Chapter 190: 190

The soft carpet floor was stepped by my shoes. People were walking past me in the hallway of that apartment building. The hallway of that apartment building was large and was decorated with plants and red carpet.

There was pop music playing from the speakers of that hallway. The song was taken from a local radio station which played pop and jazz song 24/7. The room in which Julian was located was on the very edge of that apartment building. It would take some time to arrive at that location. The people that I was looking for was anyone that looked Mexican and those who might be his guard.

I didn't wear any face concealment. I only wore that tactical jacket and cargo pants. I didn't carry any weapon either since it could be dangerous if the security team of the entire building hunted me down. It was definitely not in my plans.

As I walked into the hallway, I noticed that there were some suspicious people. Most of them were wearing t-shirts and jeans. Those people had tattoos on their faces and those tattoos were covering like 80% of their faces. Those people were scary, and they were most likely to be the sicarios.

I walked past them as if they didn't exist, but their preference simply couldn't be ignored. The smell of their armpits was filling the hallway and I could put my hands in front of my nose if not for the fact that I had been through something worse.

Suddenly, one of them stepped from their standing point. One of those tattooed people was walking in my direction without any apparent reason. My feet shook wildly and cold sweats starting pouring down my face. That person walked closer and closer to me.

The person finally stood right in my left. He looked at me. Damn, he was scary, especially his tattoos. He walked passed by me, it was a false alarm, but I saw that he concealed a pistol right inside of his jeans. It might be likely for most of them to carry weaponry, but I hadn't seen anyone who was holding an AK or an automatic weapon.

As I walked, I saw my target of kidnapping. Julian was getting out of his room with two of his bodyguards. However, even an idiot would have known that kidnapping that person in this situation was an idiotic idea. One would never know that one of them was carrying a weapon more dangerous than a pistol.

However, My curious mind said otherwise. I followed that man from behind as the guards were keeping a close distance to the target. They were special, their skill was far from ordinary thugs. It was likely that the bodyguards used to be a real security guard or soldier at the very least. If they were special forces, I would not be able to survive since they were one of the most dangerous things a contractor could encounter.

Those security guards didn't have any trigger discipline, he was putting his finger right at the trigger and could potentially harm any bystanders if they weren't careful. The elevator door opened and Julian entered that door.

I walked to that door and I immediately got stopped by those security guards. They looked at me and asked what my intention was and what my objective was. I answered them honestly that I wanted to meet with Julian, but he wasn't in his room.

The security guards didn't buy into that lie. They told me to go into the lift that I used to get to the 18th floor. There was no choice, a gunfight would be the worst option at this point. I returned for the elevator located in the other corner of that apartment. I sighed and walked back to the hallway that was full of thugs.

Wednesday, 11th of April 2018. My Room, Bunker. 1200 Hours.

I got the blueprint of that building after a further scan of that server that the contractors owned. The lift which Julian used to escape my eyes was leading to the private parking garage in the basement. It was a good thing for Julian, but not a good thing for me since it could be the easiest escape route for him. I would need another person to take care of Julian.

Sierra would be the perfect person to blockade the lift with his hacking ability. He would be accompanied by Echo to strike that underground private car park with silenced weaponry in the middle of the night. Aline and I would strike the other side of the apartment. There was no possibility for Aline and me to do a stealthy operation since the public parking lot was heavily guarded.

There was another option that was using the emergency stairs to the 18th floor. That was the only choice, but it would be exhausting. I hope that Sierra could hack the camera so we could bypass them and used the elevator. The guards were most likely to be armed with sharp weaponry or pistols. It would be very rare to see one using automatic weaponry except for the professional security guards in that apartment.

The plan was to kidnap Julian and gave him to the Algojo. Aline said that he was a good information extractor from any source whether it was alive or not. It could be said that this person whose codename was Algojo was always watching us. This person was the one who got all of the intelligence that was stored inside the server.

I turned off the computer and picked up my SCAR-H. I wanted to try the shooting range in the bunker. It might be a good idea for me to train my shooting skill. I opened the door of my room and went to the shooting range that was located on the side of the laundry room.

I walked inside of that shooting room and noticed that the shooting room was a combination of two courses. One was for target practice with many target dummies in the range which had to be shot to gain any score.

The other was a kill house with many different obstacles. The targets would be moving and had to be shot before the time was registered. In other words, the one was for target practice in a long-range while the other was for mobile shooting. I took the static one first since I didn't want to break a sweat.

I put a new 7.62mm bullet magazine inside of the magazine well. I pulled the charging handle of my SCAR-H and aimed it at the first target. The moment I pulled the trigger, the timer started to count my time of shooting those target dummies. I pulled the trigger many times as the target kept reappearing on the range.

The target could be easily hit thanks to my [Focus] ability that managed to slow the time down. However, there were more than thirty targets per test and I have to reload my rifle. I throw away the old magazine and used a new one.

I kept shooting the target until the last target was hit. I finally got my score. The score was sixty seconds. The performance was above Aline, but slightly below Sierra. Well, it wasn't something to be proud of since neither Aline nor Sierra would be active in combat. Those two were most likely to be hiding somewhere as a support unit.

I wanted to try the kill house, but my stomach said otherwise. My belly was empty and it needed to be filled. I immediately left the shooting range and headed for the cafeteria where Aline had cooked lunch for both of them. The lunch was a simple sandwich with leftover meat from last night's dinner.

The sandwich was good, as expected from our medic. Well, I didn't know that she was quite multi-talented until now. "So, Lynn, what will you do tonight?" Aline asked.

"Maybe I'll just walk around tonight. I don't have any mood to do any contract," I answered as I ate that sandwich.

"You know Lynn. If not for the fact that you used to be a snitch, you would not meet us nor having this kind of problem. Tell me something, do you have any regret in joining us?" She asked.

"Nope, I don't have any regret. But still, I don't know whether I can stay as a good guy or not. A snitch was bad, but a murderer like me doesn't deserve justice. What I did wasn't justice, it was all about revenge," I answered.

Aline just blinked twice. She understood that and she picked up the dishes and went back to the kitchen. Meanwhile, I came back to my room to identify more intel that was given by Sierra from the other day.
