Unfortunately, there also wasn't any crimson plants or vegetation down in this lower cave, so I wouldn't be able to have the same opportunity that Mia had by eating some magical herbs and increasing my body's aptitude for magic. I did make sure to search a bit though, using Mia as a guide as to what might be similar to what she ate. But it was to no avail. It was all either destroyed or it never existed in this lower cave in the first place.
Now thinking of a way to get out of this godforsaken hole in the ground, I pulled up my status to take stock of the situation that my body was currently in.

My body was pretty battered, but it should prove no difficulty in climbing out. So I asked Mia if she was good to go, and with a nod of affirmation, we began our climb up the steep cave walls after I gave the Minor Crimson Cores to her so she could hold onto them seeing as I didn't have any pockets or clothes to keep them to my person.
With our abnormally strong and dexterous bodies compared to humans, we easily climbed out using the dirt and rocks as leverage. Suddenly receiving a peck on the cheek by Mia as I crested the edge, I almost fall back down. But she simply happily skipped ahead, without even looking back to my surprised form scrambling to get a hold.

Once we had gotten out of the grove, we began our journey back to the tribe. This time around it would take quite a bit more time, as my wings would be out of commission for a few days. As we traveled through the rocky hills, we encountered many weird and new bug creatures but mostly alumn beetles. Mia managed to test out her new body and skills, which astonished me by simply the gratitude of how much a power boost she had gotten. But she had yet to be able to use any of her newly gained magical skills.
Although that was of course what I had expected. If it was even half as hard learning magic for her as it was for me, then it would take her a while. I did of course give her pointers and the cursory information that I had learned so far about it. One thing that was weird though, was her eyes. She mentioned that she instinctively knew how to use the ability of her eyes. But whenever she tried, nothing happened. Either the effect was too weak, or we were testing on the wrong kind of target.
I put my money on the latter. So after journeying for a whole day, we finally found what we were looking for. Hobgoblins. Fighting five of those dog-sized mantis monsters, was twelve highly equipped and leveled hobgoblins. They were easily butchering these mantises, as they all ganged up on them using numbers and strategy as an advantage to overwhelm the creatures.
We observed the hobs for a while, Mia and I, waiting for an opportunity. While these hobs posed absolutely no threat towards Mia and me, this was an experiment. Once they had slaughtered the last mantis, the battered hobgoblins rested. Sitting by a rocky cliff side of a small hill, they eat and yammered about stupid and nonsensical things like greenskins always did.
Slowly, Mia began moving through the underbrush of trees and bushes. She had moved over to the flank of the left-most side of the camp, where two hobs were bickering. Grabbing their attention with the sound of a thrown rock, they begin to move towards her to inspect whatever had made the noise.
But when they got close, they only managed to see two beautiful mesmerizing gems glowing from within a bush straight in front of them before they had time to react. Slowly, their eyes turned blank for a second and then into like those of an adoring puppy, while their faces became flushed with the color of love.
I was were surprised at how easily they just lost all control like that. And to my immense surprise, I saw Mia whisper a command, which the bewitched hobs immediately performed without hesitation.
She can really take control of intelligent creatures, just like that?
Emerging from the bush, the bewitched hobs flanked her like two bodyguards. There was no doubt in my mind, that they were so lost that they would throw themselves on a sword if she commanded it or was in danger. Moving towards the other hobs, they all were shocked as they noticed Mia. When I saw how they were looking at her, I couldn't help but feel an inexplicable rage suddenly boil up within me.
The hobs that were bewitched merely looked at her with love due to the magic influence of her mind control, so I wasn't really bothered. But these hobs were looking at Mia with lust coloring their leering eyes. The burning feelings I had for Mia combined with my unyielding will almost boiled over at that point. It took every ounce in my being, not to just rush out there and submit these disgusting creatures to the worst pain they would ever experience while tearing them limb from limb.
But I didn't have to worry for much longer as my heart settled into a calming ease. Because, suddenly the hobs that had been bewitched, rushed in with furious fervor contorting their faces, in an attempt to skewer one of their previous brethren. With disgust and rage flaring in her eyes, that such lowly and disgusting creatures other than her Master would dare to look at her like that, Mia submitted the hobs to even more painful and excruciating torturing slaughter than I ever could even begin to imagine.
Yup, that's my girl.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride, in seeing the love that Mia showed me combined with the viciousness and cruelty she showed to everybody who wasn't me.
