Escape (3)

Rothgarr frowned, retracted his hand and said silently, “They can go. You? Don’t even think about it.”

Anna said in a small voice, “It’s not like I even can.”

Then she turned around and looked at Gray Gray and the others with regret in her eyes: “Did you hear that? You guys should go.”

Now Gray Gray and White Fur and the others didn’t dare to stay any longer. They turned around and ran out, but just after running a few meters, Gray Gray ran back and stretched out its head to Anna.

Anna laughed, placed her hand on it, and petted it gently: “I’m sure we’ll meet again in the future.”

Gray Gray squeaked twice in satisfaction. This time, it really walked away.

In the distance, White Fur looked back at Gray Gray, and seeing what it was doing, it wanted to come back, but gave up after seeing Rothgarr behind Anna.

The castle, which had gradually become bustling, was deserted again.

Anna stood there for a while, and when she turned around, Rothgarr was already gone.

She thought to herself that there was at least one pro of him regaining consciousness: he would no longer pester her all the time.

Anna went back to the castle and went to the study after eating as usual.

Rothgarr did not show up, so Anna hurriedly continued to memorize the array, committing it to heart silently.

She didn’t know if it was the increased pressure or her improved memory, but it only took Anna half a day to memorize the array. Next, she needed to practice hard so that she could seize the opportunity when it arrived.

She believed that Balan would not just stop here, and when he came again, it would be the best time for her to escape.

For the rest of the day, Anna stayed in the study, reading other books as a cover, while silently drawing the array circle in her mind.

And when the night star rose, Anna went back to her room, locked the door and went to sleep.

Today she finally didn’t have to worry about Rothgarr crawling into her bed in the middle of the night.

Here Anna was sleeping peacefully, while Rothgarr was sitting on the roof of Anna’s room, silent.

He wasn’t too far away from Anna today. When she was reading in the study, he was actually leaning against the wall outside the study, but when Anna came out, he heard her movements and hid, to avoid her noticing.

At this time yesterday, he was on her bed, hugging her tightly to sleep, but now, he could only sit here.

As time went by, the memory of those few days became clearer and clearer, and they had completely become memories that truly belonged to Rothgarr. As long as he closed his eyes, he could feel the soft palpitations when his lips were close to Anna, the scent of her being all he could smell.

In the past, he nearly mutilated himself to the point of death so he wouldn’t have to bow down to a servant, but now, he was willing to call Anna “Master,” even begging to be intimate with her with such a humble attitude. She had him in the palm of her hands.

When he was at Balan’s before, he was unwilling to admit that Anna was special to him, but now, even though he admitted it, he was unwilling to face it.

He was the Grand Duke of The Abyss; how could he be like a weak human being and…and fall in love with a human being!

Rothgarr also had to admit that because he didn’t understand his feelings, he was afraid and did not dare to get too close.

He had no idea what to do next, he just knew that Anna couldn’t leave until he fully understood.

When Anna woke up the next day, she found that she was truly alone in bed. While she was relieved, she couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed.

Sure enough, once Rothgarr returned to normal, he was back to the way he was with Balan, avoiding her.

She guessed that he was sorting out his thoughts. It was impossible for him to be ignorant of the facts and his own emotions, but she didn’t dare to bet on the final conclusion.

Anna went to the study as usual, using the cover of reading books, but actually continuing her memorization and practice of the array.

At noon, Anna ate and then went back to the study. She seemed to be the only one in the castle; she hadn’t seen Rothgarr since she had woken up this morning.

In the afternoon, Anna went to the now quiet farm. She had nothing to do, and was just wandering around to see the situation. She picked some fruits, gave them a casual wipe, and ate them.

She didn’t know when Balan would come again. If he came, would he fight Rothgarr?

Speaking of which, Balan once gave Rothgarr a choice, saying that he could either kill her or let her return to the Human Realm. If she took the initiative to tell Balan that she wanted to return to the Human Realm and asked him to help distract Rothgarr, would Balan help?

While Anna was in the midst of thinking these thoughts, she saw a figure appearing in the distance, and then Rothgarr also rushed out of the castle.

Anna looked at Balan, speak of the devil!

Balan still had the wounds from the fight with Rothgarr the previous day. Rothgarr also had injuries on his body, but Anna had healed him that day. Then, he regained consciousness yesterday… She regretted healing him.

“Roth.” Balan flew in the air, staring at Rothgarr, “As your friend, I can’t leave you like this.”

Rothgarr thought of his previous fight with Balan. He was silent for a while before saying, “The curse is over.”

Balan was stunned for a moment. Seeing that Rothgarr looked normal, he was finally relieved, but then he saw Anna on the ground looking up at them.

Balan said, “Then what are you going to do with Anna?”

Rothgarr frowned. “You don’t have to worry about that.”

“Roth, look at me…” The corners of Balan’s mouth rose into an ugly smile, “Don’t follow in my footsteps.”

Balan had said this kind of sentence many times. Rothgarr was already hesitant because of his feelings for Anna. Right now, he was tired of hearing it, chasing Balan away, “Don’t come here anymore.”
