Wen Wenyao’s voice wasn’t particularly loud, but Qin Ruixi could hear it, and so could the principal standing nearby.

The principal, who was standing to the side, found it unbelievable when he heard those words. He stared at Wen Wenyao with widened eyes, a look of unfamiliarity in his gaze. In his eyes, Wen Wenyao was the epitome of a polite and well-mannered young lady, a product of a good upbringing with exceptional talents. She had never shown any signs of losing her composure before. Why… was she saying such things now?

If it weren’t for that familiar face, the principal would never have believed that she was the same Miss Wen from the Wen family that he knew.

“When will the police arrive?” Wen Wenyao asked with a serious expression, glancing at the principal.

“They should be here soon, probably within five minutes,” the principal replied hurriedly.

After saying that, Wen Wenyao nodded faintly and then turned and left the principal’s office.

The security guards were waiting outside, and when they saw Wen Wenyao come out, they quickly made way for her. She exuded an aura that warned people to keep their distance, and even the security guards felt a bit intimidated.

A few minutes later, a convoy of police cars stopped outside the principal’s office building.

The police captain was a man in his thirties, one of the students who worked under Wen Guangquan. He had the privilege of meeting Wen Wenyao a few times, and when he saw her in the principal’s office, he was quite surprised, especially when he noticed her somewhat grim expression…

“Hello, Miss Wen,” the police captain greeted her cautiously, feeling that something was amiss with her mood. It didn’t seem like she was in the mood for casual conversation, and he had serious business to attend to.

“Wait a moment,” Wen Wenyao called out to him.

“Is there something you need, Miss Wen?” The police captain quickly turned around and stood up straight.

He felt a chill down his spine…

“That person inside, the murderer, keep a close eye on him. When it’s time for the trial, I’ll come in person.”

Wen Wenyao glanced at the police captain with a calm expression. Song Nanqiao had no family, and if the Qin family intervened, it would be difficult for her to get justice. But with her involvement, it would be different. As long as she was alive, she wouldn’t let Song Nanqiao suffer any losses. She not only wanted Song Nanqiao to receive the justice she deserved but also wanted the Qin family to pay a hundredfold price.

Song Nanqiao… was someone she had to protect at all costs.

“Personally? Is the victim related to you?”

The police captain was startled by her words. He couldn’t believe that Miss Wen would personally intervene in a case like this.

“She’s my person,” Wen Wenyao said, then turned and left.

She left behind a bewildered police captain in the wind…

After leaving, Wen Wenyao flagged down a taxi by the roadside and went to her father Wen Guangquan’s company. While she was a member of the Wen family, her network of contacts was not as extensive as her father’s, so many things had to be done through him.

Once she got out of the car, she looked up at the tall building in front of her. She didn’t want to come here, but… it seemed necessary at the moment.

“Hello, Miss Wen,” the secretary happened to be coming down as Wen Wenyao walked in. When she saw Wen Wenyao, she recognized her immediately and greeted her.

“Where is my father?”

“The chairman is in the lounge.”

The secretary glanced at her watch; at this time, Chairman Wen Guangquan was usually taking a break.

“Alright, thank you,” Wen Wenyao nodded slightly and walked towards her father’s lounge.

Wen Guangquan was sipping tea and reading a book when Wen Wenyao arrived.

Taking a deep breath and adjusting her clothes, she entered the room. She recalled the familiar etiquette and mannerisms that had become almost second nature to her.

Raising her hand slightly, Wen Wenyao knocked on the door of the lounge.

“Come in.”

Wen Guangquan put down his teacup and furrowed his brows slightly, seemingly displeased. It was his break time, so he found it unusual for someone to enter during this time.

“Father.”

Wen Wenyao gently pushed the door open, walking gracefully with an elegant stride.

Seeing that it was Wen Wenyao, Wen Guangquan didn’t show much surprise.

“Are you here because of Song Nanqiao?” Wen Guangquan had just received news of the incident involving Qin Ruixi stabbing someone, and coincidentally, the victim was Song Nanqiao.

“Yes,” Wen Wenyao confirmed with a serious tone.

Now was not the time for beating around the bush.

“You two are very close,” Wen Guangquan remarked, still not showing surprise.

Wen Guangquan wouldn’t interfere too much in Wen Wenyao’s personal matters, as long as she didn’t cause major trouble at school. Although he didn’t have much interaction with Song Nanqiao himself, it seemed that his daughter cared a great deal about her.

Their relationship had reached a level beyond ordinary friendship, but Wen Guangquan still thought of it as a close friendship and hadn’t considered other possibilities.

“Yes, she is very important,” Wen Wenyao emphasized the word ‘important’ several times when describing Song Nanqiao’s significance.

“Song Nanqiao is indeed a talented individual, and it’s unacceptable for her to endure such injustice. However, I won’t directly intervene to help her. You are the Miss of the Wen family, you have most of the rights that I have, and you can help her however you want. As for the Qin family, you don’t have to worry too much, their family isn’t even worthy of lifting our shoes.”

Indeed, those from the Qin family were nothing but trash. In his younger days, Old Master Qin had competed with himself for market dominance and lost miserably. Now, he couldn’t even properly raise his descendants. It was both pitiful and laughable.

As for Song Nanqiao, Wen Guangquan thought she was somewhat connected to him. After all, in a week, Song Nanqiao was scheduled to participate in a trading competition. If this incident affected her, it would ultimately result in his loss.

Naturally, this loss had to be compensated by the Qin family.

“I’m giving you this information,” Wen Guangquan stood up and rummaged through his office desk, eventually producing a document.

Wen Wenyao accepted it with both hands and examined it. It contained contact information for politicians and judges across the entire province and even the southern region. She recognized a few names, all of whom were friends of her father.

“For any legal assistance you need, contact them. They know you and will help you,” Wen Guangquan advised, lifting his teacup to take a sip.

Glancing at Wen Wenyao, he contemplated. She wasn’t exactly young anymore, and it wouldn’t hurt for her to get involved in some societal matters. Wen Guangquan was curious about how far Wen Wenyao would go.

He watched with anticipation.

“Thank you, Father. I’ll be on my way.”

Wen Wenyao nodded slightly and prepared to leave.

Wen Guangquan didn’t respond but simply nodded.
