Every now and then, it called out to her. It tempted her to use their combined strength. Although her powers were no longer sealed and Vy had gained better control, she still worried what could happen.

She closed her eyes and let out a breath of air. In an instant, Vyrena assumed her Kyu form. Her dark coloured fur camouflaged her form in the cover of night. Her movements were as light as a feather.
In the blink of an eye, Vyrena was now behind the creature that had impaled El's shoulder. With one swift motion, she bit down on the creature's head, decapitating it instantly.
The creature's body grew limp and fell to the side. Vyrena severed the limb of the creature, leaving it impaled in El's shoulder as the rest of the carcass fell to the side. Using her tails, she laid the carcass gently to rest on the grass. She wanted to avoid any unnecessary noise that could alert the other creatures.
El was barely conscious when Vyrena checked on her. Using telepathy, Vyrena told El to hang in there, as she carefully move her into the care of the children. Vyrena used her soft fur tails to lift El as gently as she could.
Slowly and steadily, she moved over to the children and laid El down infront of them.
Vyrena initiated telepathy with Boss. She knew his healing abilities were not perfect, and such a huge wound would be difficult for him to heal.
-Stop the bleeding first. Do not pull out the appendage. We will deal with that later.- she instructed before quickly turning her attention back to the creatures.
Vy had taken down one of them, and so did Sorren. But there were still quite a few of them left. Ronni now assumed his full beast form, a dire hound. His beast form was three times the size of his human hybrid form.
He had a grey short fur coat and a lean form. Ronni fought well alongside Sorren, who made full use of his sword and his abilities.
Vyrena turned her attention back to the creature she had decapitated. After she bit its head off, she had flung it to the side. Now, she was walking up to it for further examination.
At first, she was worried decapitation would not be enough to destroy it. But since the body did not reanimate, it seems like her attack did the trick. Under the cover of darkness, it was difficult to see the features of its head.
It had no eyes, and a gaping mouth that went from side to side, filled with sharpened jagged teeth. Having them out in the night was the perfect cover, since these creatures could not see.
-But that means, they would not be affected by any light source.- Vy thought to herself.
Vyrena summoned small spheres of flame. This instantly lit up their immediate surroundings. The creatures were unaffected by the light, as they were unable to see. But this gave the survivors a greater advantage as they could see who they were fighting in the light.
The children were shocked to see the creatures that surrounded them. But all of them remained strong, no one was going to go down without a fight. Vyrena turned her attention back to the remaining creatures.
To make things a little easier for everyone she decided to use herself as bait to lure the creatures to her. She covered her paws with flames, which quickly set the surrounding grass ablaze. Vyrena stood her ground and summoned more fiery flames.
In an instant, four of the creatures were surrounded by walls of flame. They were unable to move as they were trapped within it, being burned alive. All four creatures screeched in pain and agony as they were burned by Vyrena's flames.
No matter what they did to try and put it out, nothing worked. Two of the creatures, that were confronting Ronni and Sorren, could hear the screams of their companions. While they were distracted, Ronni and Sorren used the opportunity to counter attack.
Ronni lunged forward at once of the creatures and clawed into its limbs. The creature fell limp to the ground as Ronni bit down on it's neck. Blood spewed from the gapping wound.
The creature flailed for it's life but Ronni did not let go.
"Now, Sorren!' Ronni called out.
Sorren heeded the call and moved forward swiftly. He impaled his sword into the creature's head, effectively crushing it's skull. With the brain destroyed in the process the creature laid lifeless in a matter of seconds.
Sorren swiftly removed his sword and turned his attention to the second creature. It had detected their movement due to its superior hearing. The creature leapt forward to strike down upon Sorren.
He had nowhere to run.
Instinctively, Sorren crossed his arms above his head for cover. He had one knee on the ground as he braced for impact. In that moment, something sprouted forth from the ground.
It grew at incredible speeds and quickly towered over Sorren's crouched body. It was a huge ballooning funghi. As the creature was about to make contact, the funghi burst open. It released spores point blank at the creature.
The blind creature was caught off guard. It abandoned its attack as the spores entered its mouth and airway. Sorren, realising that he was not injured looked. He was surprised to see the creature backing away.
Seconds later, when the creature tried to attack again, it stopped in its tracks. Sorren looked on in shock as the creature's rubbery skin began to dry and crust. The creature desperately tried to scratch its own body.
The pale grey skin soon turned black and crusty. This spread across its entire body before the creature stopped moving altogether and dropped dead. Within a matter of seconds, its entire body had decomposed.
In its place, a troop of mushrooms sprouted from the remains.
Even Ronni was amazed and somewhat fearful of what had just happened. He took to his hybrid form and pat Sorren on the back.
"Good work, Sorren. Remind me never to get on your bad side,"
