Clara was walking around the military base. She wondered whether she would be deployed on not. Patrick and Lynn were still asleep, only God knew what they did last night since Clara was sleeping when they did this and that.

The lower deck was still hollow. There wasn't any room inside of that lower deck. Clara wasn't doing anything either. She was training on his bomb disarming skills. To be exact, she was training so she became more mobile inside of the juggernaut suit that she always wore when she defused a bomb.

Clara was jobless at that time. She spent most of her time either researching the type of mines or training to be more agile in her bomb suit. Clara was the main explosive ordinance disposal unit of the whole contractor's private military contractor that only had less than one hundred members at that point.

The tankers aka Hitman team was busy recruiting new members from the various conflict zone. It was no wonder if there were many new people on the base. Those people were either Africaans or Pashtun since they gathered their soldiers from the region. Nathan's decision was to make sure that he had diverse personnel in his private military company.

However, the security contractor hadn't had any new job yet. Most of their jobs right now were made by the contractors themselves for their personal objectives. In short, the mission was either about the cartel or about the terrorist in the middle east. Those two main organizations were the ones that the contractors had the most grudge after all.

As Clara walked in the base, Nathan approached her. He held a rugged tablet in his hands. He wanted to give Clara a new mission. "Clara, I have a new job for you." Nathan showed his tablet to her. The tablet showed Clara the location of the mission. The mission was simple, mine disarming mission. In short, Clara needed to clear out a minefield.

"Hmm, are they lacking in an anti-mine vehicle?" Clara asked Nathan.

"No, but this area is quite a heavy conflict zone. In short, the vehicle wouldn't be able to enter that area. This is located deep inside Libya. Yes, Libya seemed to be quite a hot zone nowadays." He zoomed inside of the map. It was located in the border area with Egypt. "You'll be dropped from a Galaxy, good luck."

It meant that she would jump into the hot zone with a parachute through a HALO jump. It would be quite a dangerous trip since the job provider didn't give her the exact details on what kind of bomb it was. The bomb would be very dangerous since it could be a bomb for disabling the tanks.

"I see. I won't use my bomb suit then, a bomb suit can't protect me from anti-tank mine after all." Clara took off her juggernaut suit. She was sweating inside of the suit. Her face was full of sweat and so did her clothes.

Clara walked to the cargo door of the C-5 and the cargo door closed. All Clara could see at that cargo section were palettes of weaponry and vehicles. There was one Humvee on the back of the plane. There was also a container that was marked as hers. Clara approached that container and she opened it.

The content of those containers was filled with bomb suits and many bombs defusing equipment. However, the thing that Clara took was the robot and the tools such as screwdriver and pliers. Those two were quite crucial to disable the mines. Those mines are usually Soviet-made and could easily be defused by the contractors. However, Clara could disable it fairly quickly and faster than the other contractors.

Clara sat down at the seat that was placed on the wall on the C-5 itself. The C-5 was lifted to the upper deck. The weather was quite unfriendly since it was raining with quite a bit of thunder. Aveline was on the upper deck, she wore a raincoat that protected her from the elements.

Aveline: "You're clear to take off."

Thursday, 27th of June 2021. Sky of Libya. 1200 Hours.

The wind hit her face as she jumped out of the plane. The plane was flying towards Egypt while Clara jumped with the parachute on her back and the tools in another backpack in her front.

The sun was scorching, but the air of the altitude was very cold. It was very cold that the side of his tactical goggles froze up. The altitude meter on his hand showed that it was still too high to open the parachute. She needed to wait for quite a while until she would be able to open her parachute.

The parachute was opened once she reached the altitude of hundreds of meters. She jumped towards the area that seemed to be untouched since she didn't want to be thrown off from the ground because she accidentally stepped on a mine because of her idiotic action.

She landed on the desert which was located quite far enough from the minefield itself. It was located in the barren desert which had no civilization from afar. This no-man's-land used to be used by the mechanical units to cross due to the lack of patrols in this area. However, the minefield made sure that no tanks would be able to cross in that no man's land.

Clara started walking to the minefield with her tablet in her hands. That tablet was equipped with a metal detector that used ultrasonic waves to detect any out of ordinary items inside of the ground. The supersonic sensor also showed Clara the basic layout of the ground that she would step it. There was a mine that needed to be disarmed by her. The mine was an anti-tank mine. She didn't have to worry that the mine would turn on because she stepped on it.

At this point, she didn't have to worry about it, but if she accidentally pressed the wrong button, the bomb would explode and killed her since she didn't have any resistance to the mine blast. Well, not that she would die, she just didn't want to try exploring the mine.

Clara walked to that mine slowly with a screwdriver on her mouth, and a plier on her left hand. He prone on the ground and she crawled to that mine. She opened the cover of the mine with a screwdriver and she looked for the detonator of the mine. The circuitry was located on the cover of the landmine and she only needed to cut the right wires.

Clara cut all of the wires at once since it was the right method to disarm that particular type of mine. If she only cut one wire, a timer would start and she only had two seconds until the bomb exploded. 'One has done. Forty more to go.'

Yeah, there were approximately forty mines inside of that minefield. The minefield was filled with mines with various types from an IED to a regular mine. Clara analyzed the layout of the minefield. It seemed to be that if one mine exploded, it would create a chain effect.

The minefield was designed to destroy the whole battalion of enemy armored infantry in one go. Clara questioned the effectiveness of those methods, but the main purpose seemed to be to make sure that nobody could disable the minefield.

If not for the job requirements, she would shoot all of the mines and let it exploded since it would be easier and faster since the mines were highly explosive. The highly explosive mine could easily be disabled with a gunshot, but she didn't bring any gun either since the mission didn't require her to bring any gun.

There were several tanks inside the minefield. Those tanks were filled with the destroyed tanks with variety from both the western block and the eastern block. The Soviet tanks dominated the minefield, however, all of them were either destroyed or scorched since it hit the mines.

There were several dead bodies of the soldier inside of the minefield. Those tanks were involved in the Libyan civil war. The Libyan civil war was very violent after all with many parties involved inside of that war. Clara asked herself whether this would be the last day on Earth or not. It would be very bad if she died after surviving one anti-tank missile.

Clara continued walking in the minefield. She kept her eyes on the tablet since it was her biggest life safer at that point. It would be bad if the tablet died at this point.
