Fenris logged back into NSOL the next morning, spawning in at the lake.
Fenris was eager to go fishing again after trying it yesterday; it was a surprising feeling for him, considering that he’d never found interest in anything before. Then again, he also hadn't actually paid attention to any of that stuff in the first place. Now that he began to take note of the world around him, Fenris suddenly realized something about himself.
… Am I… easily amused?
Considering all of the other things he could have tried doing, fishing struck him as one of the most boring activities available to him; it was a good boring—but boring nonetheless. What did he even enjoy about fishing? Why was it fun for him?
He tried thinking about it for a bit longer.

Realizing that he wasn't actually interested in the answer, Fenris promptly discarded that train of thought and happily went back to fishing.
After a few “NICE CATCH(es)!”, a small window popped up in the corner of his view, accompanied by a soft ringtone.
[Caller — Louis]
“Oh…!” Fenris’s tail unconsciously started wagging.
After a moment of struggling to pick up the call (he still hadn't gotten the hang of using the handsfree menus), Fenris finally managed to answer it.

After noticing that Fenris was online, his three friends decided to take a break in the city square so that Louis could contact him.
“—Hello.”
“Yo, Fen!” Louis said, once the call connected. “Are you free right now?”
“Yes.” Fenris replied, his monotone voice dripping with excitement.
“Me ‘n the others were gonna go hunting in the southern steppes today—you wanna come with?”
“Sure.”
“Great! We’ll meet you at the main plaza—don't keep us waiting too long, yeah?”
“Nn, got it. Bye.”
“... Alright, doggy secured!” Louis ended the call and turned to Gen and Lily, who had seated themselves at the edge of the fountain. Lily let out a small “Yes!” as she fistpumped.
“Ara…” Intrigued by this reaction, Gen couldn't help but tease her a bit. “Were you looking forward to seeing him again so much~?”
“Bwuphgvbxugfgr—” Lily made an incredible noise.
It took a few seconds before she recovered enough to sputter out,
“T-that’s not it! I was just excited since I didn't get to fluff his ears yesterday!”
Louis raised an eyebrow.
“So, you were… ‘excited’ at the thought of touching him?”
“Ara… These younguns are so forward with their desires…” Gen put a hand to her cheek and shook her head.
Lily smiled.

Looking up at the sky together with their backs on the ground, Louis and Gen came to an agreement.
“... Let's try not to tease Lily too much.”
“... Certainly.”
