At that moment, the bathroom door swung open. Kamian came out, running his fingers through his hair, and stopped in his tracks upon feeling the two pairs of eyes fixated on him.

“Why?”

I sighed deeply as I took hold of Kamian’s hand and pulled him away. Seeing Sherry’s eyes sharpen like an axe, I quickly released his hand.

“Look closely, Sherry. Right now, he may seem remarkable, like a hero who can save the world, even like a prince.”

“…A prince, you say.”

I shook my head firmly.

“Kamian is just a diligent young man working in the fields of this village. The prince resides in the royal palace of the capital.”

I deliberately didn’t reveal that Kamian was the prince of the demons.

Sherry’s eyes filled with rebelliousness as she tugged at my clothes. When I stooped down, she tightly grasped a lock of my hair and whispered in my ear with all her might.

“I’ve never seen someone as handsome as Kamian since I was born.”

“…How old are you if you’ve only lived this long?”

“Our mother said the same. Kamian is the most handsome!”

Sherry shouted suddenly, the sound ringing in my ears, causing an unpleasant sensation. The piercing sound afflicted my eardrums. Holding onto one ear, I frowned, and a shadow fell across my face.

Kamian wrapped his arms around my forearms and lowered his head.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, fortunately, it seems like everything’s fine.”

I tapped my finger against my temple next to my ear. Although I spoke in a playful tone, as if to make light of his excessive concern, his expression remained unchanged.

“Sherry, you mustn’t torment your sister.”

Kamian spoke firmly, and Sherry’s face twisted sadly. The look in her eyes, glaring at me with creased brows, was concerning.

Hey, I didn’t say anything, did I?

“…I didn’t mean to torment her.”

“I know. It was a mistake, right?”

Kamian tidied up Sherry’s dishevelled hair after her shower. His touch was not rough but delicate, catching my attention. Was he like this when he brushed my hair? I quickly covered my ears with strands of hair.

“But… I want to tell Liv that Kamian is the most handsome.”

Here we go again… I let out a deep sigh and pushed Kamian away.

“Sherry, the world is vast, and there are plenty of men out there. Right now, Kamian may appear to be the most handsome in your eyes, but when you go to the capital…”

I paused and looked up at Kamian. Hmm. There is no doubt that Kamian’s appearance is exceptional, but it’s highly unlikely that there are many people with his level of attractiveness in the capital.

“…when you go, you’ll find that there are men who are wealthier than Kamian.”

“I don’t need wealth.”

I ended up giving the child such a worldly lesson. The importance of money is something one naturally learns as they grow older, so there was no need to tarnish their innocence. Thus, I quickly corrected myself.

“Right. There are many things more valuable than money.”

“Then, in the end, Kamian is the most handsome, right? Because only a prince can be the most handsome, so Kamian must be a prince!”

“Sherry, as much as it pains me to say this, you mustn’t forget the age difference. How old are you now?”

Sherry extended ten fingers.

“Right. Then how old do you think Kamian is?”

Sherry wiggled her fingers. I took Kamian’s hands and brought them over, placing them next to Sherry’s, and then extended three of my own fingers.

“About this much. Quite a lot, isn’t it?”

“….”
