Neta Chara 37: Grimoire’s Marriage Conditions.

When I got home and opened the front door, Millie and Lina were waiting there.

“Kent! Kent! It’s you, Kent!”

Millie hugs me. She sandwiches my face between her breasts, and I become completely unable to escape. The pressure with which she has caught me makes my limbs ache. It’s only been three days, but I missed Millie’s smell. She seems to be sniffing me as well, as I could hear little sounds of air entering her nose at regular intervals.

I pulled my face out of Millie’s restraints.

“Phew, welcome back Millie. I’m just back home from training, so I must reek of sweat.”

“It’s fine, you couldn’t possibly smell bad to me, Kent… Haaaah, this is the first time I’ve smelled you in three days.”

Millie made a slightly dangerous remark, but I was relieved to see that the both of them came back safe and sound, having completed the quest.

“Hey, you! Get away from Onee-sama. I also did my best, so you have to praise me for all my efforts too!”

Lina broke our embrace and came in between me and Millie.

“Oh, yeah, you did great too.”

I pat Lina’s head. It soothes my soul to see her blushing and squirming.

“Ah, i-idiot! I won’t be satisfied with just head pats, you know.”

“Yes, I have to service both of you today. I’ll do whatever I can.”

“Really?”

Millie and Lina’s voices resonated. The moment they heard my words smiles appeared in their faces, their bodies began to writhe, and saliva started flowing out of their mouths.

Now I’m afraid of whatever kind of delusions are forming in their heads…

“Hmmm, guys… Your faces are a little scary, you look like predators.”

Feria seemed a little taken aback from looking at the two of them lost in their fantasies.

“Kent-sama, I think it would be better to report the previous matter to Miriaria-sama and Lina-san.”

Annabella urges me to let them know about the past incident.

As far as I was concerned, that was a matter I wished to leave for later, but I understood that rumors could grow out of hand quickly, so I agreed to let them know right away.

I tell Millie and Lina, who are still engrossed in their fantasies, about the situation.

“Millie, Lina, there’s something important I have to tell you before we do anything (like unleashing my sexual skills).”

“Huh? Sure, Kent. If it’s something important, maybe it can wait…”

“What? Something important? Don’t tell me you did it again by any means…”

Millie seemed to interpret my words in a weird way, but Lina seemed to understand what I was going to say beforehand, thanks to some kind of wild intuition or sixth sense.

However, she didn’t expect the victim this time to be her sister, though…

We decided to move to the reception.

“Hey! How could you allow it to happen!? What were you doing!?”

Lina grabs me by the neck and shakes me violently.

Millie, who would usually be the one stopping her, is now frozen in shock. I don’t know whether that is because she realized she arrived at a completely unrelated conclusion before, or because the situation in itself surprised her so much.

“Kent… It’s for Kent’s own good…”

I’m sorry, Millie, you expected me to be working properly. I’ll trouble you until I’m able to do that.

While apologizing to Millie in my heart, I saw Lina turning into a raging mad dog in front of me.

“I’m sorry, it was an accident. I mistook Lana who was using Heal on me for Lina and hugged her out of impulse.”

“You were supposed to be wearing the Hallucination Glasses! You should have seen her as just another man!”

“My opponent had knocked me out in the previous match, and someone took them off while I was asleep.”

“I’m really sorry. It was me who removed Kent-sama’s Glasses. It was my fault since I didn’t put them back on when Kent-sama regained consciousness.”

Annabella informs us about the situation from her perspective with a sorry face.

“Oh, it’s not just Annabella-san’s fault. If Lana-san had warned us beforehand, I could have done something too.”

Feria also felt responsible for the incident.

“I’m really sorry, Lina. It’s just that I was so happy that you had come back that I just wanted to hug you, that’s all.”

Lina’s face turned red in an instant from hearing my confession.

Kyuuma’s Pendant absorbs Lina’s magic with a “shoom, shoom, shoom”. Then, a glowing red stone was ejected from the pendant and fell to the floor with a “clink”. It is a magic stone, generated by the accumulation of Lina’s magic. Without the Pendant, I would have been burned to ashes.

“Y- you idiot! Do that to me, not to my sister! What’s more, big sister doesn’t like men at all. I bet she’s probably crying herself to sleep right now. She’s the type that holes herself up in her room for a week after being touched by a man.”

“S- she hates men that much, huh. I could guess a little from her attitude, but to think she was that disgusted by them…”

I now feel guilty about Lana.

“But now she’s become infected with the [Handsome] virus, right?”

Feria asks me for confirmation. And yes, that would be right. I could feel a faint activation of the [Handsome] skill even in that man-hating woman.

“You’re really the enemy of women, huh? So, what are you going to do? You plan on making big sister a part of your [Sexual Prodigy] relieving personnel?”

“I thought I’d talk to Millie and Lina before deciding on anything. What do you think, Millie?”

I spoke to Millie, who had been writing the hiragana of ‘no’ with her finger on the desk where the conversation is taking place.

“Yes… It’s fine by me if she falls in love with Kent… I’m his property after all… You don’t particularly need to ask for my opinion on the matter.”

Millie expresses her opinion in a somber voice.

I’ll make sure to make Millie happy while she relieves my [Sexual Prodigy] skill today, because I can’t bear to see her like that.

“How about you, Lina? Are you against making Lana part of my skill relieving personnel?”

I centered my attention on Lina because it was hard for me to continue looking at Millie.

“I think there is nothing else to be done after she came into contact with your skill, but she is the eldest daughter of the Dorman house. How do you plan to do it? She didn’t mistakenly injure you like me, so what will be your reason to bring her in?”

She agreed with me that we had to bring her in but, at the same time, asked me if I had any means planned to achieve that.

“Let’s see. In the past, the Dorman house produced many ex-Demon Kings. Now, they are famous for having had many positions of power inside the Magician’s Guild, so they have a pretty high social standing. Currently they have no noble rank holders, so they are technically peasants, but if we proceed forcibly, we would be held in contempt by the Magician’s Guild… how should we proceed, then?”

Huh!? So Lina was really a full-on spoiled rich kid!”

It surprised me to hear from Annabella about the Dorman family. I think things are not yet desperate enough to make the Magician’s Guild an enemy by taking Lana in but, leaving the situation as it is makes me worried too.

Well, what to do?

“Then, why don’t we employ her as his exclusive therapist? After all, Kent is a rare [Red Card] holder, and the Magician’s Guild should value him as a precious human resource. There should not be a problem if we bring her in using that excuse.”

Feria suggested that Lana be my private doctor.

“Your exclusive therapist… Now that you mention it, Kent really has a [Red Card]. Papa and Mama are the kind of people who would turn even two of their daughters into concubines for the sake of making ties with Kent who is a [Red Card] holder and the future husband of the Black Dagger’s house Millie onee-sama.”

Lina seems to be thinking about encouraging her parents to offer both Lana and herself as my concubines after hearing Feria’s suggestion.

I wonder if it’s just me, but I feel like this situation grew a lot more complicated than I first anticipated.

“Lina, I’m fine with you becoming my concubine but… Lana, she hates men, doesn’t she?”

“You idiot! Think about what would happen if a therapist from the Dorman house came here and you ended up getting horny and assaulting her!”

“What would happen?”

“You’d definitely be found dead the next morning!”

…Seriously!? Seems like they are going to cast a deadly curse or some kind of instantaneous death spell on me. I’ve already had sex with Lina, but it seems like if her parents found out about it, my cold corpse will appear in some riverbank the following day.

I became worried midway through Lina’s explanation and asked her, afraid.

“Lina, you and I already did it… am I not seriously in danger?”

“Y- you idiot! I did that for atonement, so it’s okay! Papa and Mama won’t complain because I injured a young noble… you, that is. But my big sister is different, she is the rising star of the Dorman house, and everyone thinks highly of her. That’s why I don’t think my parents will give her to you for some half-baked reason.

Lina says that, rather than employing Lana, the rising star of the Dorman house, as an exclusive therapist, it would be a better option to make her a concubine of mine. That way, she would gain a better social status, thus giving her parents a good reason to give her to me.

But, while it’s true that I’m Millie’s master, in reality I’m just a bum without a job, so I don’t see why anybody would want to marry me.

“Hey, Lina. I’m just your run-of-the-mill demon boy, are there any merits in marrying someone like me?”

I asked Lina the question that suddenly popped in my mind.

“If the only thing you had going for you was being a noble, I think they wouldn’t budge. The thing is, on top of that, you are also a [Red Card] holder, and that’s your greatest advantage. If big sister or I received your seed and gave birth, the child would have a chance to be a [Red Card] holder too. However, there are not many [Red Card] holders who leave offspring, and it is theorized that their fertility is low.”

K- kids, huh? Speaking of which, I’ve been coming inside of them without any worries, but it seems like even if the chance of getting them pregnant is low, it can still happen.

I am astonished at my thoughtless behavior.

“Is the [Card]´s color hereditary? My parents were [Black] but… I’m [Blue].”

Annabella questions Lina’s remarks.

“In your case, Anabella, it might be that it was due to a recessive gene. It could be explained by having a relative of the third degree or closer who had a [Blue Card]. You see, just by looking at the statistics one can conclude that about 50% of the people inherit the [Card] color from their parents, 40% of them inherit it from their parent’s parents or siblings, and the rest from relatives of the third degree, as I said earlier. That’s why, just talking statistically, the kids I conceive from Kent’s seed will have a 50% probability of having either a [Red Card] or a [Blue Card].”

“I see… So, Lina-san giving birth to a rare [Red Card] holder kid would be a matter of great significance to her parents, and for the sake of increasing the probabilities, they would even be willing to hand her big sister, you say…”

Annabella is convinced after hearing Lina’s story…

Hold on a minute. Aren’t they treating me like I’m nothing more than a breeding horse? Well, leaving my treatment aside, it seems like here in Grimoire it is common sense for parents to have their daughters marry men strategically for the sole purpose of giving birth to children… isn’t that right?

I raised my question.

“Is it common sense here in Grimoire for parents to offer their daughters’ hand just for the sake of the kid’s [Card]’s color?”

“Just for the color, you say!? What!? ‘Just’ for it!? I told you before, the [Card]’s color indicates the potential of the holder. A [Purple Card] kid being born is reason enough to make their whole family dance in excitement, and you can be sure they would raise that kid with the utmost care. Everything the family owns would be invested in them. And why is that you ask? It is because if that [Purple Card] kid ends up in a position of power in the future, the family will benefit from that as well. Enough to guarantee them prosperity for the rest of their lives. That is another reason why [Red], which exceeds [Purple], is treated like a national treasure.”

“A national treasure… isn’t that a bit excessive?”

They’re treating me like I’m a rare animal.

“You may not know it because you’re a ‘Lost Person’, but this world is clearly delineated by the colors of [Card]s. Even nobles and royalty would be despised and belittled if their [Card]’s color were [Black]. It is also common for marriages to be decided by [Card] colors. [Red Card] holders are in great demand.”

“Come to think of it, when I got married, my husband’s parents asked me if I really was okay with that decision. Since he was a [Green Card] holder, had my parents been alive back then, I’m sure they would have opposed it.”

Annabella told me about her marriage to supplement Lina’s narrative. In conclusion, thanks to my [Red Card], I’m on par with a heavily guarded national treasure, and due to that, Lina’s parents will be very willing to make Lana a concubine of mine, or so it seems.

“Then, should I go greet Lina’s parents and tell them I want to have both their daughters as concubines?”

“Let’s see. You still haven’t got the ‘Black Dagger’ surname, so I think it is best if we tell our parents both of us sisters will be living here in order to learn the way of nobility from Millie onee-sama at first. Then, after you marry her, we should reach out to them with the proposal of making us your concubines. I think that is how we should proceed.”

Lina, who knows how her parents would act, proposed a plan.

“Leaving Lina’s parents aside, shouldn’t we plan on how to deal with the Magician’s Guild and the Clinic too? Both Lina and Lana have jobs there after all, right?”

“I can continue my research from this very house, and my big sister Lana wouldn’t have problems with the Clinic if she decided to set out with the intention of being a private therapist for a [Red Card] holder.”

It looks like neither the Magician’s Guild nor the Clinic would hamper our plan as long as they gain a connection to me, and instead would be happy to help. With this, we solved most of our problems with Lana’s situation.

“So, will Kent-sama be picking Lana-san up?”

Annabella presses us for an answer.

“Ah, yes. That’s right… We’ll pick her up. We have to greet her parents too. I also want Millie and Lina to come with me, is that good?”

“Y- yes. That’s okay, Kent.”

“You have to make sure to greet them properly! Papa and Mama are very strict!”

Millie’s face is as stoic as ever, but Lina’s full of confidence she’ll be able to convince, or better said, deceive her parents.

“Well then, Feria and I will go to the Magician’s Guild and the Clinic to explain the situation.”

“Yes, thanks. I’ll leave it to you.”

I left Annabella and Feria in charge of dealing with the Magician’s Guild and the Clinic. It feels like I’m starting to get myself involved in serious matters, but I reap what I sow, I guess.

And that’s how I decided that Lana would become a part of my skill relieving personnel.
