Tonk walked down the stairs to the dim cabin, where there was a musty smell in addition to the sea smell. Oil lamps hung from the top of the cabin, emitting a greasy light, and moths lay lazily on the lampshades. He went around the cargo hold and the galley and found a bottle of wine, a few pieces of cured meat, and a large loaf of bread.

The bomb-spitting frog in the cell was even more haggard, as thin as a deflated balloon with a dry tongue drooping around his mouth. As soon as the big protruding eyes saw Tonk, he immediately greeted him and grabbed the railing with webbed claws.

"Dear Captain, please forgive my previous offense!"

Tonk stared at the big toad for a while, and then he said, "Have you figured it out?"

"Yes, I'm willing to answer all your questions, and I'm willing to serve you in exchange for a chance for my life." It could see that Tonk didn't have time to listen to its apology, but cared about more important issues. It smacked its lips, stared straight at the food in Tonk's hand, and begged, "Could you give me that food?"

Tonk agreed and stuffed the dinner plate through the gap under the railing. The ground was full of mud and dirt.

The bomb-spitting frog didn't care anymore, and rushed towards the food, grabbed the bread and devoured it, pulled out the cork of the wine, and gulped several mouthfuls.

Tonk watched from the side and he had nothing to do, so it threw an investigation technique at the big toad.

Name:

Troubler
Species: Bomb-spitting Frog
Physical Attack:
Ranged Attack:

There was not much information, only a name. This guy called troublemaker was a bit less attack power than his peers, probably because he's hungry these days.

Seeing that it was almost eaten, Tonk began to ask what he wanted to know. Of course, if the troublemaker lies about military intelligence or doesn't cooperate, he doesn't mind letting it continue to starve.

"Troubler, I want to know why you bomb-spitting frogs serve the Black Toad Pirates."

It was frightened and trembled: "You... how do you know my name?"

"It's I that am asking you questions, not you."

Its eyes drooped, and it lowered its head and said, "Yes, I understand. I won't ask you any more questions. In fact, we bomb-spitting frogs originally lived on Pebble Island, but you prefer to call it Toad Island. There is no competition, and we have been living peacefully on the island. We did not serve any power. But the frog boss wrote a contract with Harold Haysen, and the bomb-spitting frog on the island will serve him for ten years."

"Harold Haysen," Tonk repeated the name. Although he had not met, he could feel the chills emanating from this enemy. "Have you seen him? Is there anything special about him?"

"I've only seen it from a distance once, I'm new here on this boat. Harold was on a different boat, and it was a lot bigger. When I saw him, he was in Punishing a sailor who made a mistake, he skinned the sailor. Even I felt disgusted. As for the special... I felt that he was a particularly vicious person. I can't remember the rest."

Tonk frowned slightly, also feeling that Harold was a bit psychopathic. To deal with such an enemy, he must cut the weeds and dig up the roots. Otherwise, he must be a serious problem to Tonk.

"Who is the boss you're talking about? Is it your king?" he asked again.

"Yes, it is the king of Toad Island, and we all obey its commands."

"Why did the frog boss make a contract with Harold? Aren't you indifferent to the world?"

"Because of a fish. Harold gave the frog boss a golden fish. That kind of fish is called the golden doll. Boss agreed to sign a contract after he ate the fish. In the past ten years, bomb-spitting frogs have to serve the Black Toad Pirates for free." The troublemaker's expression darkened, and he recalled the sea life of his fellows over the years.

"Just for a fish? You toads are really cheap." Tonk mocked without mercy.

It didn't feel anything ashamed, but asked: "That's the famous golden doll, haven't you heard of it?"

Having said that, Tonk guessed that this fish should be unusual, and asked curiously, "Could it be that eating that fish can strengthen your sex?"

It was stunned for a moment that didn't expect Tonk's thinking to be so outrageous. It shook his head and said: "It seems that you really haven't heard of it. The golden doll is the most famous ingredient in the sea. It is useless by itself, but the taste of fish is extremely delicious, and it exudes an irresistible temptation. Even the king of a country is difficult to eat."

As soon as Tonk heard that it was just delicious, he lost interest like a cold water topping.

"Anyway, all the toads on one of your islands have signed a sales contract and have to work for Harold for ten years in vain just for the sake of a fish. Is that so?"

"Yes." Troubler lowered his head again.

"Then how many years have you worked?"

"It's been nine years."

"Then there's only one year left before you can be free?"

"yes."

"One year, it's not too long but also not too short." Tonk considered whether to avoid the edge for a while. When the contract expired after a year, Harold would not have the help of the bomb-spitting frog. He would be much easier to deal with it. And his Evil Dragon Pirates would also grow in a year.

"By the way, why are you locked up here?"

"Nothing..." Troubler hesitated when it encountered this question.

"Your name is Troubler. It can't help but make people think." Tonk squinted at it.

The troubler had no choice but to reveal everything and told some of his own deeds. It turned out that it used to be just like its name and liked to make trouble everywhere. It didn't matter on Toad Island, but after it was arranged on Kedar's ship, it was locked in a cell for half a year because of a few troubles.

"Okay, okay, I basically know what you are. Then do you want to go out? If you want, be a gunner on this ship. But I said in advance that if you don't behave well, I will let you taste this again." Tonk said bluntly.

"The great Captain Tonk, the troubler will serve you wholeheartedly." It gave a nondescript gentleman's salute. In order to fill its stomach, it could only promise to serve the enemy.

Tonk nodded, hiring such a bomb-spitting frog would cost a lot of points. The troubler was free.

Tonk laughed. This loyalty is really pitifully low, but he didn't care. Anyway, a frog that spits bombs wouldn't be able to cause any big trouble. Although he promised to take the troubler as his subordinate, he did not let it out of the cell and only promised to provide food. Even if the bomb-spitting frog is allowed to fight on the deck, iron cuffs and shackles will be added to prevent it from jumping into the sea and escaping.

Tonk didn't expect that his first crew member was a big toad, and his loyalty was so low. He returned to the upper deck. The sound of the turbulent waves was like the breath of a dragon, and the hull was shaking like a cradle. He took a deep breath and exhaled the stench from the cabin, feeling a lot more comfortable and refreshed.

"Look, there's a sea monster on the sea! Three hundred yards to the southeast."

The lookout shouted from above, some sailors ran to join in the fun, and some didn't care. Strange creatures were often seen at sea. Some of the people who joined in the fun were lying on the side of the boat to watch, while others climbed up the mast vigorously and stood on the boom to watch.

Tonk picked up a monocular, which was his trophy. He stretched out the telescope one by one and put his eyes stuck to the narrower end of the telescope, which gave him a panoramic view of the sea beast raging on the sea. It looked like a seahorse, with a mane on its neck. It is big enough to despise sharks in the sea, and its teeth are like daggers.

He put down the binoculars and waved: "Go and bring up that bomb-spitting frog, remember with iron chains, and bring a box of shells. Helmsman, turn the direction and get close to the monster."

The sailors left in response. After a while, Troubler stood beside the pirate captain with a gloomy face and thinking in his heart that there was nothing good.

"How about it, can you kill it?" Tonk said, pointing to the clear-cut monster on the sea.

"I will try it. I haven't eaten for a few days, and I'm tired now, so I might not be able to hit very far." Troubler didn't dare to delay, it rolled its sticky tongue and swallowed the heavy shell into his mouth. Holding back strength, aiming at the sea beast and shooting out. With a parabolic trajectory, the shell fell into the sea.

The sea beast was enraged by the splashing waves, and swam over with its head and tail, screaming.

"If you miss all shots, I'll let someone stew you. Someone on this ship will definitely dare to eat you." Tonk calmly threatened without even looking at Troubler.

Troubler broke out in a cold sweat. He knew too well the ruthlessness of these pirates. Death hangs above its head like a sharp blade, and it speeds up its firing frequency. After firing five shots in succession, it finally succeeds in hitting the sea beast. One shot severely injured the sea beast, and the sea was covered in blood red.

Tonk ordered to shoot, he also picked up a gun, and the bullets fired turned into a black line, killing the sea beast.
