Just as Song Nanqiao had arrived home and hadn’t even had a chance to put down her backpack, the girl’s lips pressed against hers.

“Song Nanqiao!” After the kiss, the girl buried herself in Song Nanqiao’s arms, whimpering and nibbling on her, even taking a bite of Song Nanqiao.

“What’s wrong?” Song Nanqiao held her and felt somewhat puzzled. Wen Wenyao had been fine at school this morning, so what was going on now?

“You ignored me for over a week,” Wen Wenyao still remembered this.

Today, at school, she had suppressed her frustration and pretended as if nothing had happened. Now that they were back home, she was going to make Song Nanqiao pay for it.

“I’m sorry, I’ve been busy these days, neglecting your feelings. Can I make it up to you in a few days?” Song Nanqiao knew she was in the wrong and could only patiently appease the girl in her arms.

“I won’t have time in a few days.” Wen Wenyao raised her head, her watery eyes looking pitiful.

“Why?”

“The company is going to send me out of town for filming. In two days, I’ll be leaving with the cast and crew.”

Wen Wenyao pulled away from Song Nanqiao and sat on the sofa.

Honestly, she hadn’t received enough training yet, and now she was being sent to shoot a film. Wen Wenyao wasn’t sure if she could handle it, but the company needed more exposure for her. Her agent had also told her that this role didn’t require much acting skill, and she could handle it.

“Is it an important role?”

“No, it’s just a supporting role, and the total screen time is only about ten minutes.”

“That’s not too bad.”

Song Nanqiao caressed the girl’s cheek and comforted her silently.

“But the company requires me to go out of town for the shoot.”

The shooting itself wasn’t the most critical part; the most significant issue was that it would separate her from Song Nanqiao. From what she heard, she would need to shoot for at least half a month, and the locations would keep changing. This meant that even during their summer break, they would be apart for about two weeks.

Originally, the summer break was only a month, so their time together would be even shorter now.

“In that case, go.”

Song Nanqiao knew that Wen Wenyao was reluctant to be separated, but it was just a filming project, and it could be beneficial for Wen Wenyao’s future.

“Can you come with me?” Wen Wenyao sat up and grabbed Song Nanqiao’s shoulder.

“I probably can’t.”

Typically, film shoots involved a whole production crew, and Song Nanqiao had no connection to the crew. Moreover, Wen Wenyao’s status was unique, and different from regular actors, so the director and the company probably wouldn’t allow her to roam freely.

“I can call you every day.”

“But I want to see you.”

“Then we’ll do video calls.”

“Okay…”

“And you have to call me every day.” Wen Wenyao looked at Song Nanqiao with a serious expression.

“If you don’t send me a video message one day, it will be double the next day, and if you miss twice, it will be quadruple. If there’s a third time, I’ll come find you directly.” Wen Wenyao playfully extended her sharp claws like a little kitten, as if she were threatening her owner.

“Okay, okay, okay.” Song Nanqiao couldn’t help but smile.

In the evening, Song Nanqiao was busy in the kitchen while Wen Wenyao sat on the sofa and watched a movie.

“Come and eat.”

To celebrate the holiday, Song Nanqiao prepared a variety of dishes.

Wen Wenyao obediently put down her remote control, slipped on her slippers, and walked to the dining table.

“Braised pork trotters!”

Wen Wenyao’s eyes lit up. She hadn’t eaten meat for a long time.

Song Nanqiao picked up her chopsticks, picked up a boneless piece of pork trotter, blew on it to cool it down, and then gently placed it near Wen Wenyao’s lips.

“Open your mouth.”

“Mm-hmm.” The girl opened her mouth, bit into the food Song Nanqiao offered, and chewed it carefully. Because she was an artist, she chewed each piece of meat for a long, long time.

“It’s delicious,” Wen Wenyao picked up the nearby chopsticks, wanting to eat another piece.

“Does the company allow you to eat these?”

“They don’t.”

“Then you shouldn’t.”

“You don’t even show a little sympathy for me. After becoming an artist, my agent has been controlling my food intake. I’m only allowed to eat chicken breast even when I want to eat meat.” Wen Wenyao added another piece, puffing up her cheeks while chewing, looking incredibly adorable.

“How much do you weigh?” Song Nanqiao asked.

“Less than ninety pounds.” Wen Wenyao thought for a moment. Last week, she had weighed herself at the company, and it was around eighty-seven pounds.

“That’s very light.”

Song Nanqiao looked at the girl, assessing her. Wen Wenyao was about 165 centimeters tall, and being under ninety pounds was indeed quite slender.

“You should eat a bit more.” Song Nanqiao brought out the other dishes.

“If you like eating meat, you can eat fewer carbohydrates.”

“All right.”

During the half-hour mealtime, after dinner, Wen Wenyao was very conscious about cleaning up the dishes and insisted on washing them herself. Song Nanqiao couldn’t argue with her, so she let her do it.

Song Nanqiao went to her room and began looking at the documents sent by the company.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

Song Nanqiao picked up her phone and saw that it was a call from Liu Xuwen.

“Is there something wrong with the company?”

“No, it’s something else.”

“Go on.”

“Today, a screenwriter came to see me, asking if we want to invest in his new drama. The rights to this new drama have been sold to ROT, mainly for ROT’s actors. I saw that Wen Wenyao is listed as one of the supporting roles, so I called you first.”

“Show me the investment amount and the script.”

“Alright, I’ll send it to you now.”

Liu Xuwen hung up the phone, and soon after, the script arrived, along with a message from Liu Xuwen.

Liu Xuwen: “If we want to invest, it might be around ten million, and profit-sharing is the highest.”

Ten million?

Song Nanqiao silently recited this number in her mind. She then looked at the script on her phone, carefully going through it.

The genre was quite innovative, and ROT was selective about scripts. Based on what she saw, ten million didn’t seem like too much.

At that moment, Liu Xuwen sent another message.

Liu Xuwen: If we invest, you can represent our company as a sponsor and go with the production crew.

Song Nanqiao: Hmm.

She understood Liu Xuwen’s meaning.

Going with her girlfriend to film was undoubtedly a very romantic thing, and Song Nanqiao also had this selfish desire. Even if this script wasn’t particularly good, she might still invest because of Wen Wenyao.

Song Nanqiao: Let’s invest, I’ll provide the funds.

Liu Xuwen: OK!
