The point of Mi Rong's sword shimmered as she flew towards Fei Ling's body. She aimed directly for her heart.

Just as the sword was about to sink into Fei Ling's flesh, another sword came just in time to stop her. The collision of the two swords had caused a loud clash. Mi Rong's grip on the sword was lost which had caused the sword to rebound back towards Mi Rong.

Without any time for anyone to stop the sword from hurting Mi Rong, her sword's handle had hit her directly on the joint of her shoulder. Mi Rong's body flew back slightly due to the force of her sword but was quick to stable herself.

"Mi Rong!" Her name was called from different directions.

Mi Rong raised her good arm to hold onto her bad shoulder to check it. She bit her bottom lip in pain which has caused her lips to become even redder.

Her dark eyes swept up bitterly as she looked at the pair. Seeing them together had truly beaten her in her soft spot. Nevertheless, she tried pulling herself together and push back her tears.

"Mi Rong," Jun Kai stepped forward towards her full of worry.

She stood there in her spot as she watched him walk closer to her. The very sword that she had given to him was used upon her. The Long cuff sword...he used it to protect that creature.

Ha! How pathetic she thought that she was so important. She could even win over a half-dead person!

Mi Rong's eyes explored Jun Kai's handsome face. He was truly handsome tonight. However, had he even loved her? Maybe he did, but she was just second, second to her. Mi Rong's looked from Jun Kai to Fei Ling who looked like she wanted to laugh at her.

Finally, she looked up tiredly. She was so tired.

On Mi Rong's wrist, a green jade was slightly revealed and was slowly beginning to illuminate. No one seemed to have realised except Xiao Bai who could recognise it from the beginning. The great white wolf tried calling her through telepathy, but it was in vain. He did not wait and longer and leapt towards Mi Rong.

Slowly, Mi Rong took one last look at Jun Kai who was approaching closer. She finally made up her mind and spoke her last words softly, "We're over." Right then, the green jade was now shining brightly, so brightly that everyone could see it.

Everyone had different reactions to it and Li Ye's heart had skipped a beat. This jade, it belonged to someone he knew well.

Then, just as Jun Kai was about to pull Mi Rong in his arms, a great bright blast came out from Mi Rong's body and Xiao Bai had leapt inside the blast without thinking twice.

A strong gust of wind was let out in the entire circle along with a great bright light that was so bright everyone had to close their eyes.

When the blast had gone, the wind had settled and slowly everyone began opening their eyes. Jun Kai began adjusting his eyes and not long he could see what was in front of him, no, what was not in front of him.

Where Mi Rong was supposed to be, she was gone together with Xiao Bai.

No!

His heart panicked on the thought of losing her. For the first time, fear was creeping in his heart. Where, where did she go!? Having lost her was when he knew how important she was.

Moreover, he finally realized her weight in his heart. Was she gone? He felt the same kind of feeling as to when he knew his wife had died. However, this was even more painful, 10,000 times more painful. He could truly not describe the pain in his heart.

Meanwhile, the rest had different reactions. Xue Li felt relieved seeing Mi Rong gone and Fei Ling was very much satisfied. However, Li Ye's eyes were cold. He knew what exactly had happened. It was definitely, Yue Lin's doing. However, wasn't she supposed to be locked in that mountain!? That familiar scent of powers certainly belonged to Yue Lin's.

Nevertheless, he slowly swept at Jun Kai who looked as if his heart had broken into pieces. Hmm, maybe he should tell this boy something as to open his eyes.

"Aya, Jun Kai. You truly choose to be a hero at the wrong time and for the wrong person, tut tut." The clad in purple walked closer towards Jun Kai little by little.

Jun Kai shifted his eyes frostily towards the clad in purple. His hand was holding onto his sword tightly as looked at the clad in purple.

Meanwhile, Fei Ling who had been watching from beside could not help but feel nervous. Now that Mi Rong was no longer here, her temper seemed to have cooled down, hence she was finally in her right mind. Full of concern for Jun Kai, she tried to stop the clad in purple from getting closer towards him, "Li Ye, please, let's wrap this up." This time she pleaded nicely; an entire contrast from how she was from before when she had been fuming at Mi Rong for her grievances.

With that, Fei Ling had earned herself a burning glare from Li Ye. All she could do was bit her lips in frustration.

The clad in purple sneered, "Fei Ling ah, you had your chance to listen to me, but did you? Now, it's my turn." He then turned his attention back to Jun Kai and continued, "And you, young master Feng...let me tell you something about your precious wife of yours. She was nothing but a spy my boy. I sent her to you since the very beginning, no, to be more exact, I sent her entire family to your family."

Jun Kai eyes grew wide. He turned to look at Fei Ling in disbelief but all he saw was her looking away from him. How? Why? ...So many questions were bothering Jun Kai at the same time.

Li Ye chuckled, "Surprised? Well, wasn't it so easy for you to fall in love with her, hm? Haha, aya, I think I must have taken part in that as well, I made her give you a love potion, just like how I did to your father, but unlike your father who had been receiving the dosage daily; yours has worn out by time. Then, Xue Li over there had been so clear-minded, even more than you were and had exposed it to you. However, you would not have remembered it would you? That was because your mind was wept out on that night and I came just in time to bring Xue Li to my side."

Xue Li felt her strength leave from her body. She was forced to team up with this man or else she would not have kept her life. However, now Jun Kai would only despise her. In her own small world, Xue Li was only able to see in very short distance and might not have realised that Jun Kai had known all along.

On the other hand, Li Ye continued, "Although I could get rid of that memory of yours, but it seemed I was unable to get rid of that natural instinct of yours. After that incident, you began to become more suspicious about everything, as if you knew everything was a lie deep down in your heart."

"No!" Fei Ling interrupted almost immediately, "It was not a lie! My relationship with him was not a lie!"

Li Ye showed some fake empathy through his eyes towards Fei Ling, "Oh stop that, you know it better than me Fei Ling if it was real or not. If your grandfather and your parents had not hid Mi Rong away from me, then she would have been Jun Kai's pair. You had always thought that your grandfather wanted Mi Rong dead, didn't you? Well, that was just me blowing some of my stories into your ears so that you would be useful to me. If it weren't for that old man trying to hide Mi Rong away from him and if it weren't for the fates making him think she was dead, Mi Rong would have been in your place, not you."

"Liar! You should just die!" Fei Ling dashed forward towards the clad in purple but was only thrown back by an invisible force of power. She landed not further away from Xue Li and had her arms and leg placed in the wrong way, but she showed no signs of pain, only anger in her inhuman eyes.

"Now, where was I? Ah, you, Jun Kai. So, in the end, you did find out about it again; it was on the day of that accident. It was the full moon cycle just like today and I knew that the heaven's task was finally to be bestowed to the chosen one. I had thought that Fei Ling was the chosen since there were no longer any granddaughters left in the Shen family, so I had to kill her before the task was given to her. However, little did I know that the Shen family still had another granddaughter and that was none other than Mi Rong."

"Did you have enough of your stories?" Jun Kai simply spoke indifferently.

"Oh, but I'm not quite done yet. Haven't you always wanted to know who I am?" Li Ye's eyes glistered as he was getting to the point where he was looking forward to the most.

Slowly, he pulled the purple cloth covering his face. Bit by bit, the mask was slowly taken away and revealed the face that had been beneath it all along.
