In an abandoned hut by the sea, the lonely afterglow of the evening shone in, and the house has dyed a layer of orange-red. Tonk sat by the boxy window with one leg dangling below, gnawing on the greasy chicken thigh in one hand, and holding a half-drinking wine bottle in the other.

This was the agreed meeting place. It was far away from the prison. Tonk and the pirate who drove the carriage were the first to return. After listening to Tonk's narration, the pirates were very depressed and leaned against the wall without saying a word.

Tonk heard footsteps when he gnawed the chicken leg in half. He looked at the door. and the door was slammed open. One-eyed and the others walked in with gloomy faces. One person was wounded in the abdomen, covered in blood, and was dying.

"What's going on in the prison? What about Captain Cam?" One-eyed asked anxiously as soon as he entered the door. The injured pirate also waited for the answer with concern as if he cared more about the captain than himself.

Tonk said lightly: "He is not in prison, and I don't know where he is being held. I thought about it, there are only two ways for you to save him. One is to arrest a high-ranking official tonight and interrogate him to find out where Cam is imprisoned. The second is to wait until tomorrow to rob the execution ground. They have to bring Cam out when they behead him, right?"

When One-eyed and others heard that this was the case, their expressions became even sadder.

"What can we do?" One of the pirates sat on the ground in despair.

"I bought some food for you. Have something to eat first." Tonk pointed to the food piled under the wall. Seeing that none of the pirates wanted to eat, he asked, "What's the matter, you guys? I killed in and out of the enemy's army and was still fine, but the few of you who were in ambush were injured like this. Huh? It seems that one person is missing, he dead?"

One-eyed nodded and said, "One died. We ran into the navy when we fled. Someone recognized me and was chased badly. A brother blocked a bullet for me."

Tonk smiled bitterly and said, "Then what are you going to do next?"

He felt that the situation was not good, and lamented that 1500 reward points were a bit difficult to get. However, after thinking about it, these people would become unemployed if Cam was executed. Just right to recruit to the Black Pearl. Especially One-eyed, whose strength was quite good.

One-eyed and a few people were silent. Obviously, there was no other way. There was no friendship between Tonk and Cam. He had no need to care whether Cam lived or died. Later, One Eye patted his thigh and said that he could save the captain only when he was full, and these people reluctantly ate.

After they finished eating, they began to discuss how to rescue the captain. After thinking about it, they finally decided to start on the day of the execution. One-eyed was responsible for being a sniper near the execution ground. Tonk volunteered to be a sniper too. The rest of the people were responsible for saving Cam. They had smoke bombs in their hands, which can disrupt the scene.

Of course, the 500-yard range of a flintlock gun was not enough to give birth to the profession of a sniper. This was just an expression.

Tonk intended to act accordingly. If there was really no hope, he would stop in time. If it was 30% sure, he would help.

Pirates were the most active criminal group in the Age of Navigation. The mention of pirates by the imperial nobles made their brains hurt. The empire had a deep hatred for pirates. Many royal merchant ships had been looted by pirates, which often caused the empire to suffer huge losses.

The five major empires punished pirates extremely severely. If the leader of the pirate was caught, they would often be sentenced to capital punishment, and this capital punishment was also varied.

The day of execution.

The execution ground in Port Carlin had long been prepared for Cam. There was a door on the five-yard-high wooden platform with a trap in the middle. Once the trap was opened, the condemned prisoner would fall.

What greeted the criminal was the blood mouth of the chomper.

The use of chomper to devour death-row prisoners was a major feature of the executions at Carlin Port. There were even more amazing execution methods in other ports, which were different from each other.

The execution time was set at noon.

The purpose of public execution was to punish someone to show others. The commoners would throw some rotten eggs on the pirates and let the merchants who had been robbed by the pirates relieve their hatred so that the merchants would be willing to pay taxes.

This execution ground easily accommodated two thousand onlookers, and the number was still increasing. The neatly lined navy kept the crowd at the periphery, each with a grim face.

Several naval officers sat on the high stands, looking down at the execution ground. They talked about something calmly, sometimes laughing, and didn't take this execution to heart at all, exuding the confidence of a high-ranking person.

The prisoner wearing a black hood was brought up. His healthy body was full of scars. There were not many good spots on his body. He was wearing heavy handcuffs and shackles, and the skin that often rubbed against the metal had been ripped apart.

Pushed by the executioner, the prisoner knelt on the execution platform.

The black hood was taken off, revealing a resolute face.

"Captain Cam!" On the roof of a three-story residential building in the distance, One-eyed couldn't help shouting out after seeing this scene.

Tonk hurriedly covered his stinky mouth. The two of them were now hiding behind the drying rack, covered by the fastened sheets.

"Damn, I really want to save the captain right away."

"Don't act rashly. You have to wait until the number of onlookers is larger. Then we will set fires around to mess up the scene, so it will be easier to start."

Tonk came up with this bad idea.

Tonk glanced at the execution ground. There were about 100 navies maintaining order on the field. Not too many.

"Get out of the way! Get out of the way!" A group of arrogant people forced their way in, causing great dissatisfaction from the crowd. Among them was a brightly dressed businessman, who was acerbic and had a black mole the size of a bean on the right side of his nose.

The businessman walked towards the execution platform with high spirits, and his men behind him carried two baskets of eggs for him.

Someone in the crowd recognized him and muttered, "It's that treacherous medical businessman Nahum. How come he's here."

"Hmph, it's this bastard. If he hadn't set the price of the medicine so expensive, my brother wouldn't have died of illness."

"Yes, I would prefer that he be held on the execution platform!"

When Nahum heard people talking, his heart aroused. He glared at the people who were talking. Surrounded by the navy, he didn't dare to make trouble. He could only write down the faces of those few people and plan to clean them up later. In Port Carlin, he was also powerful and influential.

Nahum nodded to the executioner on the stage, and the other party responded indifferently. The two had a deal before, and today Nahum was allowed to say a few words in front of the stage.

"Cam, you robbed me of two ships before. I lost at least five thousand gold coins. This account should be settled today." Nahum said viciously.

"So what? Maybe in the next life, I'm still a pirate, you're still a businessman, and I can still rob your ship." Cam said weakly. Although he hadn't been executed yet, he only had a breath left.

Nahum's expression changed. The five thousand gold coins made him very distressed. He must vent this anger.

"Throw!"

With an order, his subordinates started throwing eggs at the stage. Cam soon came to a mess. The egg skin hung on his nose, and the egg yolk wet his hair. The executioner stood back silently and watched the scene in front of him.

One-eyed saw this scene in his eyes, and his lungs exploded with anger. He turned around and said to Tonk, "I must find this person to settle accounts in the future!"

Tonk nodded and didn't answer the question. He had been sharpening his gun since just now, looking for the feeling of a sniper.

Nahum's men threw away both baskets of eggs and stopped. Cam was like taking a bath with egg soup. He lowered his head with his face buried in the shadows that couldn't see his look clearly. Seeing Cam being humiliated like this, Nahum smiled contentedly.

"If every time I kill someone, you throw me with an egg, then these eggs are not enough. These eggs are only one-tenth." Cam said lightly.

Nahum regretted the lack of eggs. But when he thought that Cam was about to be executed, his mood rose again. He took people away. There was always a group of passers-by pointing behind him.

The executioner said in a low voice, "You murderous devil, what is there to be proud of at this stage?"

"I've never been proud of myself for killing a lot of people. The only ones who can really make me proud are the brothers on the boat."

"It's ridiculous! Don't forget, you yourself were betrayed by your brother." The executioner sneered.

"Hawkeye's betrayal definitely hurts me more than today's death sentence. I have only one regret in my life. If Hawkeye asked me for the Purgatory directly, I would give it to him. Even if there is only a wooden boat, I can also be a pirate. For me, Purgatory is definitely not as important as a brother. But he chose to betray me and used this method of selling his soul to get the Purgatory."

Cam said heartily.

Seeing Cam in such pain, the corner of the executioner's mouth showed an imperceptible smile.

"Someone sneaked into the prison yesterday and wanted to save you. We killed one and the rest escaped. Your relationship is so good, they might come to save you today." The executioner lowered his head and whispered to Cam. Said, "But they will be done if they dare to appear. The navy has set up an ambush around it. There are five hundred soldiers, and Viscount Michael is sitting there."

Cam's face changed dramatically, he raised his head and asked, "Who was killed by you!?"

When the executioner described the general appearance of the deceased, Cam let out a heart-piercing whimper.
