen and sat at the table.

She always wore beautifully cool clothes, but the apron looked cute on her.

Theo quickly put together a simple breakfast, and they ate together before finishing packing and leaving.

Theo had never left this town, and would be spending more time away from the house where he lived with the elderly couple than ever before.

“It feels weird. It’s not like I’m leaving forever, but it feels a bit lonely.”

“…I see. Do you not want to leave this house?”

This house that was occupied for a long time by an elderly couple was showing more signs of age than others.

The house itself had no second floor and was relatively spacious, but perhaps not suitable for Theo and Helvi to be living in forever.

“…Yes, it feels lonely leaving it behind. This is where all my memories of grandpa and grandma are.”

“…Yes, I see…”

Helvi saw most of Theo’s memories when they formed a contract, so she understood why he liked that house so much, and why he was reluctant to leave it.

“I’m sorry for being such a wet blanket right before we leave.”

“No, it’s fine. It is a wife’s duty to accept her husband’s feelings.”

“T-thank you.”

Theo said while looking a little embarrassed.

First, they would go to the mercenary guild to say goodbye to Fiore, since they would be leaving town for at least two weeks.

They talked about this trip the previous day, but they wanted to go talk to her again before leaving, since she helped them so much.

As they approached the guild, they spotted Fiore outside, cleaning.

It was so early that the guild was still closed.

“Fiore!”

“Ah, Theo! Helvi!”

Theo called out to Fiore from a little far away while waving his right hand and running towards her.

His left hand was holding his lover’s hand, which he pulled as he ran.

Fiore thought they kind of looked like a mother with her child, but opted not to mention this, although Helvi read her thoughts and made sure to correct her.

“You’re still here?”

“We’re going now, but we wanted to say goodbye to you first!”

“You came all this way just for that? Fufu, thank you Theo.”

Theo looked at her just like one would look at an elder sister, which Fiore thought was adorable.

When she lightly patted him on the head, he let out a cute giggle.

However, if she did it for too long, his wife would complain directly into her head, so she quickly stopped.

(Do not complain. You can pat his head for three seconds, and let him do it for five and…)

(Yes yes. I understand.)

(Your attitude towards me has been getting quite sloppy lately, don’t you agree? I am surprised, especially since I recently told you I am a devil.)

Fiore’s attitude towards Helvi stayed pretty much the same after she learned Helvi was a devil.

Fiore thought so too, and it was what Helvi wanted.

(You’re you, and that didn’t change. And it’s not sloppy, it’s friendly.)

(If your speech has become more friendly, you can go all the way and drop all formality. I do not mind.)

(No, you are older than me after all… Not that I know your age.)

(Over ten thousand.)

“Don’t you want to talk to each other too, Fiore and Helvi?

Asked Theo, since he had no idea a conversation was happening inside their heads.

“Eh? Ah, y-yes. Be careful out there Helvi.”

“Yes, I will.”

Helvi still had not revealed to Theo that she could read people’s minds, so he had no idea that they were actually speaking.

“I feel like you two are always talking with your eyes… Like you can tell what the other is thinking…”

“R-really? I feel like that fits way better with you and Helvi.”

“Of course. We are very much compatible with each other.”

“R-really? That’s great…!”

Both let out a sigh of relief as they managed to stop Theo from inquiring further.

(When are you going to tell him you can read minds?)

(…To be quite honest, I feel like I have lost the appropriate timing.)

(That’s what I thought. You should’ve told him from the beginning.)

After talking a little more, it was time to leave.

“We should get going! We’ll bring something back for you!”

“Thank you. Have fun.”

“Yes!”

“We will meet again Fiore, although I do not believe we will be gone for very long.”

“Yes. Be careful out there too Helvi.”

After saying goodbye, Theo and Helvi headed towards the eastern gate, while Fiore continued cleaning.

Some weeks later Helvi would regret not telling Theo about ‘that‘, but she did not know that yet.
