Chapter 120: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (17)

He didn’t plan to show the slightest kindness.

Su Huang and several others saw Sheng Qianmo drag the little girl out of the Moon Pavilion with a cold expression. Su Huang was sure about one thing. While gazing Sheng Qianmo’s face, he muttered, “He is angry.”

Ningcheng Yuan shook his head, and said, “This was the expression he had at the military camp in the morning…”

Ji Xilli frowned a little.

“Shall we go and have a look?”

Ningcheng was the first to raise a hand opposing her. “I don’t. I want to go home and sleep!”

After saying that, he didn’t hesitate to turn around and leave, clearly wanting to not see Sheng Qianmo.

“This is Fourth Brother’s business. Let him solve it himself,” Sheng Zhiyu said, advising Ji Xili to leave.

Su Huang nodded, and said, “Let’s all go home.”

Ji Xili looked at them with a complex expression and glanced in the direction Sheng Qianmo had left. In the end, she had to leave with Su Huang.

Sheng Qianmo dragged Shu Nuan to the dark bank of the nearby river. Out of impulse, he threw her under a tree and gave her an intense gaze from above, staring at her from head to foot.

Behind Shu Nuan was the rough trunk of the tree. The ground was cold and wet, her hair had scattered, and her clothes had slipped down from her snow-white shoulders, revealing her porcelain-jade skin. The word “slave” on her collarbone was clear in his vision.

“Is there anything you want to say to me?”

Sheng Qianmo had thoughts he likely not forgive the idea that Shu Nuan what  had done beforehand. Looking at Shu Nuan so pitifully, pondering he could forgive her previous choice as long as her attitude was softer and she apologized and explained to him.

Before, Sheng Qianmo had believed he’d likely not forgive what Shu Nuan had done before. But looking at her pitiful figure, he considered forgiving her as long as her attitude was softer and she apologized and explained it all to him.

However, Shu Nuan lowered her head and said, “Nothing.”

Her throat was dry and voice somewhat trembling.

Perhaps she felt cold.

But Sheng Qianmo stared at her, gaze like cold steel daggers, looking more and more indifferent. He didn’t realize that his ideas at this time were a little ridiculous. At first, the little girl was thin, small, and flustered, and she’d appeared beneath his horse asking for help. He’d raised her with much difficulty. Now this little white wolf was rebelling against him without asking if he was willing to let her go.

“What can you do without This Prince?”

Shu Nuan tidied her clothes and mumbled, “Shu Nuan can live and do anything.”

“Like tonight?” Sheng Qian’s voice was cold. Her words were a joke. He couldn’t bear to bully her in the way those men had, so how could them doing it?

Shu Nuan bit her lip. She bowed her head and said nothing. She was still afraid of Sheng Qianmo, so although she kept her head down and didn’t look at him, her eyelashes trembled.

Sheng Qianmo’s cold eyes were still threatening. “Answer This Prince.”

Shu Nuan looked up at him, and in a soft voice she said, “Shu Nuan is not in good condition. However, does this have anything to do with the Fourth Prince?”

Her voice trembled with the cold, but he listened to every word she said. Sheng Qianmo’ stared at her emotionlessly for a moment and then turned to leave, indifferent.

He left her alone, standing under the tree.

Shu Nuan stared unblinking at Sheng Qianmo’s departure. In the end, she dropped onto her knees. She bent her legs, hugged her knees, and buried her head in them. After a while, she sniffled and stood up, leaving into the night.

The dark night long, it drew her a thin shadow in the water beside the shore, lonely and pitiful.
