The Despicable God

"Siphon their cultivation? You mean absorbing them for his own gain? How vile!...We should have known…" Irene mumbled with a dark expression.

"Couldn't have expected any less from a god like him…" Reva muttered with firmly pressed lips.

"He actually could have just absorbed our cultivations right after he killed us, but he was in an injured state where he couldn't just go around killing everyone. He wanted someone to do all the work for him, and that too in a way that we don't feel suspicious. The Xeton Empire started placing the Cursed Seals for Yohr while we completed their job by offering our dead to Yohr, where he siphoned their cultivation. Still, how could our mortal cultivations be of any help to a god?" Elor mumbled with furrowed brows.

"That's because tiny drops make a mighty ocean. Yohr has been doing this for centuries and think about how many dead people had been offered to him since the beginning. He even gave your ancestors a tiny drop of his bloodline and their descendants inherited some of it as well and so on. The main reason he didn't seem to gain more power was that he was busy transferring his soul essence to Reva to take over her consciousness. That was his biggest mistake since he made himself more vulnerable by doing that. I bet he never saw it coming…a day where people who had been worshiping him would realize about his atrocities," Damien said with a head shake.

However, Damien felt that Yohr truly was a terrifying mastermind to trick all these people for generations while gaining their respect and get revered by them as their god. The only reason Yohr failed was because he met Damien.

"So is this why the Xeton Empire never killed all of us when they had the chance all those centuries ago, right after they betrayed us? They were purposefully letting us live to only slaughter us later…" Reva said in a cold, cutting tone as she clenched her fists.

All of them had been getting fooled for more than a thousand years, and yet they had no idea at all except for the Zirian Emperor who died.

"Ha…let's not think about the past but instead correct our mistakes since now we have a chance for real," Irene said with a firm gaze as she looked at Damien.

Damien could see what she was hinting at and asked, "You want me to remove the seals on others as well, right?"

Irene nodded with a faint smile, "We still have thousands of Zirians among us in the entire continent. Most of them are crippled because of the Cursed Seals, but now that isn't going to be a problem. We can finally build an army of our own, even if it may not be much. But we can use them to sabotage the Xeton Empire secretly instead of fighting out in the open. Without the seals, I am pretty sure they would have a hard time recognizing them as Zirians."

Elor got off the bed as he walked towards the window and said in a cold, firm tone, "Every single day I lived here, I only dreamed of three things. Seeing my granddaughter happy and well was one. And the rest two were to see Yohr and Ruthren dying in the worst possible way. I want to see them suffer as they go. But even if Yohr died without me being there to witness it…I want to be there when Ruthren falls. Even if I am not as powerful as him right now, I am confident that he can't take me lightly."

Damien got up as he said, "Grandpa…Trust me when I say that Yohr died a death he never dared to imagine. It wasn't quick anyway. He got what he deserved. As for Ruthren, I will do everything in my power to make sure you get to see that wish fulfilled."

Elor turned around as he smiled with a satisfied look and patted Damien's shoulders with his hand, "Grandson-in-law, you are the mightiest young man I had ever seen. I have no doubt you will be able to move mountains and split the skies. Even if you are so young, your experience and intelligence seem to be way ahead compared to others of your age. So go…do whatever you are planning to do, and we will be your support."

Damien nodded as he said, "I guess I will set out tomorrow then and make myself comfortable with a disguise to move around the continent."

Irene got up and asked in a concerned tone, "But are you sure you want to go alone? I can always send some experts to accompany you, and they are pretty good at hiding themselves."

Damien smiled and said in a reassuring tone, "It's fine, grandma. I already have a plan."

Reve suddenly walked away outside silently, making Irene and Elor look at Damien with a slight grimace.

"I guess she is still upset that you are going alone. Ha…women can be sensitive about these things," Elor said with a sigh.

"I will go and comfort her. Don't worry," Damien said with an awkward smile as he quickly went outside, but Reva was nowhere to be seen.

He sighed as he knew the one place Reva would probably be at, and within a few moments, he was standing on the top of a cliff, looking down at a sapphire-haired beauty sitting right outside a small cozy camp.

The camp was surrounded by large cool trees and flowers, and the camp was put up by both Damien and Reva to spend some alone time here when they first came here.

Damien could feel that the aura around her was quite moody and decided to simply watch her from afar and approach her late.

Hours passed as the two never moved from their positions while Damien was still looking at her. Time seemed to pass quickly, especially when he had two girls continuing their usual bickering in his head.

He slowly got up and decided to approach Reva, who was still standing outside the camp, still staring at the oceans. Her beautiful sapphire hair was still dancing in the air as the winds blew through.

Damien subtly landed near Reva, and right before he was about to hug her from behind, she suddenly asked, "You are going back for Lily, right?"
