Belphegor cackled, which made Ami pout.
“Fen, I don't understand old people…” she whined, making Belphegor cackle even louder.
However, noticing that Fenris didn't react, Ami turned to look over at him.
“... Fen?”
“—Ah, sorry… I was just… thinking…”
There was a serene air about Fenris as he gazed out at his surroundings. While he seemed relaxed amidst the trees swaying in the breeze and the gentle waves, Fenris’s eyes shined with life; all of his senses were fully engaged, taking in the sights and sounds of the peaceful lake.
“This is… really boring.”
“Really?” Ami asked dubiously, squinting at him. “It looks like you're having fun to me.”
“Nn, I am. It's… a good boring…”
She gave him an incredulous look.
“... Riiiiight…” Ami said, covertly turning towards Belphegor.
“Do you get what he's saying?” she whispered.
“I do,” Belphegor sagely nodded. “He’ll probably enjoy fishing quite a bit.”
“... Huh.” She diverted her attention back to fishing.

“——Does that mean my brother is an old person already?!”
“If he's old, what does that make me…?” Belphegor asked, mildly distraught.
Ami thought for a moment.
“An eldritch being, ancient beyond comprehension?”
“... That sounds quite metal, actually. I’ll allow it.”
