CHAPTER 29

Houho Gakuen Elementary School is different from other private schools. It's even different from public schools.

The students who attend are the children of the upper class. In other words, many of the children of companies that support the Japanese economy attend the school.

Basically, parents seldom come out when there are disputes between children.

If the situation is mutual, both sides end up losing the fight.

The unspoken understanding is that disputes within the school should be settled within the school. However, if the situation goes too far, it can turn into a problem between families and the parents will come out.

Although they are children, the students are the children of rich people. Many of them are proud, a bit arrogant, and have ambitions to be on top.

That is why teachers treat them with the utmost care.

They don't want to be taken advantage of. On the other hand, if they are too strict, the parents will come out and give them trouble. It is difficult to find the right balance.

That's why 90% of the teachers at the elementary and middle schools are graduates of Houfeng.

Rich teachers for rich kids. They know how to treat the children, and when someone from the upper class is in charge of teaching, the children listen very well.

Even so, there are a certain number of people from ordinary families who become teachers at Houho.

These people are taught in advance by the other teachers about the unspoken rules and how to treat the students.

As long as they don't do anything unnecessary, the students are not stupid and will at least listen to what the teachers say.

The reason why Tsubaki is thinking about this is because an exception to this rule has occurred.

In the first place, it was because her homeroom teacher had taken a sudden leave of absence due to illness.

Furthermore, it was bad enough that there was a pool class that day.

It was even worse that the replacement teacher was a newcomer from an ordinary family.

It was also bad luck that he was a very passionate teacher who would have been popular with the students in a public school.

To put it simply, I did something that you would see in any public school.

After the pool, I found a lost item in the girls' locker room. The item was a pair of underwear.

The teacher showed the actual item to Tsubaki and the others, and after class, in a classroom full of boys and girls, they played

"Whose underwear is this?" in a classroom full of boys and girls.

In this case, the correct answer was, "There was a lost item in the locker room, so any students who have any idea should come to the staff room.

Tsubaki's head began to hurt from the lack of consideration for the younger students, but for the older students who were in the middle of their second growth spurt, and from the new teacher's lack of understanding that this was Houho Academy.

As soon as the teacher showed her pants, Tsubaki saw a female student looking down and shaking.

It was a far cry from her usual dignified appearance, and Tsubaki immediately knew that she was the one who had forgotten her pants, and she wanted to hold her head in her hands.

Tsubaki wanted to confront Toudou about why she had left his underwear in the changing room, but there was no way she could do that.

However, Toudou's current attitude was obvious to anyone who saw her.

In fact, the girl sitting next to him, Todo's right-hand woman, noticed Todo's behavior and started to cringe.

"What is it? Is there no one here? It can't be helped. I'll go ask the other classes."

The new teacher said, and Tsubaki spat all kinds of abusive words at him in her mind.

You're a bitch! Are you an idiot!?

You're an idiot who can't even imagine how embarrassing or hurtful an adolescent child can be!

You're going to expose them to the whole school. Who the hell hired that teacher?

I didn't want to ingratiate myself with Toudou for this, but

Tsubaki would be in trouble if Toudou were to fail me here.

Tsubaki was afraid that Todou would become the target of teasing from the other students and that she would shrink.

As a typical child of a good family, Todo would not have any tolerance for vulgar jokes. It was easy to imagine her being told all sorts of things by boys who got carried away.

It was a pity, and Tsubaki quietly and gently raised her right hand.

"It's me."

"Hmm?"

"That's why the underwear is mine."

Instantly, the students started to buzz.

What? Is that Asahina-san's? I'm not sure if it's a good idea, but it's a good idea.

I'm not sure what to do, but I'm going to do it.

"What is it? I'm not sure if it was Asahina's or not. Be careful."

Tsubaki got up from his seat and took the underwear from the teacher.

Of course, she didn't forget to warn him.

"...Sensei, did you go to college at Houfeng?"

"Yes."

"If so, you probably don't know this, but this is not a public school like the one you attended. The students who attend this school are all the daughters of famous families. Parents don't get involved in disputes between children, but when it comes to teachers, it's a different story. I want you to realize that disrespecting us means disrespecting our family. You must have heard from other teachers how to be a teacher at Houfeng Academy. If you can't abide by them, then it would be better for you to resign from your teaching position."

"You know what? It may be embarrassing, but don't take it out on me."

"I'm not taking it out on you, I'm advising you."

Having nothing more to say, Tsubaki turned her heel and went back to his seat.

Just then the bell rang, and the grumpy teacher glared at Tsubaki and walked out of the classroom.

After the teacher had left, the classroom was silent and no one made a sound or moved.

They just glanced at Tsubaki in a reserved manner.

Tsubaki stood up and glared at her classmates who were staring at her, thinking that she was getting nowhere.

"...What is it?"

Tsubaki's eyes met with one of the boys, and he let out a grunt of displeasure.

When asked by Tsubaki, the male student shook his head, "Nothing!" He shouted loudly.

With that, the rest of the classmates came to their senses and started rushing around, getting ready to leave.

Tsubaki, looking at her classmates with a sideways glance, also prepared to go home, grabbed her bag and walked out of the classroom into the hallway.

As Tsubaki walked to the door to leave, Todou's right-hand girl was waiting for him in the hallway.

"May I have a moment?"

"Why don't you go to the private dining room?"

He knew what he needed to do, and when Tsubaki told her where she was probably being summoned, she gave him a curious look, as if she wondered how she knew before she told her.

However, Tsubaki didn't bother to explain the reason to her in detail, she just got the room number of the private rooms from her and went to that place.

Standing in front of the door, she knocked and heard a voice inside saying, "Come in," so she opened the door and entered.

As expected, Todou was inside, sitting alone on the sofa.

She didn't look as dignified as she usually did, and she looked somewhat guilty.

Tsubaki walked up to Toudou, took out the underwear from her bag, and held it out in front of him.

"Yes. This is yours, isn't it?"

Todou looked pained but silently took the underwear and put it in her bag.

"What are you trying to do by ingratiating yourself with me?"

"I'm not trying to ingratiate myself with you. I didn't mean to ingratiate myself with you, because the teacher's behavior was too much. Besides, I wanted to get home early."

"I don't want to owe you anything, you know."

"So I don't think you owe me anything."

"You're lying! It's impossible that you would help me without a plan!"

Todou stubbornly rejected Tsubaki's words, as she couldn't believe that Tsubaki had helped him out of an adversarial relationship.

Tsubaki, who could not reveal everything to Toudou right now, thought about how to convince Toudou, and decided to offer her an exchange condition.

"There's a store in Kagurazaka that's famous for its cheesecake. I'll take care of it."

"I've heard of it, but are you sure that's what you want?"

"Yes. I can't think of anything else."

You owe me a favor, and I'll pay you back in candy. What a thing. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this, but I'm sure I'll be able to do it.

She decided that if she didn't want to leave any loose ends between her and Tsubaki, it would be better to return the money as soon as possible, and Todou agreed with her words.

Since she had returned the underwear to Todou, Tsubaki had no need to stay here.

Tsubaki told Todou that she was leaving because her lesson was coming up, and left the room.

The next day, when Tsubaki was with Anna, Todou came in alone, snorting.

"I fooled you! That restaurant doesn't accept customers at first sight!"

I'm sure you're not the only one.

"Aren't you cute, Todou-san?"

"You have a really good personality."

Todou swore at Tsubaki for a while, then the girl who had come to pick him up nudged him and took him by the arm and walked away.

For better or worse, Todou is a serious person.

Since then, the new teacher had never been assigned to Tsubaki's class, even on a temporary basis. The head of the school probably heard about it and took it into consideration.

Whenever they meet in the staff room, he glares at Tsubaki whenever he catches sight of her and shows off his narrow-mindedness by trying to bring up the underwear issue at every turn. Tsubaki was dismayed at his attitude as an adult before being a teacher.

One of his colleagues, unable to see what was going on, warned him about it, but he replied, "My father is close to the head of the school, so it's not a problem."

Later that day, the new teacher who had been so hostile to

Tsubaki began to get scared whenever she saw him, and would sneak off to get out of sight.

Tsubaki hadn't said anything to her parents, and the school didn't seem to have said anything either.

Tsubaki was wondering what was going on, but it seemed that Saeki had a hand in it.

Since the spring, Kyosuke has been talking to Saeki more often, and Saeki has been able to talk to Kyosuke more normally than before.

On several occasions, Kyosuke, Anna and Saeki used the private room and he offered them sweets.

It was then that Tsubaki heard from Saeki about the new teacher.

It was then that Tsubaki heard from Saeki about the new teacher,

"As a teacher at Houfeng, I thought his attitude was a bit unfair."

She also said he had connections with the chancellor. When I told my mother, she was unexpectedly upset. The next day, I went to the school to complain. I went to the school the next day to complain. As the daughter of the president, she couldn't overlook it.

"I'm really sorry."

"It's okay. It's okay, it's the teacher who's always holding on to what the kid said that's crazy."

As Saeki said, it's the one who persists and complains about what the child has said that's crazy.

The way Tsubaki said it was not good either. Still, ignoring the school's rules was not in the best interest of the new teacher.

Speaking of which, Tsubaki now remembered that Saeki's mother was the daughter of the chancellor.

It was a bad thing that she had skimmed through Saeki's route, or in other words, she didn't remember much of the story.

But thanks to Saeki, it was resolved before it became a problem.

"The teacher would have gotten into trouble again if I hadn't complained. I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that."

"It's a matter of trust for the school. If the head of the school has made a personnel error, the number of new students for the next year will be visibly reduced, even though they have sent their children to the school because they sympathize with the school's philosophy."

As Kyosuke said, the new teacher had no intention of changing his attitude unless he was in a tight spot.

Worst of all, if you make enemies with the children and parents of a family that ranks high among the upper class, you can be sure that other prominent families will turn their backs on you.

I think we should not do anything unnecessary, because if we stay quiet, we can get our salary and live a secure life.

"But I'm okay with it because I don't have to be unnecessarily hostile anymore. It's really annoying."

"You're making too many enemies unnecessarily. You're a battle brain."

"Kyosuke, there is no peace to be without fighting."

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that.

"I'm not sure what to make of that."

"I can't."

I can't. Tsubaki answered immediately.

It is impossible to change a personality that has been ingrained in you since your previous life.
