Chapter 367: The strongest

Aisha and Miriam had been able to retreat, leaving Shane alone as the explosion occurred.

It was only a minute later that they had been able to pull away from the debris before they found Shane, who had been half lodged into the solid ground with small cracks appearing around the hole he had created.

He was unmoving and the young women rushed towards him, trying to figure out whether he was unconscious, or if something worse had happened.

Fortunately, that didn't seem to have happened, as they heard him mumble.

"That was crazy...fortunately I didn't stop transferring mana inside my mana membrane...."

Shane felt as if he wouldn't be able to move for a few minutes, if not an hour because the toll his mana veins had to take in order to prevent his death, had been pretty intense.

However, when Aisha and Miriam appeared next to him, he just smiled drily,

"I guess you will enter my guild now, right?"

Miriam knew that his words were directed towards her. As such, she nodded her head before bending down.

Several potions appeared next to her on the ground, and she picked up one after another before she grasped his head to force his mouth open and empty the potions into it.

Aisha, who saw this from the sidelines squinted her eyes before storing away the potions in her hands.

Miriam's moves looked rough, but Aisha could see that her friend was sincerely trying to help Shane.

She had never seen Miriam acting like that, and Aisha could only shake her head because of the messed-up situation.

Like Miriam, Aisha bent down too, staring worriedly at Shane who looked as if he had won a big lottery.

"Are you that happy to have almost died, only to get Miriam to enter the Starlight guild? She is perfectly fine while you look...well...burned obviously…"

However, Shane saw the entire situation differently than Aisha. She seemed to be displeased about something, but instead of minding this, he tried to lift himself up from the ground.

The potions Miriam had given him were extremely potent, allowing his mana veins to stop hurting and calm down. His pain was slowly diminishing and a cooling sensation had spread through his body.

Miriam seemed to be doing well, and one could even say that her body had been reborn as her entire being was glowing in a faint but vigorous red hue.

Even her hair had changed a little bit, turning into a more crimson red color. This caused Shane to assume that the Phoenix domain had caused her Phoenix fire Innate affinity to do something unexpected, something that allowed Miriam to become stronger, and more affine to the Phoenix flame.

"Of course I'm happy! I can make Miriam the guildmaster, which will increase everyone's morale, the entire guild's combat strength, and reputation.

Who wouldn't want the strongest human prodigy of the youngest generation in the guild! Just imagine how promising the guild's future will be!"

Aisha hadn't expected this answer, and even Miriam couldn't help but frown. She let go of his head that hit the ground a little forcefully before standing up.

Meanwhile, Aisha began to laugh.

Looking at Miriam, she couldn't help but tease.

"From the strongest prodigy you've been demoted to a mascot!! Not bad!"

Miriam lifted her arm threateningly, but instead of hurling an angry retort, she couldn't help but smile too.

Aisha might seem strong, but she was just an ordinary girl. Not many might know about this, but Aisha's Valkyrie unit had to face many problems inside the radiant mountain ring dimensions during the last few months.

The problems were slowly starting to pile up inside that dimension owing to the Calamity class dungeon. The Dark Ice elves' subsidiary race's alliance was also starting to misbehave.

It was only due to the RadiantRing shelter that mankind's foothold inside the dimension was still strong.

Because of that, Miriam was glad that Aisha was able to laugh freely again. Miriam had also noticed that Aisha had taken some time off, only to meet Shane, which was the same as she had done herself.

In the end, she hadn't thought much about that and had just wanted to meet Shane because everything about him seemed to be interesting.

However, after giving it another thought, Miriam noticed that she was behaving differently with Shane, compared to other men or rather anyone else but Aisha.

Being able to stand once again, Shane stretched his body as much as possible before taking a deep breath.

"It would be best if you meet everyone as soon as possible. I'll transfer the guildmaster's rights to you, and Talia or her secretaries will give you a brief about your tasks.

There are not many, and the most important would probably be disciplining the newcomers.

By the way, during the next few months, there should be a few thousand new guild members. Don't feel overwhelmed, I'm just preparing for the worst-case scenario!"

Miriam hadn't listened to Shane earlier and realized only now that he wanted her to become the guildmaster of the starlight guild.

This was not exactly unexpected because it was the best Shane could do right now. Officially, she was still the strongest human prodigy of the youngest generation.

Miriam had noticed that Shane had still held back his strength.

If he had wanted to, the weird Scimitar of his could have been enhanced further, but as a consequence, this would have destroyed the entire building!

In order to avoid this, Shane had almost perfectly adjusted the amount of mana he had supplied.

Miriam assumed that Aisha had perceived the same. As such, only those two knew that Shane was stronger than Miriam, which meant that he was the strongest human of the youngest generation!

This irked the young women, and they couldn't help but wonder if Shane was planning to announce his victory over Miriam.

In fact, he hadn't won, but his victory was evident. Both Aisha and Miriam assumed that Shane had a greater plan to achieve something.

Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to prepare several thousand combatants for something that would never happen.

The 'worst-case' scenario for mankind, or anyone else, shouldn't be something cultivators habitating the basic primordial dimensions should be worried about let alone be able to cope with.

As such, there had to be something different.

With Miriam integrating into the Starlight guild, the guild's future was promising, in terms of combat prowess, experience, and most importantly cultivation resources.

There had to be a reason for the strongest human of the youngest generation to enter a guild, and access to resources were the most evident.

Just at that moment, Miriam remembered something that had happened a few months ago.

"Don't tell me you were serious with your message about the possibility that the Primordial Dimensions and the system might cease to exist?? It was only a question in a dungeon quiz after all!!"

Aisha recalled the message too before her gaze averted to Shane, whom she was looking at in confusion.

"You were serious about that? I thought you drank too much!"

Shane knew that they didn't believe him, but that was fine with him. If he were to be honest, he didn't want to believe that the possibility for the system or dimensions to disappear was there.

However, in the end, they were said to have appeared out of nowhere, who said that they couldn't just disappear once again?
