Chapter 377: Overwhelming

The Invincible Scimitar had used up most of the inserted mana, but instead of advancing ahead, Shane retracted the mana inside his weapon to store it within the [Endless accumulation] ability once again.

At the same time, he exerted the [Light steps] movement technique without overclocking it once again.

Before the sudden empowerment he had received, Shane had been much slower than the Titan Gorilla, let alone the injured Orcan panther.

Since the beginning, his opponent had been the Tamer with his four tamed beasts that were, in fact, two Titan Gorillas, a thousand layer shield tortoise, and an Orcan Panther.

The Tamer looked like he was not powerful enough to fight on his own, but Shane could tell that his forte was using tactics, a numerical advantage, and his terrific observation skills.

Unfortunately, he had encountered Shane, who exceeded the tamer's expectations.

This had caused the death of two of his painstakingly nurtured Overlord beasts.

Because of that the tamer further enhanced his remaining two beasts' characteristics by using a total of three occupational skills.

However, Shane's speed had been enhanced by such a large margin that it was impossible for the two Overlords to cope with it.

The sudden change in Shane's strength astonished not only the tamer and his two Overlord beasts but also Shane himself.

He was oblivious to what happened, only to take a proper look at the notification he had received.

[[Taming|Uncommon|] Upgrade-Mission |★★★★| → Demonstrate your superior teamwork. Defeating 20 Overlord beasts with the help of your tamed beasts has been accomplished!

[[Taming|Uncommon|] Upgrade-Mission |★★★★★| → Reach a loyalty of 100% with all tamed beasts has been accomplished!

Reward:[Unbreakable loyalty] will be enhanced]

[Unbreakable loyalty] Every tamed beast with a loyalty of 100% will amplify the master's strength by 2.5% of its strength!

[[Upgrade-Mission] |Rare ★|<Unlocked> → Tame a third beast and reach the bottleneck of the basic dimensions with all three tamed beasts!]

Shane had skimmed through the messages in a matter of seconds, and the most important thing for him to know was that he received an amplification of 2.5% from both Umbra and Cosmo's strength!

This had to be the reason his body had suddenly begun to ache while his strength had increased.

But that had not been everything as his mana pool had been enlarged too.

All-in-all, it was a huge increase he received because Umbra's strength was almost at par with an Overlord beast, while Cosmo was barely weaker than a superior awakened beast!

His physical strength had already been devastating to his opponents, thanks to the perfect physique he had, but now, after the power-up, his body alone was already strong enough to fight the Titan Gorilla head-on!

Shane had never expected that his speed could reach such a state while he was still in the Basic Primordial dimensions.

However, with the [Light steps] movement technique and the sudden strengthening he had received, Shane felt like he was unstoppable.

Instead of being forced to retreat and find the perfect opportunity to initiate an attack, Shane knew that this was not necessary anymore.

As such, he simply changed his gears and adjusted his trajectory before he catapulted himself towards the injured Orcan panther that had tried to catch up to him.

Maintaining a steady grip on the Invincible Scimitar, Shane didn't even insert more than the necessary amount of mana into it before he brandished it.

The velocity at which he swung the Invincible Scimitar had increased drastically and Shane could barely cope with the sudden changes within his body as he had already inflicted more than a dozen injuries to the Orcan panther.

The orcan panther was oblivious to what had happened just a moment ago as Shane had already brushed past it, only to feel sudden tiredness overcoming the overlord that bled heavily from a multitude of wounds.

Just a moment after Shane shot past the panther, he appeared below the second Titan Gorilla, who had only now realised how fast Shane had truly become.

He himself was not even sure what level his strength had reached, but it was more than enough to defeat everyone in the arena without the need to exert the [Slaughterer's Path] technique or circulate a large amount of mana through the Invincible Scimitar.

Shane was simply using the [Light steps] movement technique so that his speed exceeded that of everyone else around him.

With a rapid thrust, the Invincible Scimitar pierced through the Titan Gorilla's leg before Shane smoothly turned around, using the momentum to lash out with the Scimitar, worsening the inflicted wound before he severed the tendons in the gorilla's other leg.

Due to that, the Titan Gorilla was unable to stand properly and Shane was just about to finish off the kneeling opponent when he received a system notification that apparently ended the battle, forcing Shane to stop in his tracks.

[Victory, Shane(Human)!]

Turning around, he saw that the Tamer had jumped out of the arena ring with a desperate expression, distorting his face that was already unpleasant to look at from the beginning.

Shrugging his shoulders, Shane wiped off the blood on the Invincible Scimitar before he stored it away.

After that Cosmo, who had been using all his strength to stay on Shane's shoulder, returned to the Hidden Paradise too.

Both Umbra and Cosmo noticed that something about their connection with Shane had changed.

It was not that they had lost their strength, but only a weird feeling that they shared something that they only belonged to Shane.

Rather than feeling uncomfortable, it could be described as a comfortable sensation, and as if their bond had become even stronger than before.

Shane was still not sure what exactly had happened, let alone how the Innate Skill's upgrade missions could have played into his hands so perfectly.

However, after thinking about it, Shane couldn't really consider it a surprise that he had finished the first upgrade mission of killing 20 Overlord beasts.

Since he had received this mission, he had fought against a lot of Overlord beasts, whether it was inside the fluare tower dungeon or the Primordial tournament.

The only surprise was that the following mission demanded something from him which he had already accomplished.

Under normal circumstances, attaining the perfect loyalty of your tamed beasts would take extremely long, but one could say that Shane was simply fortunate.

There might have been another reason but he was unable to figure it out.

In the end, the most important thing was that he had been able to defeat the Tamer without sustaining any injuries.

Fortune and luck had been on his side, and Shane didn't even want to imagine how dangerous the fight would have been if the Tamer were to be a combatant or if he had taken Shane seriously from the beginning.

Each of these scenarios could have changed everything, and he was fully aware of this.

Nevertheless, the strength he was currently feeling was overwhelming and he had yet to get accustomed to it!

Earlier, he had been worried because his mana purity was below 90%. It had turned into a huge disadvantage because he didn't receive certain amplifications, but that was not a problem anymore.

He was stronger than he had ever been!
