My Little Girl (33)

Shu Nuan was thrown into the firewood house and treated as a guilty slave.

But despite this, Sheng Gu’s heart was not at peace. Her Fourth Uncle doted on Shu Nuan dearly; nearly the whole manor knew about it. And she had his doted slave flogged. There was a possibility that her Fourth Uncle would settle accounts with her upon his return…

Sheng Gu was worried, but Ah’Bi affirmed her. “Princess, you can rest assured. Prince Sheng is aware of the princess’s ill health. He would be reluctant to do anything to you. What’s more, it was that cheap slave who poisoned you first. You just taught her a lesson!”

Sheng Gu looked at the flowers nearby and nodded. “You’re right.”

Ah’Bi was a clever one and thought of something else. She uttered, “If the princess is not at ease, you can ask the Seventh Prince to come over. He likes the slave and knows that Prince Sheng is not here. He will certainly go find the slave. When Prince Sheng finds out that they are cheating on him, he will definitely not spare that slave!”

When Ah’Bi said this, Sheng Gu woke up from her daze instantly and nodded. “I see.”

Sheng Gu went to the military camp to inquire about Sheng Qianmo’s expected date of return. And on the day Sheng Qianmo would be coming back, she invited Sheng Lingyun to come over.

It was reasonable to say that normally Sheng Lingyun would rather spend his good time outside than by visiting Sheng Qianmo. But it was different this time. Inside the Shenghe Manor was a little beauty, the girl he was obsessed with. Sheng Lingyun had actually been worried because he could not find a reason to visit Shenghe Manor. But his little niece happened to invite him over, and it made Sheng Lingyun very happy.

Sheng Lingyun even changed into a new set of clothes, and brought with him some small gifts. He happily went to Shenghe Manor in a carriage.

After arriving, Sheng Lingyun did not hurry to find Shu Nuan. Instead, he took a gift to Sheng Gu first.

Sheng Gu was half-lying on the couch resting. When she saw him coming, she called him weakly, “Seventh Uncle…”

Sheng Lingyun put down the gift down and frowned. “Why do you look so pale?”

Ah’Bi, who was serving at Sheng Gu’s side, snorted coldly. “It was all that slave’s doing. She took advantage of the Fourth Prince’s absence to try and poison the princess in secret. The princess fell ill upon wearing the clothes she made!”

Sheng Liningun could not help but refute Ah’Bi. “How could that be? I don’t think she is such a person…”

Ah’Bi said, “Seventh Prince, you don’t know anything. This slave girl is simply vicious. She wants to take everything from the princess…”

“Stop it,” Sheng Gu interrupted with a frown.

As the master and servant sang to the same tune, Sheng Lingyun heard the key phrase… Sheng Qianmo wasn’t here.

Sheng Lingyun coughed and asked, “Where is she now?”

“Locked up in the firewood room,” Ah’Bi answered.

Sheng Lingyun looked at Sheng Gu, and asked, “Fourth Brother does not know about this, does he?”

Sheng Gu felt a little guilty as she bowed her head and murmured, “I was poisoned at the time, and in my anger I had her beaten until she confessed. I believe Fourth Uncle will ask for an explanation once he’s back.”

Sheng Lingyun sneered to himself. The circumstances were different now. He didn’t stand on Sheng Gu’s side, and was just an outsider in the situation. He believed in Shu Nuan’s innocence, not to mention his Fourth brother doted on her.

Shu Nuan was the first person his Fourth Brother was willing to do everything to care for. How could Sheng Gu be speaking the truth ?

But at this juncture, Sheng Lingyun still didn’t reprimand his little niece.
