I am in a fever and seeing an illusion.
Shiori thought so.
The man in this room right now is an illusion created by a high fever.

“Kurst. . .”

Say his name between painful breaths.
I don’t care if it’s an illusion or anything. The moment she saw him, Shiori instinctively lifted her upper body using her arms as support.
My head feels dizzy and I feel like I’m going to collapse, but it I lose consciousness here, the precious illusion will disappear. With such fear, Shiori desperately tried to keep her consciousness.

Kurst’s eyes were wide open and he didn’t even move, but his appearance was as perfect as ever. He has a more grown-up charm than three years ago, and is as fearless and beautiful as when I saw him on the day of the cavalry parade.
It is a figure that would not raise doubts even if it is said to be an excellent sculptural work, but it also exudes Kurst’s inner calmness, gentleness, masculinity and bravery, and colors him like a human being.

Three years ago, he caught my eye and my heart many times.
In this painful situation, it may be an illusion, but he is by my side.
Her eyes were hot and tears were pouring down.

The anxiety she had about her reunion with Kurst-She wondered if Kurst would forget about her, or if he remembered her, would he be annoyed? Even if she met him, she would only cause trouble, or about his fiancée, the princess-all of those things had disappeared from Shiori’s mind for just this moment.
Or maybe it didn’t just disappear, but was swallowed up by a greater wave of joy.

“Kurst. . .!”

Using up all of her remaining strength, Shiori got up from the bed and started running.
Her legs quickly got tangled and she almost fell over forward, but she took advantage of even that and jumped into Kurst’s chest.

“I’ve always wanted to see you. . .!”

It would be foolish to hide it now.
In the corner of her heart, she was worried that he might be bothered by being hugged, but Shiori didn’t have the time to think about her partner’s feelings right now. She wraps her arms around the tall Kurst’s neck and leans against him. She was afraid that if there was a gap between the two of them, they would be easily separated again, just like when they separated three years ago.

Shiori called out Kurst’s name several times to make sure he was there.

Kurst remained frozen as the voice of his beloved called his name over and over again.
Certainly, he saw a notebook written in Shiori’s handwriting. SO he came here in a hurry – he was sure that Shiori was in this world, but when he actually saw her, everything seemed like a dream.
My desire to meet Shiori was so strong that I ended up having hallucinations.

Otherwise, this would be too convenient.
Shiori said “I missed you” and hugged me while crying.
This must be an illusion of my own making.

But that’s okay.

After this illusion disappears, I will surely feel a strong emptiness. Even knowing that, there was only one thing that Kurst could do.
Accept this happy hallucination.
How could I refuse Shiori, who was crying and clinging to me? He couldn’t, at least not with Kurst’s mental strength.

“Shiori. . .”

Hatefully, Kurst let out a hot sigh as he embraced the vision of her, which had an enchanting feel to it. Her sweet scent melts his head.
“Shiori, Shiori,” and Kurst, too, repeatedly called out the name of the person he loved in his arms, and kissed her tear-stained eyes and cheeks persistently.

“Shiori?”

When he suddenly came to his senses, she had lost consciousness and was exhausted. Her slender arms, which until now had been wrapped around his own neck, were now stretched lazily under her.

“What happened?”

Even though it was just a phantom, Kurst’s heart shrank when he saw Shiori looking unwell. He watches her carefully.
Her face is red and hot, and her body is warm. Her softly arched brows are twisted painfully, and a hot sigh escapes from her thin, parted red lips. . .

“. . .What are you doing!”

Hearing Schyle’s speechless voice, Kurst suddenly came to his senses. He couldn’t stand the temptation of Shiori’s lips, and he dropped a deep kiss there. With her lips blocked, it made her breathing even harder.

“What are you doing all of a sudden! Let her go!”

Seeing a stimulating scene in front of him, Schyle turned bright red and yelled. He desperately reaches out his hand to get Shiori back.
But the action fueled Kurst’s anger.
The expression that melted while holding Shiori in his arms suddenly became cold. Anyone that tries to separate Shiori from him is his enemy.

“Don’t touch my illusion (Shiori)”

Intimidating with cold eyes and a sharp voice.
Kurst didn’t pull out the sword he was carrying on his waist. However, Schyle was unable to move as if the blade had been thrust at his throat.
For better or for worse, it was the first time that Kurst, who was tolerant of Schyle, had restrained him in this way, and he was overwhelmed by the sense of intimidation. It’s frustrating, but Schyle didn’t have the courage to take Shiori back from Kurst in this state.

Kurst looked away from Schyle and looked around the room cautiously like a wild beast. He wondered if there were any other ‘enemies’ trying to steal Shiori.
A little further away, there were two prison guards and a young man in plain clothes, all of whom were staring at him with surprised expressions. The prison guards are silent with wide eyes, but the young man in plain clothes muttered things like, “Were you really acquainted. . .?”
Judging that they weren’t enemies, he moved his gaze again and found a familiar mage in the darkness at the back of the room.

“. . .”

He seems to be trying to turn his eyes away from them and become one with the wall, but given his flamboyance, it was absolutely impossible.
Kurst said quietly while still holding Shiori.

“Garrell? Why are you here. . .”

This isn’t the kind of place he wants to come to because he likes glamorous places. It’s like finding a bright red bird in the dark sea. . .
Kurst alternately looked at Garrell and Shiori. And finds a possibility.
His heart beats fast.
Possibly, Shiori in his arms isn’t an illusion. . .
“Garrell?”

He looks to Garrell for answers. Even without putting everything into word, the clever magician understood exactly what Kurst wanted to ask and responded.

“. . . that’s what it means. The summoning magic I did two months ago wasn’t a complete failure.”

Garrell was prepared for taunts from Kurst, but it was a baseless fear. At least at this moment, what was important wasn’t to curse Garrell, who didn’t realize that Shiori had come to this world.

“A doctor. . .!”

Kurst picks up Shiori and rushes out of the detention room. *If she’s real and not a phantom, then this overheated body is also real. Shiori is in real pain.* In that case, solving it is the top priority for Kurst.
But then, Schyle once again interfered. Perhaps because he learned it earlier, he didn’t reach out his hand this time, but he tried to stop Kurst with a tone that was as persuasive as the title of ‘Deputy Commander’.

“Wait! Only after the doctor’s diagnosis that it is necessary, and permission from His Majesty and our captain, can we release her, who is a suspect, from here. That is the rule. If you are a knight, follow the rules.”

Kurst, who was about to leave the room, slowly looked back at Schyle’s words. In his arms, Shiori remains limp.

“Who do you think I am?”
“. . . . . . . . Eh?”

Schyle raised an eyebrow. He says it often, but it’s the first time he’s heard it from Kurst.

“I am the hero of this country.”
“What. . . . .”
“It’s different from a mere knight. His Majesty has said that he will allow a little selfishness.”

*However, he has never behaved selfishly until now, just because he was told to do so. Because using his position like that is an abomination for Kurst.

But if it’s to help Shiori, I’ll use my position as a hero as much as I want. That’s how he felt.
I don’t care if anyone despises me. I don’t mind losing the king’s trust.
Confining Shiori, who had a fever, in this cold and dark room was more unbearable.

“It’s my responsibility to get Shiori out of here. I won’t let anyone complain.”

Kurst left Schyle with that and left the room with Shiori.
