Chapter 119: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (16)

After such an incident, the mood became subtle.

Sheng Zhiyu cast a long gaze at Ningcheng, as though criticizing his picking a guqin girl, which led to spoiling everyone’s mood.

Ningcheng didn’t want to admit to his mistake, but he said, “How could I have known I would be so smart?”

“Alright, ” Su Huang said, interrupting their locked eyes. He looked at Sheng Qianmo. “If you want to go to the military camp tomorrow morning, you should go back and rest.”

He could see that after Shu Nuan’s appearance, Sheng Qianmo had lost interest in drinking.

Sheng Qianmo uttered a faint, “Eh,” and said, “We’ll meet again in a couple of days.”

Ji Xili knew that he was referring to her hunting invitation. She couldn’t help but smile and follow up. “Well, then I will go back to rest early as well.”

Ning Cheng Yuan snorted and then laughed, before muttering, “Ji Xili, you’re hopeless.”

This day, Ji Xili had come with her subordinates. Sheng Zhiyu could not find an excuse to escort her back. Moreover, Ji Xili had drank little tonight and thus wasn’t drunk.

As Sheng Zhiyu watched Ji Xili’s gentle smile toward Sheng Qianmo, his heart became more depressed. But contrary to expectations, nothing about his emotions could be detected on the surface.

Su Huang pushed open the door and walked out with some others in tow. Ningcheng Yuan couldn’t help but throw a wink at a girl passing by in the corridor. Sheng Zhiyu mumbled something, to which Ningcheng refuted, “Better than you, who hasn’t kissed a woman in years!”

When his voice fell, Ji Xili had a changed look on her face, the top of her tongue on her lower lip, and some emotions filled her eyes with a complicated gaze.

Sheng Zhiyu also subconsciously stole a glance at Ji Xili. Seeing her eyes hanging down and not finding anything in her expression, he chuckled just to go through his emotions.

Su Huang looked at them, his mouth holding a smile. Just then, he glanced by mistake to his side, catching a glimpse inside a half-open screen.

Shu Nuan was standing at the table, forced to take the wine handed by the guest with knitted eyebrows. She should’ve been drinking for some time now. Her little face was red and glowing, and her beautiful eyes were glistening: just lovely to look at.

Even people like Ning Cheng who called guqin girls would get them to drink, which showed that this girl wasn’t smart.

Su Huang turned to look at Sheng Qianmo at the back, wanting to ask him if he would like to help. But when he turned his head, he saw that Sheng Qianmo had opened the door, face cold. The drinking and the laughter came to an abrupt end.

Some people recognized him at a glance and said with disbelief, “Sheng, Prince Sheng?”

However, Sheng Qianmo just stood at the door, his cold eyes locked onto Shu Nuan. He spat out two words from his thin lips: “Come out.”

His tone didn’t have the slightest emotion, but everyone who heard him could feel the irresistible deterrence of his command.

Shu Nuan heard the voice and sobered a little. She gazed at him with confused eyes, and after staring for a while, she thought of something and lowered her head.

The guests in the room chased her away.

“The Fourth Prince called for you, yet you still haven’t gone to serve His Highness?!”

Shu Nuan’s eyes opened and she took a deep breath. In the end, she went to him, feeling dizzy. She walked into the table’s corner within a few steps. She grabbed the edge of the table, almost falling down. Finally, she fell into the man’s arms. But soon she felt a chill across her body. Her small hands frantically pushed him away, but the man’s slender and powerful hand grabbed the little hands trying to shove him away. He dragged her out with a cold face.

He didn’t plan to show the slightest kindness.
