"Just like everyone else who would attempt to break through to the Heavenly Level, my father also took several pills to strengthen his Life energy force" there was a hint of anger flashed across his face for a moment as he continued,
"But someone put a deadly curse on one of the pills he took, resulting in my father not only failing the breakthrough but also injured his soul. The curse attached to his soul and weakening him as we speak. We have tried everything in our power to break the curse, but not a single person could remove the curse or heal his soul"
"Do you have any idea who put the curse on the pills?" Arwen asked Kamil.
"We don't know but I think my father might have an idea"
"Why now? If I'm right, it has been five years since your father was cursed, why the sudden increase in protection and invitation to all these Alchemists?" Again Kamil sighed hearing Knight's question.
"My father's health deteriorated to the point that we fear he would die soon and since many Alchemists who inspected my father would tell about his situation to others, our rivals will soon attack us. That was why I couldn't attend King Don's Coronation Ceremony, General knight" Everyone knew the one thing that kept protecting the Lucroy family was the uncertainty of Francis Lucroy's health but now it came to the light, and soon, the vultures would round the Lucroy family to finish them off.
"Can we see your father?"
"Yes, General Knight, you can see him. As long as you can help cure my father. We will give anything to you that's within our power" Kamil waved his large hand and pointed to a side door. He said, "My father is in there"
Since they invited the Alchemists to cure Francis, many had tried to cure him but clearly, they did not have the ability to remove the curse. As each of the alchemists walked out with embarrassed faces, the disappointment on Kamil and Yvonne's heart also grew increasingly dense. But now, their last chance of saving Francis depended on Knight and they were prepared to give anything as long as he could save Francis.
Kamil stared at Knight as he turned around and exchanged glances with Yvonne. Each of them saw shock within the other person's eyes. Although Knight said he had the way to cure Francis and looked confident, they still couldn't completely believe he could actually do what he said, after all, many Alchemists said the same and disappointed them in the end.
"General Knight, you…" Kamil stood up. He had doubts about Knight but he still said cautiously, "Do you have the means to cure my father?"
"First, I should check your father's state with my own eyes, only then, I can say anything" Knight would have said he has the Elixir of Holy gold but after he heard what really happened to Francis, he decided to see him first because if the curse was related to Aathrey by any chance, he would rather stay away from the Lucroy family than put himself at risk by trying to cure Francis. He was being extra careful after experiencing what Aathreya could do as he didn't want to get infected by the Balck energy again.
Kamil opened his mouth slightly. His original intention was to investigate the foundation of the young man in front of him and what's his endgame.
"Father, let General Knight inspect grandpa" Yvonne, who was seated beside him, gently pulled Kamil's clothes with her hand before quickly smiling calmly and spoke to Knight.
Then she gestured at both Arwen and Knight to follow her and as they walked closer to the side room, a faint and gentle lamplight shone out. He slowly pushed open the door and the resulting room was extremely large. In the middle of the room, there was a big bed. An old man with a shriveled face was lying on it. Surrounding the bed were a few female servants who were busy with things here and there. When they heard the door opening, their gazes turned over. Immediately, however, they began to once again take care of the old man who had entered an unconscious state.
Knight slowly walked near the bed. His gaze swept across the bed and realized that a large bluish colored patch was faintly contained on the old man's face. The quiet face that was deep asleep actually had some aura of death.
"It is indeed very serious…" He had no idea how serious the old man's condition is but he just pretended as he knew.
"That's right, after being able to survive the curse for so five years, my father is already at his limit." Kamil, who had closely followed behind the trio sighed and shook his head. He then immediately said, "General Knight, I don't know whether you are an Alchemist or not but looking at the situation, is there any prospect of him being healed?"
Beside him, Yvonne nodded slightly. A pair of bright eyes stared intently at the tall, calm face of the young man by her side while Arwen stood behind him and retrieved the device that Reghys used to monitor the black energy in their bodies a while ago.
Yvonne and Kamil had no idea what was in Arwen's hand as Arwen stared at the device for a few moments and whispered into Knight's ears.
"He's not infected with Black Energy" the device could sense any aura that had the signature of Aathreya's energy and since the device couldnt find any, Knight sighed in relief.
But Knight didn't show his relief on the face but moved closer to Francis and pretended to check his status by placing his hand on the old man's head
Seeing that he was preparing to act, Kamil pulled Yvonne and hurriedly took a few steps back. At the same time, they waved away all the female servants in the room.
Although being eroded by poison for such a long time had caused the old man's already shriveled face to become somewhat inhuman, one could still faintly see some unruliness.
After pretending to check the old man, Knight took his hand away and stood up. Both Kamil and Yvonne stared at him curiously to hear what he was going to say.
"I have good news and bad news, the good news is the curse can be lifted and his soul can be healed" According to Reghy's the elixir could cure if the soul was not corrupted or injured by the curse and after sensing the Old man's Life energy through Oracle, Knight could tell that his soul can be healed with the elixir. Fortunately, the curse was not as potent as the curse of Vivian, so he didn't need to use all the Elixir but a few drops of it.
"Really?!" Kamil and Yvonne shouted in joy but soon, their faces returned to the initial state when they remembered that he didn't say the bad news.
Seeing the smiles froze, he continued to the bad news,
"The bad news is, only one item can lift the curse before your father die"
"What is it, General Knight? I would do anything to get it for my father" Kamil immediately exclaimed.
"The Elixir of Holy Gold"
"What?!" the hope that emerged in Kamil's eyes disappeared the moment he heard the name. This potion was a myth and none believed such potion exists but Yvonne didn't act as her father as she could see Knight wouldn't have said this if he didn't know where to get one.
"General Knight, I would appreciate it if you tell us what you need from us" Yvonne didn't beat around the bush but directly asked Knight and shocked Kamil.
"I know where to get the potion and it's quite simple to get one actually but first, I need something from you, Lord Lucroy" Finally Kamil knew for sure that Knight wants something from them.
"What do you want from me, General Knight? As I said before, if what you ask is within my power, I will give it to you"
"It's certainly within your power, we're in need of your family's secret spell, the transportation spell that makes things weightless"
"The feather spell?" Yvonne asked as Knight nodded.
"Even if we give the spell to you, you can't use it, General Knight, because the spell can only be cast by a Lucroy. You must have the blood of Lucroy in your body to cast the spell or the spell won't work" of course many tried to steal or buy the spell from the Lucory family but this restriction kept anyone from doing so. By looking at Kamil's face, Arwen could tell that he's telling the truth and so does Knight.
"I knew things won't go smoothly as I wanted to, shit!" Knight cursed his luck inside and began to think about the issue for a moment. The spell would be a valuable asset for them and he had no doubt about that, because if they had this spell, they don't have to wait a long time to receive necessary goods and items.
Finally, after pondering for a couple of minutes, he knew what he had to do.
"Then Lord Lucroy, if you want to save your father, I suggest you pack your things and prepare to settle in Everlight"
