The Humble Him (1)

Anna’s heart was heavy as she followed Rothgarr upstairs.

Everything just now had happened too fast, she didn’t have the strength to stop anything, and she didn’t even fully understand the whole truth.

She just thought, a bit sadly, that Catherine was such a gentle and good girl.

Anna remembered that before she had a falling out with Catherine, Catherine had mentioned her sister. So it turned out that her sister was called Carol.

She remembered that when she was still in the Human Realm, she had heard that the eldest daughter of the Viscount York family died of illness, and their second daughter was suspected to be missing, but she did not expect that they were all harmed by Balan.

She originally thought that Catherine tricked Balan for the sake of longevity, and she also thought that Balan was just lying to Catherine by saying that he wanted to sign a soul contract with Catherine.

But today she learned that she was all wrong.

Catherine did it out of revenge, but Balan really fell in love with Catherine. Only, he didn’t expect his love for Catherine to end up killing her.

It turned out that it was really possible for demons to fall in love with humans.

So, did Catherine love Balan?

Right now, Anna still believed that Catherine thought Balan did not feel true love toward her, which was why she deceived Balan into signing a soul contract; she believed that she would not die after signing it.

So did Catherine fall in love with Balan after thinking that Balan wasn’t really in love with her?

Anna thought of something that puzzled her.

Catherine likely used some method to control Balan using the soul contract; then she could have totally commanded Balan after Rothgarr left, so why did she take action when Rothgarr was still there?

She thought of a lot of possibilities in an instant.

Catherine was too eager to take revenge sooner, so she lost her mind halfway through her goal, or maybe it was that she put too much faith in the power she wielded.

Catherine was in too much pain, she wished to die immediately after killing Balan, so doing it in front of Rothgarr was to make Rothgarr kill her in anger afterwards.

Catherine actually fell in love with Balan, but her sister died because of Balan; she was conflicted due to her love, unable to let go of her revenge and unable to let go of Balan, so she deliberately did it in front of Rothgarr. She didn’t want Balan to die.

The beauty was gone, Anna would never know what Catherine had been thinking, and she didn’t plan on speculating any more.

When Anna came back to her senses, she found that they had walked all the way back in front of her own room.

“Go and pack up what you want to take with you,” said Rothgarr, who was standing in front of her.

Anna was stunned: “We’re leaving?”

She thought that, when something like this happened, Rothgarr would stay at least a few more days to comfort Balan.

“The Abyss tree seed has been obtained, and the wedding has also been attended. What else should I stay for?” Rothgarr said with a cold face.

Anna thought to herself, yes, looking at Balan’s appearance, he didn’t seem to need Rothgarr’s comforting, and Rothgarr’s comfort may make him cry out of anger.

She really wanted to leave here now, so she hurried into the room to pack her things. Even though she had a closet full of clothes, she only switched between a few of them, so she packed them up and hurried out.

Seeing Anna with a large mass of clothes in her hand, Rothgarr thought that there was nothing in his castle, so he put up with it.

The two walked towards the terrace one after the other, when Anna suddenly whispered, “Thank you for protecting me just now.”

Rothgarr paused, but he didn’t stop to say anything, and after walking straight to the terrace, he turned around and opened his hands to Anna.

Anna was suddenly a little nervous. She walked over to him. When he wrapped his arms around her waist, spread his wings, and flew into the sky, she looked at the castle that was gradually growing smaller and smaller.

Her heart felt a little heavy now, but there seemed to be a light shining amidst the heavy feeling.

Demons could fall in love with humans.

Of course, Balan falling in love with Catherine did not necessarily mean that Rothgarr would fall in love…but how should she put it? This was better than the worst case scenario she had ever imagined.

At this time, Anna could not deny that she had more feelings for Rothgarr than one would have for a friend, but under the premise that it was impossible for a demon to fall in love with a human being, how could she dare to let her feelings grow?

Of course, she couldn’t let them out now, either.

There were still many problems to sort out between demons and humans.

And she still wanted to go back to the Human Realm. Even if Rothgarr liked her, she felt reluctant to stay in the Demon Realm.

But for now, it looked like he wouldn’t let her go back to the Human Realm.

Thinking about the problems she was facing, Anna felt that her feelings could be pushed aside.

The goal she most wanted to achieve at the moment was to find an opportunity to return to the Human Realm.

Time passed while Anna was thinking about this. After what she guessed was about an hour or two, she saw a castle standing alone in the desert in the distance.

The shape of this castle was not too different from Balan. At first glance, it seemed to be in disrepair, but if you looked closely, you would find that it indeed had a very historical feel…

Rothgarr descended on the patio and let go of Anna.
