Seeing the man, who looked around his late 50's hug Lu Shuya tightly, Kang Liang felt slightly antagonistic. He was about to rip the man right off of Lu Shuya but then, Lu Shuya said,
"Please let me go!"
The man did as told. Then, he looked at the girl and gave her a toothy smile.
"You're becoming more and more like your mother the more I see you," the man said with a laugh. He then examined the girl more before he said, "Speaking of Xiaoling, how is she? Or rather how are your siblings?"
Lu Shuya frowned slightly and then she said, "Mom's fine. So are Duyi and AnLing, but rather than that, Uncle Xing, What happened, why are you living in such a place?"
Hearing the words uncle Xing, Kang Liang truly wondered if it was her actual uncle or not, but at the moment, he felt like a complete outsider so he didn't feel as if he had the right to interrupt.
Meanwhile, looking a bit guilty, Lu Xing laughed.
"Uhhh... I..." the man said, completely unsure of what to say, as he avoided Lu Shuya's piercing gaze.
Seeing this, Lu Shuya sighed.
"Illegal gambling again?." Lu Shuya said matter of factly. As soon as she had said this, Lu Xing finally looked up to meet her eyes and then, she frowned and said, "Uncle Xing, why do you insist on making money illegally? Why can't you just get yourself a real job!"
Lu Shuya was exasperated by her uncles ability to get himself into a hard place. As she put her hand on her forehead she looked around his home and the she sneered, "This is probably the worse place you've ever lived in. Have you ever considered coming back to the Lu family? This place is unbecoming for the eldest of the Lu family."
Hearing the harsh criticism, Lu Xing rubbed the back of his head as if someone had hit him hard on the back of the head and then he murmured, "... you really are my sisters daughter... you even sound like her."
Hearing this, Lu Shuya frowned. She was flattered by being compared to her mother but this was not the time.
Lu Xing knew her well, he knew what to say to her in order for Lu Shuya to be more tamed.
When she was younger, Lu Xing used to visit the house, every now and then, when he would come back home. To the elders, it seemed like the man would come back every 5-6 years, but truly, he would spend 6 months collecting money in the country, and 6 months outside the country enjoying his life. This was the life he chose and he loved it, but the problem was, the man was lame and he didn't like working hard. So he found himself in a predicament; either make money illegally or stay in the same country forever. He chose the former.
Seeing as how Lu Shuya wasn't giving into his compliments, Lu Xing turned to Kang Liang, Who he had not noticed for a while and then he said,
"Oh... is this your boyfriend?" As Lu Xing said this he heavily examined Kang Liang to the point where Kang Liang wanted to hide behind Lu Shuya like a child meeting a stranger for the first time, but instead, he didn't move at all.
Kang Liang glimpsed at Lu Shuya, almost begging her to save him but Lu Shuya just smirked and enjoyed his discomfort.
After what had happened this morning. She believed he deserved it.
Right then, Lu Xing let out a strange sigh which caused Lu Shuya and Kang Liang to put all their attention on him.
Lu Xing: "Well well Well... you're Kang Liang aren't you?"
Hearing this, Kang Liang beloved he would freeze but instead, he backed away from Lu Xing.
Frowning, Lu Xing looked over to Lu Shuya and said, "If you don't really like like him, it's best you drop him, his family is psycho."
Hearing this, Lu Shuya frowned and she was about to defend the Kang's but then, Kang Liang spoke.
"How do you know about me?" Kang Liang said coldly, with a sharp glare in his eye. "No one knows me."
Kang Liang's statement was strange to Lu Shuya, but this didn't erase the fact that he was right. Unlike his other siblings, the boy had spent his whole life hiding from his responsibilities in the Kang family business.
He couldn't stand business. Not even a little bit. His true talents and interest lied in entertainment, but primarily music.
But in music, he refused to be Kang Liang.
The more time he spent at Liang Ke, the more time he spent away from the Lu family, and in turn, this caused him to be like a ghost family member.
Unlike Kang Jun who was known as a legend, Kang Liang was known as the invisible failure, and so, no one ever kept track of him...
But Lu Xing knew him? This was all too strange.
Ignoring Kang Liang completely, Lu Xing, whose expression had changed after realizing who Kang Liang was, put his hands on Lu Shuya's shoulders.
"Did you hear me? Please do as I say. Nothing good will come out of being involved with a the Kang's." Lu Xing said with an exaggerated voice.
Hearing this, Lu Shuya frowned and then she pushed the man slightly away from her so he was no longer holding her shoulders.
Lu Shuya: "Firstly, I'm not 'involved' with him and he isn't my boyfriend. Actually, he's my brother in law. And secondly, why would you say such a thing, you don't even know the Kang's. It's not really nice to talk trash about people you don't know."
Lu Shuya was straight to the point as she spoke to Lu Xing. As she watched Lu Shuya, Kang Liang felt as if her manner in this situation reminded her a bit of Lu AnLing but he didn't voice...
Around Lu Xing, Lu Shuya's manner was calmer. Kang Liang had immediately noticed this but he didn't know why.

Back then, Lu Shuya agreed but she wanted something in return. She wanted a place where she could release her frustrations and that was when Lu Shuya began experiencing the adult world of drinking and smoking...
Looking at Lu Shuya with side eyes, Lu Xing said, "Brother in law?..."
"Yes, AnLing married a Kang." Lu Shuya said simply as if this was not a shocking revelation.
"How...?" Lu Xing said in a low voice.
"That's unimportant. Why I came here today is to ask you—" Lu Shuya started, but Lu Xing suddenly cut her off.
"Who? Just tell me who she married and I'll do whatever you want." Lu Xing said with a worried expression spreading across his face.
Seeing this, Lu Shuya and Kang Liang cocked their heads to the side before they exchanged looks.
Lu Shuya: "Kang Jun."
Hearing this, Lu Xing's face turned pale.
As a man and uncle, Lu Xing was practically trash, but he did care about his nieces and nephews. It was sweet, but Lu Shuya didn't believe this excused his many faults.
"Why did you want to know?" Lu Shuya asked questioningly. She seemed cold and a bit emotionless but truly, inside, she was worried.
She had defended the man to many people, if I had truly done something to hurt Kang Jun, then she would not be able to protect him anymore...
